- Yes. I would recommend a BC type because it is easier to clean up after if you should ever have to use it. Remember that the FX is for the use of saving people first, then maybe saving property. Always buy a big one, maybe a 40 BC. Using the FX you will have a huge cloud of white stuff that you can't see through. Stop and wait for some dust to settle and if you use a small FX there may be no more contents to spray if the fire is still burning or hot!

- I agree with Kayak. The emergency space blanket is just that. For emergency only. It does capture your heat but it will cause you to get wet inside a sleeping bag. Have you ever considered just getting a better sleeping bag. If you have a very small budget you might try garage sales, thrift stores and flea markets. I have seen very expensive sleeping bags go for $20 or so. Kayak had some good ideas to add to your present sleeping bag. But trying to stitch a space blanket inside will not last very long as the plastic will tear easily. Of course if you are not hiking long distances and just camping at a camping area just bring extra blankets in the car and add them on top and bottom. Simple
- Q: Fire extinguishers are great at putting out fires.But would it be possible to actually MAKE a fire using an extinguisher. I suspect that there might actually be a few different ways of doing it. If you have any ideas (based on sound scientific principles) please let me know so that I can perfrom an experiment and see if it works.
