- Q: I'm a 14 year old guy. Since I was about 8, I've carried around in my pockets little 'facsimiles' of things around me. If I watch a TV show view a website, or even walk down the street, I have to handle them and imagine they're objects that I see. For example, if I see a train on TV, I remove a little 1cm by 4cm piece of mousepad from my pocket and mentally substitute it for the floor of one of the train cars. I've gone through clothing tags, cut-up business cards, et cetera for 4 years. It's the same for tubes; I use a pencil grip for pipes, airplanes, or even people's limbs. It any of this a recognized psychological condition?
- Hey, BrightShadow, DONT use the N word. its rude... and disgusting. (obsessive compulsive disorder) Many people with OCD Feel compelled to touch touch things over and over. People with Synesthesia have the different sensory sections of their brains cross-wired some people think its scarry, like a permenant acid-trip or something... but.... colors have taste. sounds have color. sounds have taste. music can be sweet. someones name can taste awful. bread can taste purple. EVERYONE is born this way, and it speeds the learning process in infants, but most of these neural connections break down in the first few weeks or month outside the womb. Perhaps a when you see something, your brain is not satisfied just looking, and craves input from your other senses to complete the picture. Its not a flaw, it's hunger for input (ask Johnny 5) Does it seem to be a compulsion that makes you want more input? or is it that you feel you perceive it better with more than one sense in use at a time?
- Q: How do you prevent plastic tubes from becoming brittle in cold weather?
- One way to prevent plastic tubes from becoming brittle in cold weather is to use plastic materials that are specially formulated to withstand low temperatures. These materials are designed to have a higher resistance to cold and are less likely to become brittle. Additionally, insulating the tubes or providing them with some form of protective covering can help to maintain a higher temperature and prevent them from being exposed directly to the cold air, thus reducing the risk of brittleness.
- Q: Do plastic tubes have any limitations in terms of static electricity buildup?
- Yes, plastic tubes can generate static electricity buildup due to their insulating properties. However, the extent of static electricity buildup in plastic tubes depends on factors such as the type of plastic used, environmental conditions, and the flow of material through the tube. To minimize static electricity buildup, grounding techniques or anti-static additives can be employed.
- Q: Can plastic tubes be used for pneumatic conveyance?
- Yes, plastic tubes can be used for pneumatic conveyance.

- Q: What are the disadvantages of using plastic tubes?
- One of the main disadvantages of using plastic tubes is their negative impact on the environment. Plastic tubes are not biodegradable and take hundreds of years to decompose, leading to pollution and harm to wildlife. Additionally, the production of plastic tubes contributes to the depletion of fossil fuels and emits greenhouse gases, exacerbating climate change. Plastic tubes are also prone to breaking or cracking, which can result in leaks or contamination of the contents they hold. Furthermore, some plastic tubes may contain harmful chemicals that can leach into the products they carry, posing potential health risks.
- Q: How do you prevent plastic tubes from becoming brittle?
- To prevent plastic tubes from becoming brittle, it is essential to avoid exposing them to extreme temperatures, both high and low. Additionally, protecting them from prolonged exposure to sunlight and ultraviolet radiation is crucial. Regular maintenance and cleaning using appropriate products can also help maintain their integrity and prevent brittleness.
- Q: How do plastic tubes compare to aluminum tubes in terms of corrosion resistance?
- Plastic tubes generally have better corrosion resistance compared to aluminum tubes. Aluminum is prone to oxidation and can corrode in certain environments, whereas plastic is resistant to most chemicals and does not corrode easily. However, the specific resistance depends on the type of plastic and the corrosive substances it may come into contact with.
- Q: Hello Community, I'm 15 years old and I'm having ear tubes put in next week. Has anybody had ear tubes? What is it like having little metal things in your ear? Also, I live in San Diego and I really like to swim. Will I still be able to swim? I know I can't dive to depths, but can I put my head under water? Please help! THANKS FOR YOUR ANSWERS! =)

- Q: They are maybe a foot and a half long and are a hard hollow plastic tube. There is a sound maker inside and when you turn the toy vertically gravity pulls the sound maker down and noise comes out. It goes OOOOOOOOOOOAAHHHHH!!! I know that's a funny spelling, I laughed just typing it but hopefully someone will know what I'm talking about.
