- Q: Can solar panels be used in combination with wind turbines?
- Yes, solar panels can be used in combination with wind turbines. This combination is known as a hybrid renewable energy system, which allows for a more consistent and reliable power generation. By harnessing both solar and wind energy, the system can maximize electricity production and provide a more sustainable solution for meeting energy needs.
- Q: I want to build a solar panel
- Homemade okorder /
- Q: our school spends around $0,000 dollars on energy.we want to know how much money would installing solar panels on the roof save our school.
- Where do you live? In almost all areas, solar power is currently really expensive. It looks like it'll be 0-5 years before they're cost effective... sorry to tell you! If your school is a tall building with few similarly tall buildings/trees around it then mini-wind turbines might be worth a look. You'd have to measure the wind for a year or so to get an idea of whether it's worth it though - in most cases mini wind turbines aren't very good either!
- Q: Any recommendations for companies? Any things to look out for?
- It depends upon how you look at things. If you are looking for a decent return on investment, or a business decision, it is probably very unwise. In most cases people would see a far better return in upgrading insulation in ceilings, walls, and windows to much better insulation than they currently have, followed by proper resizing heating and air conditioning to smaller unit size to fit their lesser need as a result of the insulation. The heat an air conditioning units should be the highest efficiency available. The return on the above can make a positive and economic investment in many cases. If you have done the above first, and have money to spend and do not care about the return on it, then you can play with solar or wind. However, typical cost of generation of solar and wind energy is about $0.22 / KWH and you can purchase from utility at about $0.0/ KWH including generation and distribution so this is not all that prudent.
- Q: hi, i got a pond and i am planning of putting some lights on it during night time. but i want to use solar panels and i have done a bit of research about solar panels and i know how they work, i know that the common voltage to use is 2v so you can use car batteries or deep cycle batteries, but my question is:. what wattage of bulb can you recommend2. how long it would take to drain my battery (can i have it overnight)3. and what wattage of solar panel should i get enough to recharge my battery the next day.hope anyone can help..thanks
- select 2V, and it will tell you how big of a battery bank and how big of a solar panel you need. For my example, I need a 7ah 2V battery and a 20watt panel.
- Q: Do solar panels require direct sunlight to work?
- No, solar panels do not require direct sunlight to work. They can still generate electricity from indirect sunlight or even on cloudy days.
- Q: Can solar panels be installed on a streetlight?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on a streetlight. This is known as solar street lighting, where solar panels are mounted on top of streetlights to generate electricity from sunlight and power the lights.
- Q: I am looking at a need of roughly 30w/hour need per 24 hour period. I have spent several hours now looking for information online and have found plenty of info regarding the panels themselves, but information regarding the batteries backups have been slim. I understand that there is a 5-7 hour peak time to collect the energy. I am looking for information regarding the batteries themselves. How do the batteries work, what size batteries should I look for, and what is the life expectency for the batteries? Any website links would also be appreciated!
- Solar panels have their own characteristics and generate current depending on the intensity of sunlight falling on them and not on the temperature. Direction of the panel also makes lots of difference. Nowadays very thin panels are available at very high cost. The more area a panel occupies it generates more current. The current generated by a panel cannot be readily used since the current and voltage varies with the load connected to it. So normally a regulator is used to have constant voltage and constant current to come from the panel. This charges the battery. You have to calculate the total/normal current from the charger and then find the AH of the battery. When you have calculated the AH of the panel/charger then you can divide the AH of the battery by the AH of the charger/panel and find out the time taken to fully charge the battery. You also have to remember that there is a de-rating factor to be taken into consideration in the battery.
- Q: My family moved into a house that came with solar power panels but they are not connected and don't really understand how to even begin.
- You need to know some electrical basics. You need to check if they are still working and determine the output voltage with the use of testers. They are just part of a system that includes other equipments as well like a controller, car batteries, inverters, diodes.
- Q: How long does it take to install solar panels?
- The installation process for solar panels typically takes one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the system, as well as the availability of skilled installers.
