- Q: We have both, but the wood stove would need to be installed. I bought a new vent free heater with the oxygen depletion shut-off and a CO2 detector also. Its a drafty 70 yr old home and I want to heat the back 800 sq feet that are not heated. I probably won't run it at night, but which is safer?
