- Q: I understand that damascus sword steel was made by folding the strip of steele double , reheating, hammering, folding again and so forth hundreds of times. Was this the same or very nearly the same techmique the japs used making the sword blades the samari swords?(forgive the misspelling)
- Folded Damascus Steel
- Q: All the appliances in my kitchen are stainless steel, and I hate how they look becuase every time I wash them they are full of streaks. Is there a good cleaner made for stainless steel that won't leave streaks?
- WD40 is great for cleaning stainless steel anything for some reason it protects it from finger prints things so you won't have to clean it as often. WD40 is great for thousands of other uses too, it can remove stickers, dried paint from glass, wipes away crayon wax, lubricates squeeky parts, spray it on your lawnmower or bike before you put it away for winter it'll come out in spring rust free.... so you'll get more than your moneys worth from a small tin.
- Q: I'm looking for a good source as to the 'structural formula' of steel. I'm not quite sure if that's what it's actually called, but here's a link to what I'm looking for.
- That's a very good question. What you need to do is run down to your local university and sign up for a undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering and after you finish that (4 to 5 years) then you need to sign up for a masters degree in Structural Engineering (2 to 3 years). Then, get yourself a structural engineering job and in 4 years you will be able to test to become a Professional Engineer. Whew, after that you will get paid very well as a tower designer.
- Q: How are steel coils used in various industries?
- Steel coils are used in various industries for a wide range of applications. In the automotive industry, they are used to manufacture car bodies, chassis, and parts. In construction, steel coils are used in the production of beams, columns, and roofing materials. They are also utilized in the manufacturing of appliances, electrical equipment, and machinery. Additionally, steel coils are essential in the production of pipes, tubes, and other structural components. Overall, steel coils play a crucial role in providing strength, durability, and versatility to multiple industries.
- Q: Cast steel welding
- Normal okorder /.. Mild steel and cast steel produces a very long stream of brilliant sparks, with some forking. CI produces much shorter, dull reddish sparks and the volume of sparks is much less. many highly branched or intermittent sparks will be seen.
- Q: How are steel coils inspected for straightness?
- Steel coils are typically inspected for straightness using various methods such as visual inspection, laser measurement, or by passing the coils through straightening equipment.
- Q: I work at a tool store. I told my boss last week we needed more pruning shears so he did get more of all kinds. Thing is out of all of the shears he brought Two of different kinds say they are made out of Japanese steel. I have never heard of Japanese steel so now i ask you (the public) whats the difference between it and steel from the US or any other country? Those shears are worth more then the ones he gets from Mexico and China and even more than Black and Decker, Fiskars, etc but not more then Corona brand ones.
- I doubt japanese steel has any special quality in its own, but they might just be higher quality shears. For example, Chinese qualities are good depending on what they are, but are usually not professional made with the greatest equipment. Same for Mexico. The company that makes them might just put more effort into making sturdier and sharper shears and thus make them more expensive, but Corona might make them a bit better so they are priced less than Corona's.
- Q: What are the environmental and social impacts of mining, processing and using steel?
- I don't think society as we know it could exist without it. As for the enviroment there is damage from mining, processing and from using steel equiptment.
- Q: Are steel coils used in the oil and gas industry?
- Yes, steel coils are commonly used in the oil and gas industry for various applications. They are utilized in the manufacturing of pipelines, storage tanks, and other equipment due to their strength, durability, and resistance to corrosion. Steel coils are also employed in the construction of offshore platforms and drilling rigs, where they provide structural support and ensure the safety and reliability of the infrastructure.
- Q: Are Steel buildings Fire Resistant, just want to know as I am going to owe it . Suggestions required…………..
- Rather depends on the construction method. I've seen a lot of buildings with a steel exterior referred to as 'steel construction', when in fact they had timber framing - not steel. Recently, in my neck of the woods, we had an ice/snow storm, and many timber framed steel buildings collapsed, because of the weight on the roof. A case of not enough pitch on the roof, and not strong enough construction. The fact that there were many that collapsed, tells me the standards for this region are not high enough, hehehe. How a building is finished inside will also affect how fire resistant it is, let alone, the many other factors that come into play, such as wiring, gas lines, and what is actually done (or contained) inside the building. All details not provided. Better Questions Yield Better Answers. Good Luck
