- Q: This may be a little hard to describe but, hopefully someone can figure what im talking about.This toy is and open plastic tube with ridged edges. At one end of the tube it has a round half sphere for a handle. the toy is limp when held straight ahead. the toy is meant for swinging to the side or over ones head. the faster it twirls the higher the pitch. this has been bugging me for a while because i can not remember the name of the toy. if anyone can tell me the name of this it would really help.

- Q: I use a length of plastic tubing and after using it for a while (few months) it changed from clear to opaque. It had been exposed to heat, alcohol and water, nothing else. If you know why it changed colors please fill me in. Think of a polymer in similar terms as a crystal; all of the compounds in the plastic will align themselves in a similar way as the previous compound. When you do this with minerals, you end up with a clear or partially clear crystal. The same basic principal applies to polymers (plastics). Hope this helps!! - This is worrisome. As the others say, the worst scenario is the tape gets against the pickup screen and suddenly causes loss of oil pressure. If that happens you will immediately get a low oil pressure warning light but that's something you don't want to happen anyway. However since the piece of tape is 2 x 2 or thereabouts at this point it is almost certainly still rolled up and stuck at the bottom of the dipstick tube. There would not be room for it to easily escape and fall into the sump… yet. There should be one or two screws at the bottom of the dipstick tube to secure it to the engine. If you remove those screws and pull the dipstick tube out, with the dipstick unit, you should find the tape at or near the bottom of the tube. Remove the tape, throw it away, put the tube back in, and sin no more.

- Depends on where you live. Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, or other states that are very humid most of the time will keep them for a good long while. The tubes are really more just for presentation (like wax on a whiskey bottle) than they are for preservation. Ideal for cigars is around 75 deg F and 70% humidity. Compare where you have them to that to guage their longevity without proper storage. A ziplock bag with some pieces of dried fruit (apricot, peach, etc) is one home remedy for cigar storage, but I can't speak for it's actual effectiveness. The bag itself probably does most of the actual preservation. If they will fit, you can just get a large mason jar and buy these disposable humidty packs from a cigar company or online. Tear the top off of the envelope and place inside the jar with the smokes. Only about $8 invested and you will have pretty good preservation for at least 6 weeks (or until you put in a fresh pack).
