Q: Does shear deformation or cutting speed tool temperature more?Thanks for help.: Sheer deformation of the tool is negligible, therefore the deformation work converted into heat is very low. Excessive cutting speed will easily and quickly overheat the tool tip and may ruin its geometry and/or structure, depending on the tool material (hard metal or ceramic).

Q: There are many types of gadgets and machinery stuff made by mechanical engineers. But what kinds are the most focus on and most popular?: Dude, mechanical engineering is very broad and it's almost impossible to answer your question. But I guess I would say automobiles and electronic gadgets used in everyday life (computers, phones, medical devices). It all depends on where you land a job.

Q: have trouble doing anything as i injured my right hand an i'm right handed and live alone.: You should be getting Workman's comp. Its an injury that happened at work, regardless whether it was from their negligence or not. If you sue and still wanna work there, they cannot fire you. At least, they would have to come up with some other reason for the dismissal but if you have been there for yrs and suddenly they fire you after you have filed suit, its seems pretty obvious. I would certainly consult an attorney.

Q: A few years back I remembered seeing something on an ad on tv describing like a box you put over loud machinery like an air compressor so it will become quiter and even silence it. I don't know the name but from what I remember it was a white looking box very large.: foam insulation board,make your own pretty cheap.

Q: We all know that taking medication with alcohol, driving, or use of machinery intensifies the effect of medicine, but how come water don't? I also heard that taking medication with an acidic juice will decrease the effect.Water is suppose to be pure but you do have chemicals in it.I'm a little backwards here on this. If you want the medication to work, shouldn't you do what you need to do to get it to take effect for you?I have a low tolerance for medication so I SERIOULSY avoid doing the 3 'don'ts' of taking medication.But there's people out there that find if the medication isn't working with water, then they'll take other means to get it to work.: Ok... alcohol DOES intensify the effects of some medications, but driving and operating machinery does not. They say do not drive or operate machinery because you do not know how you are going to react to the medication. Sometimes the medications make you tired or less alert. LoL, that's funny!

Q: okay, so my grandpa has this (he calls it a grain wagon) piece of machinery, and he wants to know what year it's from and what exactly also it is, and it's make. Q: What is a situation you have been involved in or someone you know has been involved in where better safety procedures would have prevented an injury. What safety procedures you believe should of been provided to prevent the injury and how they would have prevented the injury.Any stories?: I knew a young welder who went blind the first day on the job because he failed to wear safety glasses.

Q: Do you enjoy operating heavy machinery?: I got to drive a forklift the other day.. i dont think thats heavy machinery (i couldn't pick it up so i guess its heavy) But that was heapsa fun because of the turning circle forklifts have. When i was younger my dad would let me operate the big backo's (digger thingies) that was fun 2, but scary.

Q: how have you seen the heavy machinery industry change over the last years, and how do you think it'll change in the next 10 years?, specifically with respect to concrete mixers and asphalt production. in U.S. and other countries.: I just got out of that line of work... grade construction, actually. The biggest thing I've noticed... you remember all the immigrants who came over here and started work as laborers or doing the dirty work? Well those guys pretty much run all the machines now. I'm not trying to sound racist, but the problem there is that they're willing to work for far less money than a lifelong U.S. citizen. That makes companies not want to hire as many of us. Why would they? They're saving money.

Q: *I have a garden shredder. If I wish to dismantle it (say when it jams) I find I cannot unfasten the screws, because they are of a strange type At the lip of the recess in the head the shape is hexagonal but this develops into a hemisphere within a short distance. What is this type of screw called and where to I get the tool which will offer purchase on the screws?: Not sure which this is, although it sounds like a hex head, but hardware stores stock lots of different screwdrivers for lots of different heads. .
