Q: Are plastic tubes suitable for pneumatic conveying systems?
Yes, plastic tubes are suitable for pneumatic conveying systems. They offer several advantages such as being lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and cost-effective. Plastic tubes also provide smooth internal surfaces, minimizing friction and enhancing the flow of materials. Additionally, they can withstand high-pressure environments and are available in various sizes and configurations, making them versatile for different pneumatic conveying applications.
Q: Can plastic tubes be used for electrical insulation?
Yes, plastic tubes can be used for electrical insulation. Plastic materials such as PVC (polyvinyl chloride) or HDPE (high-density polyethylene) tubes have excellent electrical insulating properties and are commonly used in various electrical applications to protect and insulate wires, cables, and other electrical components.
Q: What is the maximum pressure plastic tubes can handle without collapsing?
The maximum pressure that plastic tubes can handle without collapsing depends on various factors such as the type of plastic, the thickness of the tube walls, and the specific application. It is best to consult the manufacturer's specifications or conduct tests to determine the maximum pressure capacity for a particular plastic tube.
Q: What are the different sizes available for plastic tubes?
There are various sizes available for plastic tubes, ranging from small diameters like 1/8 inch to larger diameters like 4 inches or more. The specific sizes depend on the manufacturer and the intended use of the tube.

Q: Just wondering if the blue and red coloured sharkbite Pex tubing that is sold in states legal to use in Canada? I'm looking to do the plumbing in my new home and am looking to use this stuff rather than the copper. Thanks for any help
Can't imagine a problem with code compliance. PEX (plastic extruded tubing) has been used in northern Europe for decades, because it won't split when water freezes inside it -- it just swells up like a sausage, then reverts to it's original shape when thawed. The stuff is made from the same material as trash bags, and it will outlast cockroaches. It won't interact chemically with water or with impurities which might be in the water, it steals less heat from the water than does copper, so the wait for hot water is shorter, and it doesn't transmit sound as readily as copper. Only caveat is to be careful to use quality fittings -- the few problems I've ever heard of with PEX all had to do with inferior or poorly installed elbows, tee fittings, etc. I've used it exclusively for 8 years (well over 100 custom homes) and never had a single problem.
