Q:Any suggestions or experiences?
Vermiculite is not a fertilizer; it is a mineral that is added to improve a soils ability to handle fertilizers. It helps with root growth, soil structure, oxygen, and other factors that many plants desire. If you're growing seeds, the addition of vermiculite surely would help, but again it is not a fertilizer.
Q:my leopard gecko laid eggs two days ago and i already candled them and one of them has a bulls eye thing and the other one is yellow but it has small veins at the bottom of it that kinda form a small circle and this egg is bigger than the one with the bulls eye and neither of them have dents in them or mold or anything they are puffy and white
well if you have an incubator put them in there and they will hatch in about a month if you don't there most surly going to die Good LucK!!!
Q:Ok.I live in Minnesota. There‘s a pond in my back yard and there are about 50 red-eared slider turtles there. One laid eggs in my yard and I pulled them out of the ground because birds were digging them up and eating them. Does anyone know what I can do to make these things hatch?
Carefully dig and remove the eggs and place them into a plastic container half filled with dampened vermiculite. Drill small holes in the lid of the container, then put the container in the incubator. It is very important to monitor the incubation process. Do not rotate the eggs. Make a small mark with a water-based marker on the egg before it is moved. Keep the temperature between 80° and 86° F (26°-30°C). To keep the vermiculite moistened, add some drops of water. The babies will hatch 60 - 75 days later. When they hatch they have an egg tooth that enable them to open the eggshell, this tooth will fall out on its own.
Q:I have added seeds to soil in a plastic egg container (in the hopes of getting a mini greenhouse effect) and have kept the soil hydrated since sowing the seeds. I sowed them about 10-14 days ago and it according to the answers on here basil should have sprouted by now.Basically I want to know what has gone wrong and what I should do next time. Should I plant them or water them differently? Thanks in advance.
look for a release lever on the bottom near the shaft
Q:Iron powder. Water. Activated carbon. Vermiculite. Mineral water absorbent resin. After contact with air to human body harmful?
Water meets air less,Activated carbon is a porous substance, inert in the air, not only harmful to the body, but also the suspension of air, harmful gasesVermiculite, a mineral consisting mainly of silicates, is apparently inert in the normal environment. It is not harmful to people
Q:I'm mixing water and vermiculite for an incubation medium for gecko eggs. The ration is six parts vermiculite by weight and 4 parts water by weight. If the vermiculite is 25.1 grams what should the water be? Also can I see your equation you used for future reference? Thanks for your time
You left out some steps. You should mix the water, vermiculite and brown rice flour(ground brown rice) and place it in a jar and place the jar in boiling water or pressure cooker. Generally they are mixed together in the right ratio. One part brown rice flower, one part water and two parts vermiculite is the recommended ratio. Mix the water and vermiculite first. Then add brown rice flour. Place it half way full in a jar and cover it tightly with aluminum foil. Boil it for 20 minutes being careful that the water level is low enough that it doesn't get into the jars. Pressure cooking is better but not necessary. Let it cool down. Inject the spores. After a week or so it should start turning white. At some point you need to put it in a fruiting chamber. I would probably do that at about 2 weeks or when the mycelium had established itself. It needs to be exposed to light or mushrooms won't form. Mushrooms also generally need more ventilation at that point.
Q:i just need to kno where i can buy these things
I okorder
Q:All I have is miracle grow and Ive seen cacuts growing out side here where I live but I would like an experts opinion..... Help Me Please
Vermiculite can stick to the beardie as she lays her eggs and has been known to cause eye problems to lizards who have used it to lay their eggs in. It's a great incubating medium, though. But I'd recommend using EcoEarth/Bed-a-Beast for her to lay the eggs in. You can then move the eggs to the incubator with vermiculite (no additives like the other answerer said) or perlite (which I find that I have better success with when it comes to gecko eggs...again, no additives). Be sure to keep the eggs in the same position as they were laid.
Q:I have a one year old male python and pretty soon i plan to breed my snake with a female. My concern is that i want to make my own egg incubator so that when she lays eggs, i already have it set up. My concern is that i see alot of people using vermiculite. But my question is, which stores can i buy this from, and if i cant find the stores, can i use peat moss from the store since its moist?
If you have been watching tv lately, vermiculite contains asbestos. So, it may not hurt you to eat it, but don't breathe it ! DUH !!!!!!!!!!
Q:What mineral species are less dense than water? One is evenkite, what is the other one?
Ice. Yes, ice is a mineral.
