- I strongly agree with Footprintz in his feelings about polycrap. It is absolutely the worst material to look through and has the highest chromatic abberation of any lens material. To put it plainly, it's crap. AR coatings have to match the substrate of the material they are being put on. As the material bends or flexes, the AR coat must have the ability to do the same thing. If it doesn't, it cracks and crazes. Crizal (the first in the line of AR coatings by Essilor) was put on any surface and it performed poorly. The new Crizal Avance' or Sapphire can only be put on certain manufacturer's lenses that match the substrate of the material. This prevents cracking. And, as far as manufacturing errors FOUR TIMES?? What kind of POOR lab are they using? Are you sure your Rx is ok? I'd be very wary of anyone who tries it four times and then tells you it's a manufacturing error. I've fired labs and gone on to another lab for less than that. That is unacceptable.
