Q: Why is candle light considered soft and flourescent lights considered harsh?
This is partly psychological, with candle light being associated with intimacy and intimate occasions, whereas fluorescent lights are associated with emotionally cold, impersonal industrial or commercial settings. Nevertheless, certain physical attributes of the light may also come into play. Candle light is considerably less bright than fluorescent light, as a general thing. People do not willingly read for extended periods of time under candle light. The lights candles put out is also very heavy in the reds, oranges, and yellows, giving the light an emotionally warm color. By contrast, fluorescent light of the cool white variety usually encountered in office buildings is weak in the red an heavy in the yellow-green part of the spectrum. Fluorescent light also has a line spectrum component that has a subtle (and unappealing) effect on color rendition. That said, fluorescent light is softer than candle light in one sense. A fluorescent light emits over an extended area and is less uncomfortable to look directly into than the small, concentrated candle flame that somewhat resembles a point source of light.
Q: how you turn off,the service light(yellow light)
Meaning NOT the check engine light right? I'm pretty sure GM was the one to start this then several other companies started doing it too. To reset the maintenance light, put the key in and turn the ignition on (but don't start the engine), press the gas pedal all the way to the floor and release it 3 times in a row. This must be completed within 10 seconds of turning the ignition on. The light will blink a couple times or something and then turn off.

Light is electromagnetic radiation, made up of photons, which can be described as a pair of alternating electric and magnetic fields. In other words, light is made up of light, and is not made up of other components. The alternating nature of these fields is what determines the frequency of the light, and that, plus the speed of light, determines the wavelength of the light. Light propagates in a vacuum. It does not require a medium for tranmission (as air serves for sound transmission). While the movement of charges generates electromagnetic radiation, the propagation of electromagnetic radiation does not depend on the presence of anything.

Prior to the creation God did not need light in the way that we do. He created all things and He did not need to do things in the order that appear logical to us, because He is God and can do all things in ways which we do not understand. Plants need the sun and the rain to grow (for us) but God did not need to put the sun there before the plants could grow nor did He need to give rain immediately. A god who can bring back life to someone who has died does not work by the same rules that we need. Light always travels at only one speed. 299,792,458 meters per second. The overall progress of light can slow down through various media, but this is only because despite the common misconception light is not reflected by anything. When photons hit something, even something like a mirror, the light energy is absorbed by the molecules in the mirror, which changes their energy state, and they emit new photons. The photons that hit the mirror do not simply bounce off of it. When light is going through something the overall progress can be slowed due to all that absorption and re-emission going on. However, the individual photons are all still always traveling at the standard speed of light. Red light has a longer wavelength than violet. So the photons can travel farther through something without actually hitting any of the molecules in it. The same reason why radio waves can penetrate through walls to your radio but visible light gets blocked.
