- Q: I'm conducting a research project and I need a long plastic tube about 20 to 30 feet long with a diameter of 10 or more inches. Approximately how much will I have to pay?
- They sell tubing at DIY, Home Depot, and Lowes stores by the foot. I don't know how much it costs, but it would probably depend on the diameter, too. I dunno, maybe 99 cents a foot? Probably less.
- Q: Just curious, when there is only a bit of toothpaste left, I have to squeeze little by little from bottom up. But then after using it, I'll have to do the same thing next time around. Obviously the toothpaste has to settle down the tube. Why and how does it do that?
- The plastic material has internal stresses that retain the shape it was cast in originally. Since it is attached to a round head it tends to form a sort of flattened cone. The toothpaste moves back up the tube to fill the available space as it is a type of really thick fluid. The shape may also lead to the toothpaste moving upwards due to capillary action (similar to how water moves up a very thin straw) To combat this effect, you can buy a little squeezy thing that rolls over the tube to prevent the toothpaste from moving backwards, or you can fold/bend it over as you use it like many people do. I store mine upright on the cap so the toothpaste settles at the end I squeeze it out of. The tube also uses less counter space when you store it upright as compared to laid over on its side.
- Q: How do you dispose of plastic tubes?
- Plastic tubes should be disposed of in a responsible manner by recycling them. If recycling is not available in your area, they can be thrown in the regular trash.
- Q: What are the ways to remove the taste in plastic pipes?
- Method for removing peculiar smell of plastic pipe by using orange peel. Wash it with detergent first. Then put the fresh orange peel in it and cover it for about 3 to 4 hoursRinse well.
- Q: I'm looking to start a business plastic coating oilfield tools just needing a little more info of anyone out there had any good ideals or a way of doing this I'm already working on the shop remodeling it ....
- Harbor Freight Tools: $70 for the gun, $5 for the coating powder, $500 for a small oven. Read up, I thought I heard where you can use a converted household oven for small parts.
- Q: How do plastic tubes perform in extreme weather conditions?
- Plastic tubes generally perform well in extreme weather conditions due to their durability, resistance to corrosion, and ability to withstand temperature variations. However, the specific performance may vary depending on the type of plastic used and the severity of the weather conditions.
- Q: Plastic pipe extrusion swelling
- Plastic raw material into plastic extruder, by rotating the screw pressure and shear stress and external heating, and make plastic melting fully and uniformly mixed, and the flow state by continuous die formed into plastic products.
- Q: I mean, like filling a plastic tube from end to end with mercury, sealing it with caps that allow contact points at either end, and then wrapping the tubing around a ferrite core, and adding current. Would this function just like any other coil?
- Interesting question! When a current flows through a conductor an electromagnetic field is generated. If the conductor is formed into a coil the field is concentrated. If you put a ferrous (iron) bar through the center, it should have a magnetic field ( attraction). It would be an electromagnet I think: Michael
- Q: Can plastic tubes be used for irrigation lines?
- Yes, plastic tubes can be used for irrigation lines. They are commonly used due to their durability, flexibility, and resistance to corrosion. Additionally, plastic tubes are lightweight, easy to install, and cost-effective, making them a popular choice for irrigation systems.
- Q: We just got my dad an oxygen tank and we need to connect 5/8 tubing to regular (standard) oxygen tubing. Where do I but the part to connect the tubing? Do they even make something to connect the two? If not how would you go about connecting them?
- It might help to know what kind of tubing you are working with (both ends). For metal there are various size reducers (flared and threaded). For rubber there are probably push on reducers, plastic may be a bit more difficult.
