- Q: I'm re-doing my roof. Is it workable? Can I get a government grant or something to put solar panels on my roof?I know they did something like that for windows.
- I take it you are in the uk,no grants available that I know of .Affordability is down to how wealthy you are, cost effectiveness? you may!!!recover the cost over about 20 to 30 years depending on your power use, against what you would pay a power Co. Worth while? frankly just another scheme to prise money out of the public,in the name of ecology or cost saving.
- Q: What is the difference between solar panels and light panels?
- Silicon solar cells are divided into monocrystalline silicon, polysilicon, amorphous silicon, silicon thin film solar cells and several. At present, the world's most widely used solar cells are silicon solar cells, in large-scale applications and industrial production is still dominated by the penetration rate of 90% or more, monocrystalline silicon solar cell photoelectric conversion efficiency of the highest technology is also the most mature.
- Q: Can solar panels be connected directly to motor?
- The sun is irradiated on the semiconductor p-n junction to form a new hole-electron pair. Under the action of the p-n junction electric field, the holes flow from the n region to the p region. The electrons flow from the p region to the n region, and the current is formed after the circuit is turned on.
- Q: Can solar panels be used for powering a research facility or laboratory?
- Yes, solar panels can be used to power a research facility or laboratory. Solar panels convert sunlight into electricity, providing a sustainable and renewable source of energy. By harnessing the power of the sun, solar panels can generate enough electricity to meet the energy demands of various equipment and appliances used in research facilities and laboratories. Additionally, solar panels can be combined with energy storage systems to ensure continuous power supply even when sunlight is not available.
- Q: I know what they do and how they work, but at this point they're expensive, don't always produce enough electricity as needed, and can't be used when there's no sun, as in half the day. Wouldn't wind power seem so more efficient? Or if they do use solar panels, how about putting them in the desert. But I really believe that research money should go to fusion generators since that's the future and the answer to our problems. Which is best in your opinion?
- It absolutly depends on where you live. I don't have enough wind in my area for a wind turbine to do any good. I just installed solar, the system will pay for itself in about 6 years. I didn't get a system that will zero out my electcity usage, but it will dramatically be decreased. I can always add to it in a few years. Since I plan on living here forever I will see a great financial benift.
- Q: I would like to know how do you build a solar panel?
- i think the evil Genius book has how to build home made solar cells.
- Q: How do solar panels impact the energy independence of a region?
- Solar panels can greatly enhance the energy independence of a region by providing a clean and renewable source of electricity. By harnessing the power of the sun, solar panels reduce the dependence on non-renewable energy sources such as fossil fuels. This reduces the need for importing energy from other regions, thus enhancing the region's energy independence. Additionally, solar panels can be installed on rooftops and other available spaces, allowing individuals and communities to generate their own electricity and become less reliant on the traditional energy grid. Overall, solar panels contribute to a more sustainable and self-sufficient energy future for the region.
- Q: Can solar panels be used to power swimming pools?
- Yes, solar panels can indeed be used to power swimming pools. Solar panels can generate electricity from sunlight, which can be used to operate pool pumps, heaters, and other equipment, reducing the reliance on traditional electricity sources and saving on energy costs.
- Q: Can solar panels be installed on a warehouse or storage facility?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on a warehouse or storage facility. In fact, these types of buildings often have large, flat rooftops that are ideal for solar panel installation. Installing solar panels on warehouses or storage facilities can help generate clean and renewable energy, reduce electricity costs, and contribute to sustainability efforts.
- Q: Can solar panels be used in areas with high levels of bird or bat activity?
- Yes, solar panels can be used in areas with high levels of bird or bat activity. However, it is important to take certain precautions to minimize the potential risks to birds and bats. These precautions may include using specific panel designs that reduce the chances of bird or bat collisions, implementing bird or bat deterrent measures, and considering the placement of the panels in areas away from known flight paths or nesting sites. By implementing these measures, solar panels can coexist with bird and bat populations while helping to generate clean, renewable energy.
