- honestly if you want to play hardcore gaming, dont get a laptop. get a desktop. Desktops are easily upgradable, last way longer, are cheaper, and run 1/10th the risk of overheating issues (and graphic cards run HOT which increases the heat of everything inside the laptop, and thus lowering longetivity of every other part in the laptop.) If for some reason you have to get a laptop, spend over 1700 dollars and dont get it from ALIENWARE or some other overpriced gaming PC company. Video cards are the most important part of any gaming system (since processors and ram that come stock in even mid range new PCs could run any game well with the right video card) Do the research on the video card whatever laptop youre looking at is. Chances are, if it has a good 3D card, and its new, it will play every game to date.

- depends where you hold your laptop. if surface is smooth, your laptop has less chance to overheat, if surface is rough and it's made out of warm material (like blanket) your laptop is more likely to overheat. it might also be the dust inside of it. if you currently can't afford new laptop, you can always clean this one but be aware that you might brake it if you don't know what are you doing. you can take it to technician to do that for you
