- Q: Hello, i need some help on this question, i did a lab where we measured the head loss due to pipe fittings, and compared it to predicated values from the book..the percent error was extremly large 90% range. Why is this the case? I understand lab errors can cause a 2-3% error but 90 is very large. My calculations are right to.
- The doctors are used to pregnant women coming in to get checked to see if their water broke. That's what they're there for, and know all about pregnant women peeing on themselves. Not everyone's pee smells strongly, especially if they're drinking a lot of water, and some discharges may be thinner than others and seem watery like amniotic fluid. When my water broke, I was lucky enough to be sitting on the toilet. I peed and thought I felt like I was still peeing after I was done. Luckily I realized what was going on- since lots of pregnant women have bladder control issues I could have easily went about my business and ignore it. I didn't have a big gush of fluid, but it was somewhat of a fast trickle. And mine didn't stop either, as soon as I stood up it kept dripping a bit longer. I didn't have to do the lie down to let it pool test, but I strongly recommend it if you're not sure. While I was getting things together around the house to go to the hospital there wasn't much dripping going on, but as I was laying on the exam table waiting for the Dr. to come in and test me with a strip, my husband kept making me laugh, and my amniotic fluid kept spurting out of me. Graphic, but everyone I tell that to has a good laugh at it. Good Luck!
- Q: I accidently starved my old Mondeo of engine oil, it started doing high revs, overheating and came to a stop. Would not start. Having had stuck on a motorway at night drained the battery on hazard-lights. Eventually towed it home. Refilled the oil. Tried to jump-start it, it makes funny rattling noises (as if something is crackling or sparking) but the engine would not start. Is this a normal sound when the battery is flat or is this the sound of a locked engine? Or could it just be the immobiliser preventing the start-up due to the flat battery? Would appreciate any ideas before I scrap the much-loved old banger!
- Usually polyester can be washedbut find the washing instructions sewn into the pants! Not all polys can be washed..some lose their sizing and come out super wrinkled and never retain their crispness even after ironing. If it says OK to wash, use cold water and gentle cycle to minimize the thrashing against the washer tub that destroys fabric over time.
- Q: recently i have not been able to access my add/remove program folder in control panel and i need to access it to delete some programs. everytime i double click on the folder it doesnt do any thing is their anyone out their that knows what the problem may be and how to resolve it or ill even try deleting the programs manually if i knew how
- Still a subject of research and continual improvement. You want something that's highly reflective, but you also want it to be very light and very strong in thin sheets. You are probably going to want to use hundreds of square meters at least, and you want to be able to fold that up in a small package that doesn't weigh to much, and that won't fall apart when you try to unfold it. There's some discussion of materials here:
- Q: How can I keep the fire dep't from bringing negative energy into my party with &gross code violation& talk?
- Sure do. At the speeds that those things run even a small piece of stem could cause serious eye damage. Long pants, glove, hearing and eye protection. Saves a lot of heart ache in the long run.
- Q: So I have a lab coming up soon, and the problem is that it requires that no contacts should be worn in the lab. However, I've only worn contacts.. and I don't have glasses. My eyesight is also pretty bad if I take them out too.I'm doing a thin layer chromamtography lab and I will be using dichloromethane, and 0.5% glacial acetic acid in ethyl acetate. Do you think if I keep my chemical fume hood nearly closed most of the time, I won't be effected that much by the vapors? I'm not using a large volume of reagents for the lab, and I don't know how strong the vapors are.
- Warning!!! Good luck!
- Q: I recently got a suburban from an auction. It has a code alarm system. I think it's the Pro-3500 or something. Anyway, the alarm seems to lock the engine. I pull a few fuses from the alarm then put them back and the truck starts. I tried taking the alarm out but then the truck won't start. Is there a way to get rid of the alarm and be able to start the truck? Or would I have to find a remote somwhere.
- Flamethrowers have a hell of a kickback, almost like a firehose. If you're unprepared for it, heaven help you and anyone around you.
- Q: A chemistry student must separate solid barium sulfate, a precipitate, from an aqueous solution, equipment and glassware normally found in the chemistry classroom are available to the student.Describe how the student could separate the solid barium sulfate from the aqueous solution. What kind of lab equipments would be needed for this procedure and how are they used? Any safety equipments needed and why? How could this procedure be used in a solution outside the chemistry classroom?
- This is variable depending on the material. The property of a material's ability to reflect light is measured as a percentage of reflection called albedo. A mirror reflects almost 100% of the light that hits it and has an albedo near 100%. A highly reflective material, such as white sand, will have a high albedo, while black velvet has a very low albedo near zero.
- Q: I am considering moving up to Alaska and was wondering what vehicle would do the best up there. It is just me only and I am considering geting a Jeep Wrangler or Compass
- Install - Radiant Barrier Foil It's a lightweight, reflective material made of a plastic substrate with a vapor-deposited coating of aluminum that is also used by NASA to protect astronauts during space walks. This is a premium choice for insulation. It is applied by stapling it to rafters or laying it out over existing insulation. Radiant barrier foil reflects 97% of radiant heat (either keeping it in during the winter or keeping it out during the summer). It is the least-expensive energy improvement you can make in your home.
- Q: What percentage of space is space?

- I remember the first time I had to replace one of the new standardized type of pin-mount headlights. I couldn't believe how easy it was. You could even replace them with no tools at all! That's a big difference compared to the series of nuts, bolts, sheet metal screws and springs that had to be removed on pretty much every earlier version. If you want to see if you have a pin-type headlight mount, check this out.
