- Q: Are plastic sheets resistant to cracking from impact?
- Yes, plastic sheets are generally resistant to cracking from impact.
- Q: Please explain what happens during the process of rubbing?Thank you so much for your help. :)
- There is a possiblity that there will be an electrostatic charge produced. it will more likely be on the plastic sheet as that is a better insulator than the tissue paper - it will also probably have a negative charge as plastic has a tendency to this ( dependent on the type of plastic). If it is negative then it will have rubbed off electrons (negative charges ) from the paper which in turn will have become positively charged ( as long as contact with the fingers haven't conducted the charge away ( or more correctly allowed negatives from earth to go on it).
- Q: Can plastic sheets be used for skirting boards or baseboards?
- Yes, plastic sheets can be used for skirting boards or baseboards. They are a cost-effective and durable alternative to traditional materials like wood or MDF. Plastic sheets are easy to install, water-resistant, and require minimal maintenance.
- Q: Under the temp. probe, and under the heater, obv. And these go under the liner, right? Electricity and water together = bad deal!So have I found the right answer?Bed is in chilly room in cold house, soft-sided with wooden frame. Will of course be using woolen, polyester, blankets on top, or maybe put the fake eiderdowns under bottom sheet and use the wool etc. over top sheet. Point is that bed will stay covered with warmth-keepers just about all the time.Am thinking of running the foil up along the side-walls. I intend to tape the sheets together into a complete large sheet.Had planned to use insulating rigid foam but decided was too much work to replace the home-made frame. Am hoping that the foil will reflect heat back into the water, not out into room.Furnace is forced-air, and electric bill in winter is Awful! IMO, at least.
- Foil won't do very much for you. It isn't an insulator of heat. It is a conductor of heat.
- Q: Can plastic sheets be used for shower enclosures?
- Yes, plastic sheets can be used for shower enclosures. They are commonly used as an alternative to glass due to their affordability, durability, and easy installation. However, it is important to choose high-quality, waterproof plastic sheets specifically designed for use in wet environments.
- Q: I was shopping around online and found this product that they call a dust jacket protector. But I was wondering what store like Wal-Mart or Target could I buy something similar to the dust jacket protector AND what would that be called?
- It is called a drop cloth. They come in different weights of plastic. For a dust jacket you would want a fairly heavy (thick) one. Wal-mart has some as do MOST paint stores.
- Q: I need a piece of flat sturdy plastic about 1/8 thick. Does anybody know where I can buy this? I dont want plexiglass, its too expensive.
- places that sell glass/mirrors, etc usually have acrylic that they can cut for u
- Q: Recently I have been working on a beer pong table. What I really want is the cups to not topple over when they get hit by the ping pong ball. So I have seen an idea where you can cut circular cup holes into a piece of plexiglass or glass like sheet and slide the cups into them to prevent them from falling over.My question to you is where would I find plexiglass or a glass like sheet?
- You can buy plastic sheets that are used for window panes lots of places. If not at Home Depot, then at a company that sells window replacements. I have purchased sheets of plastic.
- Q: I recently got a (Guitar) Pick Puncher for someone, and I want to supply them with some plastic sheets to punch them out of... I have come across the name Plike but I don't know if that's just one specific name brand. I would like to know where to get it also, and assume I might be able to go to michaels craft store.. I would like to have a name for them to search in the computer database in case I walk in, can't find it, and then the person I ask has no clue either.. Any help is appreciated. Thanks a bunch!
- They generally aren't sold that way (or weren't, who knows what scrap booking has innovated) but were sold as 9x12 or 8x10 sheets named after the plastic - styrene, acrylic, PVC, and so on. Someone making their own picks is likely to take odd pieces and then sand the end to thin it.
- Q: Can standard grade construction plastic sheeting be used as under layment for laminated flooring. Home Depot and Lowe's sell special black poly, and the cost is 4 times regular sheeting
- Red rosin paper is not a moisture barrier it is used to install hard wood floors over plywood. Use a moisture barrier two-in one underlayment or polyethylene sheeting with a foam underlayment. It's very important. Underlayment is inexpensive compared to the labor and material. Do it properly. Also don't forget to leave a 1/4 inch gap around the entire perimeter of the floor to allow it to float freely and expand and contract. Stagger the seams. You will need a tapping block to install the laminate. Do not glue the seams. Read all manufacturers instructions and follow them exactly. Allow the floor to acclimate to the room for 48 hours prior to installation for most laminates. Good luck with your project.
