- Q: What is the function of the balance valve in the hydraulic jacking system of tower crane?
- The function of the balance valve is to maintain the balance of the oil pressure, the hydraulic oil delivery flow is stable, so that the tower crane jacket and the upper part of the lift, disassembly, standard time, lift and smooth.
- Q: ...the crate weighs 4000N when resting on the ground. Find the followinga)The tension in the cable necessary to do thisb)The work done by the cablec)The work done by gravityd)The total work done by the systeme)The final velocity of the crate
- One-fifth of a g is 1.96 m/s?. The mass of the crate is... m = F / a = 4,000 N / 9.8 m/s? = 408 kg The force of the crane must be greater than that of the force of gravity. The acceleration must therefore greater as well. 9.8 m/s? + 1.96 m/s? = 11.8 m/s? a) T = ma = 408 kg x 11.8 m/s? = 4.81 x 10^3 N b) W = Fd = (4.81 x 10^3 N) x 25.0 m = 1.20 x 10^5 J c) W = Fd = 4,000 N x 25.0 m = 1.00 x 10^5 J d) W (total) = W (crane) + W (gravity) = (1.20 x 10^5 J) + (1.00 x 10^5 J) = 2.20 x 10^5 J e) v (final) = (v? + 2a?x)^(1/2) = ((0 m/s)? + (2 x 1.96 m/s? x 25.0 m))^(1/2) = 9.90 m/s I'm sure that all of my answers are correct. If anything is incorrect, please e-mail me again. Best of luck to you Jim.
- Q: Denny Crane (played by William Shattner), and Alan Shore (played by James Spader) are partners in a Boston law firm. I would like to know if those those two are father and son in the series,
- NO. They are good friends.
- Q: If a crane fly loses a leg will he be okay? Is it painful for him or do they just 'release' them like a lizard can release it's tail?
- Chances are, it won't be O.K. Some spiders can release their legs, but only if given fair warning (a gentle tug). If the crane fly lost his leg violently, he will probably die from the injury. Whether or not the injury kills him, he will, of course, be more vulnerable to predators. Not to be morbid or cold, because I really do love animals, and hate to see harm come even to the under appreciated invertebrates, but the Crane fly usually only lives a couple of days, so as long as he mated, his job on earth was finished anyway.
- Q: Tower cranes sometimes have very long booms, but seem to usually have fixed counter-weights at fixed positions behind the cab. Why doesn't it flip backwards when there is no load, or flip forwards when a load is way at the far outward end of the boom? It seems to be a very large range of moment arms given that the counter-weight has a fixed one.
- I think the counter weights are connected to a pully system that directly interacts with the boom and hook movement. This way it can put more or less pull on the weights according to the amount of weight or position of the weight on the crane.
- Q: I was wondering if this is possible. The wall we have designed is very close to an existing retaining wall. In order to properly form and waterproof the wall we would have to demo that existing retaining wall. My idea was to build it off site, waterproof it, and then crane it into its location. Is this possible? any similar methods? thanks
- Possible but difficult. You could tell us what the wall is made of? Assuming stone, then you can't lift a stone wall unless you have a steel plate under it, as it will collapse otherwise. That gets complicated. Yes, you could build it with a 1/2 inch steel plate under it, and lift it that way, assuming it is not too long, and crane it into position, but you then have to slide the plate out without cracking the wall, also difficult. The plate is expensive, the crane is expensive. But what do you gain? You still have to demolish the old wall, you still have to build a new one, so what would you gain by building it somewhere else and moving it?
- Q: What should I do with them? who would accept them if I donated them?
- many childrens hospitals or orphanages will take them. if not donate them to goodwill and get a tax deduction. or you could give them to the salvation army. your call.
- Q: A family of cranes are at my house they are attacking my ducks and im scared they will kill them
- If your ducks are running loose and not in a wildlife proof pen, you are just asking for them to be harmed, harassed or eaten by just about anything. Keep your ducks in a safe place and you will not have a problem. ALL wild native birds are protected by law and definitely have more rights to be in nature than domesticated ducks do.
- Q: Who was the guy called the Headless Horseman in the story of Ichabod Crane?
- In the Washington Irving version of the story (which may be the original, I don't know if he based it on an earlier story or not), the Horseman is the ghost of a Hessian mercenary who fought died during the American Revolutionary War (if you don't know about this, Hessians were German mercenaries that were hired by the British). However, in this story, the guy never is given a name. He might be given a name in other versions of the story, but I am only really familiar with the Washington Irving version the various movies based on that story.
- Q: cover up? I know he was into pornography and who knows what else!
- Crane had just spurned his long-time friend John Carpenter. Carpenter was tried for the murder based on blood found in a car he rented, however he was acquitted as a murder weapon could not be found. The case remains officially unsolved.
