1,Cast Iron Manhole Cover Description :

manhole cover is a removable plate forming the lid over the opening of a manhole, to prevent anyone or anything from falling in, and to keep out unauthorized persons and material.

Manhole covers are often made out of cast iron, concrete or a combination of the two. This makes them inexpensive, strong, and heavy, usually weighing more than 50 kilograms (110 lb). The weight helps to keep them in place when traffic passes over them, and makes it difficult for unauthorised people not having suitable tools to remove them.

A manhole cover sits on metal base, with a smaller inset rim which fits the cover. The base and cover are sometimes called "castings", because they are usually made by a casting process, typically sand-casting techniques.

5FAQ:

We have organized several common questions for our clientsmay help you sincerely

Q. Can I fit a square manhole cover into a round chamber?

A. Yes, there are a select few manhole covers which are square-to-round, meaning they will fit square or round chambers.

Q. I have a heavy traffic manhole cover but it has been broken by a forklift, why?

A. Forklifts have solid wheels which apply pressure differently to standard pneumatics and therefore covers must be specially adapted to suit this.

Q. I’ve measured my clear opening size but none of your covers match it, can you offer anything?

A. It’s likely that your cover is quite old and in imperial measurements which are no longer manufactured. However, we can offer bespoke solutions with manhole covers made to the specification you require.

Q. The project I’m working on requires a manhole cover with a quality finish, what’s available?

A. Naturally, galvanised steel of black polypropylene aren’t always ideal, and so we offer brass or stainless steel edging, as well as complete stainless steel covers.

Q. Odours are coming through where I have installed my manhole cover, why?

A. Your cover must be sealed and locked, or neoprene sealed, so you would require a T-Range Cover, or if you require a solid top, a selection of the PC range (e.g. PC2BG3, PC6CG3, not PC2BG) are suitable.

Q. I need access through my manhole cover on a regular basis, is this possible?

A. Yes, the majority of covers have built-in lifting keys, and for those that don’t we also supply lifting keys. However, the best way to obtain easy access is to have a bespoke, hinged manhole cover.

Q: I mean, there seems to be an endless number of metal genres and it just makes me wonder...
Why dont you watch Metal:A HeadBangers Journey. look on youtube, netflix. There are so many genres of metal. And honestly you shouldnt shut your mind off to any type of music. Im a straight up metal chick and i listen to all sorts of metal i even listen to classical and opera. Once you start understanding genres itll be easier. But honestly most people like what they like. I meet Mark Morton guitarist from Lamb Of God once and his ring tone was 50 cent. The more open minded you are the more musicly inclined and talented youll be. But metal to me is all about composition speed riffs vocals. Theres some amazing metal bands with amazing speed riffs double beats but clean vocals, like the Human Abstract, As I lay Dying, Born Of Oasis ect
Q: I need some clarifications for those musical termsGrindcore , Goregrind , Crossover thrash , Groove metal , Slamming death metalwhats the difference between the first threeand between goregrind and brutal death metal ?
The Haunted In Flames Soilwork Shadows Fall Silent Civilian (there not all death metal but i think you should check them out)
Q: Why do ionic bonds typically occur between metals and non-metals?
Hmm, seems to me that having so many sub-genres is not a problem...the problem is when people classify themselves into one of those genres. I personally like having all these sub-genres as it makes finding new bands easier. As for do you need to have a Blackened Viking Death Metal genre or else you wouldn't know how to answer a persons question.....Well yeah, you do need it or you're going to be giving misguided answers. Each genre has its own characteristics that separate it from the rest. I agree there are alot, but I like it. Just a thought.... think about how many bands have changed genres........Oh and to answer the question...I'll say theres more bands.
Q: Is there a special way to clean/take care of metal jewelry? I clean them with cloth after use but why is making them smell like metal. I know because they are metal but sometimes they can smell pretty bad.
What older/classic bands/genres do you think had the most influence on modern heavy metal? What do you think defines heavy metal music? Who do you consider a heavy metal icon? Do you prefer classic heavy metal, 80's hair metal, speed metal, modern heavy metal, death metal, or black metal? (there are other sub-genres that I didn't feel like listing haha) Which do you think is the most influential?
Q: i can give basic examples of what i mean:metal+acid=salt and hydrogenmetal+oxygen= water etc...
metals have high electrical conductivity, metalloids are semi-conductors. metals give a salt and hydrogen with acids, metalloids don't.
Q: since most salts contain a metal and a salt, how can one be sure that it is the metal atoms that emit photons when the salt is burnt (and analyzed under a spectroscope) and not the non-metals?
I don't fully understand your question. Manufactured metals? or are you referring to ore minerals? If you are referring to manufactured metals, iron tends not to rust so much - not just because it seldom rains but because the humidity (water vapour present in the atmosphere) is so low. Cars left abandoned in the desert will remain in a useable condition years later. If you are referring to ore minerals, you find similar minerals in the desert to what you find in places with wetter climates. Evaporites, especially gypsum halite, are frequently found in a desert environment but these are not metals. Sulphide minerals of copper, lead and zinc would tend not to oxidise and hydrolyse so much but that said, I have personally seen oxidised copper minerals in the Atacama desert which is one of the driest places on Earth.
Q: hi . element X melts at a temperature lower than that of boiling water. it fails to react with hydrochloric acid and 1centimeter cube (1 cm^3) of the element has a mass of 1.8g. identify element X as a metal or a non metal. Give reasons to justify your answer. thank you
ALKALI metals: - 1 valence electron, so highly reactive - soft metals - silvery in color - low boiling and melting points - large atomic radi ALKALINE metals: - have 2 valence electrons, still very reactive - shiny, silvery-white colour - when heated in flame, Mg gives a brilliant white flame, Ca a brick-red, Sr a crimson, and Ba an apple green - harder and denser than sodium and potassium, and have higher melting points - found combined with oxygen and other non metals in earth's crust TRANSITION metals: - are electric conductors - have luster - malleable - most are hard solids with relatively high melting and boiling points - because of unpaired d electrons, they can have oxidation numbers of +4, +5, etc.
Q: i've been listening to thrash for almost a yr now.. just wanted to try out black and death metal bands.. pls post some good black/death metal bands along with must try/good songs or albums..
You mean like Na + HOH --> NaOH + 1/2 H2? That's a base, my friend.
Q: I remember that the fusion of punk and metal was called Crossover in the eighties.
Death Metal: Morgoth - Selected Killing Heavy Metal: Iron Maiden - Rime of the Ancient Mariner Black Metal: Siebenburgen - Thy Sister Thee Crimson Wed Speed Metal: Helloween - Heavy Metal Is the Law Power Metal: Helloween - March of Time Progressive Metal: Fates Warning - Fata Morgana Thrash Metal: Kreator - Toxic Trace Gothic Metal: Theatre of Tragedy - Siren Hard Rock: Scorpions - Lovedrive
Q: I'm looking for some newer heavy metal bands that bare a resemblance sound-wise to classic heavy metal. Help me out? My two favorite classic metal bands are Iron Maiden and Judas Priest.
It's hard to say. Quite frankly, it's impossible to determine the origin of any type of music as it is an evolutionary process and you can only determine what genre of music preceded and may have influenced it. As for metal, it can be traced back to the late 60's and 70's with Black Sabbath, Iron Butterfly, Blue Cheer, etc and of course, there was the new wave of British heavy metal in the late 70's. Back to NWOBHM, I guess that's where most people consider other types of metal to have branched off from. Thrash emerged soon after in the late 70's and early 80's, and death soon after thrash. Death metal was never as popular as thrash or heavy metal, which is why a lot of its origins can't be traced as easily. Death bands that emerged in the early 80's had elements of both thrash and death. One example is Possessed who are considered both death and thrash, but seen as highly influential on the death metal genre. A few more early death metal bands are Atheist and Carcass though they are considered grindcore, particularly on their early albums. Though the roots of death metal go back to the 80's, there has been a new wave of death metal in the 90's. Bands like Cannibal Corpse and others (I don't listen to much recent death metal) have becomeincreasingly popular. This in turn caused a massive emergence of melodic death metal originating in Europe, particularly Scandinavian countries such as Finland. In my opinion, many types of metal originated in Europe and later caught on in America. However, one very American genre is thrash. Which is a whole other story and I've already written you an essay. Hahaha. ;)
