Q: I am planning a trip to Malaysia and Taiwan this summer, and I?d love to buy a new phone there. But will it work at Czech Republic (Europe) with T-Mobile sim- card in it? And is it really cheaper to buy it there? THX
Yes, its cheaper for you to buy phone in Malaysia and Taiwan, where Malaysia is approx. 10 to 20% cheaper than in Taiwan. Your phone should work with any sim-card, including your sim-card from T-Mobile. But for that, you have to purchase a phone without any telco contract and you have to buy from indepedent phone sellers at their shops and its easy to find in Malaysia and less so in Taiwan. As for whether it will work in Czech Republic, you should consult T-mobile and not the handphone seller, cause its more towards the service provider on its roaming network connectivity, rather than the connectivity of the mobile phone. Consult T-Mobile for more detail about it.
Q: I am being pressured right now to unlock a t mobile phone. Basically my uncle is giving my mother who has att/cingular a t mobile phone to use. We need to unlock it first. I am a ludite. I just need help as I have no idea what I am doing
You need to get a SIM subsidy unlock codeif any of you have a T-Mobile account, T-Mobile will give you the unlock code for free. In addition to your account information you'll need to give them the IMEI (serial code) of that particular phone. You get that by dialing *#06# (star pound zero six pound.) This does not apply if it's a Sidekick cause T-Mobile won't unlock those.
Q: I want a new cell and i want windows mobile on it but i dont know what phones have it.
Almost okorder
Q: Mobile phone charging should be turned on or off?
Just finished charging standby mobile phone, turned off in a flash. This is because your phone's nickel-cadmium or nickel-metal hydride batteries, in a number of incomplete discharge that is charged when the case will have memory effects.
Q: I REALLY want to buy a sidekick for a new cell phone. I have verizon because T-Mobile isn't in my area. Can you have a T-Mobile phone if you have Verizon????
Nope. Verizon phones have an internal chip that lets it work on Verizons network.
Q: I just bought a virgin mobile phone.LoVeD it! But on the top of the phone where the icons are there is a GPS icon(checked in the user guide). In the guide it said it means that the location service of my phone is disabled/enabled. What does that mean??
I have the LG Rumor Touch. I bought this phone in July and have been having issues texting every time i try to re activate my beyong talk plan. Each time this happened to me I had to call and they did an investigation on my account. I have now had 4 investigations done, because for some reason they can never solve the problem after just ONE investigation. So they know me quite well from calling in so often. So for anyone looking to buy the Rumor Touch, Dont. ANYWAY, Ive been having issues today as well. So I called in thinking it was the same issue as before, and i finally got through after like 3 phone calls and countless minutes of waiting. Apparently one of their anntenas is down and they are currently trying to fix the problem. For those of you who cant get through to their live advisors it is because so many people are calling in trying to get help. I was told to wait it out and it should be fixed tonight. If it is not fixed I would call in tomorrow and keep pushing them to fix it for you, and when they say they will call you back, get a time limit. If they dont call you back, CALL THEM. It is the only way to get what you want, trust me.
Q: How could I get Picture off of my Virgin Mobile phone without them going through my virgin mobile account and costing me money?????
Unfortunately, Virgin Mobile practically forces you to make them go to a picture message because the ability to use data cables on Virgin Mobile phones have been disabled. However, if you have a Shuttle or a Slider Sonic, photos can be transferred onto a MicroSD card from your phone and then into your computer (this makes picture messaging not required to get your pictures onto your computer) If you don't have a Slider Sonic or a Shuttle, then you MUST send your photos in a picture message to get them onto a computer. Bluetooth will not work either :-( Hope this helps :-)
Q: And I was just wondering if you can flash a virgin mobile phone over to cricket?
Generally no. Especially the newer ones. Cricket generally will flash Verizon, Sprint, Alltel, Metro PCS, US Cellular and other companies phones over but Virgin Mobile isn't one of them. Virgin Mobile phones along with Tracfone/Net10 have the highest level of anti flashing techniques built into their phones (so people can't buy their cheap phones and then not use them on VM's network). I would just get a cheap Verizon phone as they are the easiest to flash to Cricket. But make sure you are NOT in a Cricket Trimode market. The new Trimode areas can't flash other phones over because they are not compatible with the new Trimode channel. Nobody uses Trimode but Cricket and Metro PCS at this time.
Q: Anyone has or has had a virgin mobile phone--- what are the pros and cons. I know they're good 'cause there is no contract but money wise would you spend more on one of these then on a cell phone with a contract?
With any pre-paid phone you could easily end up paying double what you would pay with a contracted phone. If you would talk on it a lot, like more than 30-45 mins a day then it would be more expensive. With virgin mobile it is more expensive than other pre-paid services. I would suggest you go with Cingular Go Phone's if you know a lot of people on the Cingular network because you get unlimited mobile to mobile. And a)that saves you money and b) it saves your minuets. The major con to the Cingular Go Phones is that they dont have the latest and greatest phones. Virgin mobile has some pretty neat ones. They are both easy to set up, and if you go into any RadioShack they will more than likely offer to set them up for you. (If they dont just ask and they will) Well hope I have helped, if you have any more questions feel free to email me.
Q: I would like to get my mom a prepaid cell phone for emergencies. I have an old Boost mobile phone, does anyone know if that cab be re-activated? Or, should I just get a new phone from somebody else?
Yes you can reactivate your old Boost Mobile phone. However when you call Boost Customer Care they will ask for your sim card number and phone model number. There will be a extra $10 activation fee to reinstate service since the phone and sim card has previously been activated and cancel. Just let them know that you are giving this cell to your mother. You need to purchase a Boost Re-fill card at any retail store before you re-activate with Boost Mobile again.
