Q: how to pass a crane practical test?
you get a crane and operate it...not hard if you know how....
Q: Tower cranes sometimes have very long booms, but seem to usually have fixed counter-weights at fixed positions behind the cab. Why doesn't it flip backwards when there is no load, or flip forwards when a load is way at the far outward end of the boom? It seems to be a very large range of moment arms given that the counter-weight has a fixed one.
I think the counter weights are connected to a pully system that directly interacts with the boom and hook movement. This way it can put more or less pull on the weights according to the amount of weight or position of the weight on the crane.
Q: in the Open Boat by Stephen Crane, in part IV why are the characters not identified?
The characters are defined by their roles on the boat. Their previous experiences or personalities don't matter here. It is just the narrow repetitive experience of rowing and how they each contribute to it. Each character is Everyman, being thrown around by the merciless, indifferent hand of Fate. I think that Crane was squarely in the company of Naturalists (they think there's no such thing as individual agency, like Darwinism in fiction). The interesting thing to think about here is that one character has a name - Billie, the oiler. Why is this? He's the strongest, he's the most experienced and he's the one that dies. He's an individual to the reader but Fate doesn't care. I'm sure you can flesh the ideas out now.
Q: the way u find them climbing with the building makes me wonder how they become this long and what is the mechanism for that
The base and the arm can be expanded like the ladder of a fire fighter car.
Q: Tiger=StrengthSnake=FlexibilityCrane=Balance and the last two are?
There's way more than 5, there's actually over 300 styles of Kung Fu.
Q: Okay, well obviously, in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,he was ugly, but wat exactly made him ugly?? it tells you, but its way too complicated for me. Could anybody just make it... simpler?
He was tall, but exceedingly lank, with narrow shoulders, long arms and legs, hands that dangled a mile out of his sleeves, feet that might have served for shovels, and his whole frame most loosely hung together. His head was small, and flat at top, with huge ears, large green glassy eyes, and a long snipe nose, so that it looked like a weather-cock, perched upon his spindle neck, to tell which way the wind blew. A rather tall, slender man with bad posture, and a large nose.
Q: What are the types of tower cranes?
The tower crane is divided into: fixed tower crane mobile tower crane self lifting tower crane mobile tower crane is divided into: rail type tire type automobile type self lifting tower crane is divided into: attachment type climbing uses: concrete with cage for loading and unloading installation general building mixed
Q: because i have this huge sofa i need to get to 2nd floor but i cant coz the staircase is too small
Talk to a lumber yard that has a boom truck. Ask them how much to do it. A boom truck will cost much less than a crane. A boom truck can reach 45 to 50 feet. In this economy they are looking for anything they can get. They will most likely do it. But when really busy they wont. But things are slow. Builder 30 years. A crane will cost about 250.00 of the first hour. with a one hour min.
Q: A site would be nice...
I just used that poem for a project!
Q: I'm a little confused as to what the difference is between the crane and the flare boom-____- I'm thinking that the flare boom is what they use to burn off oil I there's a fire, but is that right? And what does the crane do?
Flares are used to burn off oil and gas that can not be transported to be processed without extensive costs. They can also be used at refineries as a safe way to release gas build ups in case of problems in the refining process occur. I imagine that a flare boom could be on the end of the crane but I know it's not always the case. The crane does what cranes do best... move things, usually from the ship to the platform or vise versa.
