Q:How do solar panels affect the value of a home?
Solar panels can have a positive impact on the value of a home. They are considered a valuable asset as they generate clean and renewable energy, reducing electricity bills and potentially providing a source of income through net metering or feed-in tariffs. Additionally, solar panels demonstrate a homeowner's commitment to sustainability, making the property more attractive to eco-conscious buyers. However, the exact increase in value can vary depending on factors such as location, installation quality, and the overall energy efficiency of the home.
Q:Are solar panels durable?
Yes, solar panels are durable. They are designed to withstand various weather conditions, including rain, snow, and wind. Additionally, most solar panels come with a warranty of 25 to 30 years, indicating their long lifespan and ability to withstand wear and tear over time.
Q:When you consider that solar panels will not produce enough electricity in their service life to cover their cost should we subsidize them anyway? that much of the cost of a solar panel is the energy to manufacture, install, transport and maintain them. Shouldn't the market determine whether they are worth installing? Is subsidizing them taking money away from research that could be spent on more viable alternatives?Should we be taxed to pay for others solar panels when they don't work?
Recent investments into solar panels have brought about a couple of interesting realizations and developments. One, as you state, is that traditional solar panels (silicon crystalline panels) are not currently cost effective, even will full-scale manufacturing production. It's possible that improved manufacturing techniques will bring the retail price down somewhat, but it needs to be brought down a lot to make economic sense without incentives. The other, though, is that a new method of producing solar panels - thin film technologies - has been developed. These are currently quite expensive, but because there are no crystals to grow, they are expected to drop significantly in price as production increases. I believe that this technological development has been made as a direct result of government support for solar energy. It is not taking money away from research - rather it is providing the incentive for research. I could be wrong. I've been wrong before. But I think that these new solar technologies, which are already hitting the market, will dramatically change the economics of solar energy.
Q:Any recommendation for best solar panels?
I have 3 ARCO solar panels and a wind generator on the Boat and it's all I need to live comfortably on 2 volts.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on a government building or facility?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a government building or facility. In fact, many governments around the world are actively promoting the use of renewable energy sources, including solar power, to reduce their carbon footprint and promote sustainability. Installing solar panels on government buildings not only helps in generating clean and renewable energy but also sets an example for the community and encourages others to adopt green energy practices.
Q:Do they really save energy? Cut or almost eliminate your electricity bill, if so, how much?Do they have a reserve unit to save electricity that I don't use, to use when the sun is not out?Can it produce enough electricity to cool a house and keep lights and appliances runningLastly, how much are the panels are running for.
Instead of paying for electricity, for the past three years I've actually ended up with a cheque from the power company believe it or not! :) I got some extremely cheap solar panels from this guide I read, I'll try and find a link for you.. that's one less thing to worry about during the recession I suppose! Haha The guide I used was here: tiny /solar789 my mum was the one who said I should take a look at it, since she's been using the techniques for donkey's years.
Q:Can solar panels be used in areas with high levels of saltwater exposure?
Yes, solar panels can be used in areas with high levels of saltwater exposure. However, regular maintenance and cleaning may be required to remove salt deposits and prevent corrosion. Additionally, using materials with high corrosion resistance, such as marine-grade stainless steel, can help prolong the lifespan of the solar panels in such environments.
Q:so i told my dad to buy solar panels and he wants to see how much money u can save we pay $00 and i dont want quot; You don't need solar panelshow much would my fmaily save?
maybe you ought to ask a solar installer in your area. who knows what the electric rates are. and how much electricity you use. and how much sun there is. and what your electric utility's policy is. and what kind of house you have, and how you use electricity. and what appliances (eg stove) you might convert to electric to take advantage of solar panels. wouldn't that seem to be a good idea?
Q:how to make a solar panel without buying any kit?Any things at home that can be used for solar panels(what are they?)procedures how to make a solar panel
You can make a heat generator for a window--- build a box out of wood the top is glass or plexi the inside is black with a suspended panel in between and a opening on the top which is open to the inside of the window, The sun comes in and is warmed by the black in side and exits through the top into the room,
Q:I have a solar panel i got for free and I don't know what to do with it. Its kinda big at about 20x 0and it puts our 2 VOC / .23 ISC. I don't know of anything that I could use it for. Its too big to say charge a phone or ipod....any suggestions??
2 volts rate at .23 ampere. It can be used to charge car battery. Put a 5 ohms rated 0 watts resistor in series between panel and 2.6 volts car battery to lower its voltage.
