Q:I would like to build my own, customized aquarium and I have recently found out that float glass would be the best glass to use for it.I want the tank to be pretty long, considering i am turning it into a vivarium for my turtle.I need to know how much it will cost me to buy the sheets of float glass? or If I can just use regular glass for this instead?I am looking for something inexpensive, but with the quality also.thanks for the help :)
Either glass is going to be very expensive. Check with your local hardware store.
Q:I bought a tempered glass film online, but I will not paste, I will not paste around, how do?
Tough is the best paste is thick piece
Q:Is it really effective to use an insulating film for glass windows? Which brand is better?
Can really heat, and the insulation is still a lot, but will affect the lighting, with the car almost, posted inside can not see inside, brand Long film better point, cost-effective
Q:Would you like to use a steel mill? Glass factory must use the steel furnace? In addition to steel furnace what equipment?
First of all, the first three categories are best to have a steel furnace, the production of convergence between the comparison, the first three categories of glass, Smooth. Now the general customers will choose to tempered glass, if there is no steel furnace but also outside the fortification. There are also limited by the boss to choose outside the steel, so the size of the restricted funds to return to the relatively slow. In addition to the need for steel plant outside the need for electric cutting machine, edging machine, profiled machine, hollow line, glue line, silk screen machine, oven and other equipment. Considering the type of glass equipment to choose.
Q:What are the types and specifications of the glass? And how to identify the quality of the glass?
General glass classification by material, such as: quartz glass, soda-lime glass, etc .; according to the thickness of the points, such as: 2mm5mm10mm, etc .; according to the use of points, such as: architectural glass, automotive glass, a variety of classification
Q:I am making a stained glass panel with a lighthouse in it and I want to put windows and doors in the lighthouse. Do I cut them out somehow or put something over the glass
Traditionally, you're supposed to pick or create a design that won't have you trying to have pieces floating in the middle of another piece because it is difficult to cut a hole in the middle of a piece of glass, as you may have discovered. I have cut round holes in glass but it was regular window glass, not stained glass which can be a little trickier to cut. If you want to try cutting a round hole and then grind or chip it into a square shape, go ahead and try but be prepared for lots of spoiled pieces. Something else you could try, though, is a fairly new thing--glass paint which can be found at many craft stores or art supply shops. Pebeo is a popular brand. It can be painted on and left, which should work if the piece will always be indoors and you don't scrub it to clean it. There is a version of the same paint which can be painted on and then baked in a regular oven, and it's supposed to be dishwasher proof so should stay on very well. I have used some of this paint and it seems to do what they say it will, I'm still testing it for wear and don't have a dishwasher so can't really road test it. Painting on glass, such as you see in church windows, used to be quite impractical for the average glass artist since it needed a kiln in which to fire it on to the glass.
Q:the usage of glass in building construction has been in constant increase in the past decade.these glasses would certainly increase the volume of reflection in the atmosphere..doesn't this add to the temperature rise ?
A chalcogenide glass bolometer for detection of electromagnetic radiation wavelengths varying from infrared to microwave. The radiation absorbed by the glass increases its electrical conductivity, enabling measurement of the radiation. A method of fabricating the bolometer is also disclosed
Q:The world invented several kinds of glass
Tempered glass is not easy to break, even if the broken will be no acute angle in the form of particles fragmentation, greatly reduced damage to the human body. ? Frosted glass. It is also in the ordinary flat glass above the re-matte processing. General thickness of more than 9% below the 5,6 cm thickness with more. Sandblasted glass. Performance is basically similar to the frosted glass, different grinding sand for the blasting. As the two visually similar, many owners, and even decoration professionals put them confused. Embossed glass is a flat glass produced by calendering method, its biggest feature is translucent opaque, and more used in the bathroom and other decoration area. ? The use of calendering method, the metal wire or metal mesh embedded in the glass plate made of a kind of impact with flat glass, the impact will only form a radial crack and not fall into the wounds. Used in high-rise buildings and strong shock of the plant. ? Hollow glass. Adhesive method to use two pieces of glass to maintain a certain interval, the interval is dry air, sealed and sealed with the surrounding material, mainly for the sound insulation requirements of the renovation works.
Q:I am looking to build an aquarium, I figured if I do it myself I could save lots of money. I am looking to build about a 200 gallon. At pet stores I have seen aquariums approx. this size and they would sell for around $900. I have called local glass companies and gotten quotes for 3/8 thick tempered glass and just the glass is about $1000 dollars. Does anyone have suggestions or knowledge of building custom aquariums, where I could build my own for a fraction of the cost to buy a new one?
Do not use tempered glass for an aquarium, especially one so large. Tempered glass is much stronger than annealed (regular, non-tempered) glass, but it shatters. that is one of the major reasons for making glass tempered. When regular glass breaks, it cracks into large shards that can be sharp and dangerous. with tempered glass breaks, it generally makes a bizillion little chunks that are relatively dull. this is great for some things like glass doors or bathroom shelves. but imagine if this happens to your fish tank....water and sweet fishies all over the floor within an instant. :-)
