Q: I am debating on replacing my current roof with either shingles or metalI am wondering what would be the best option in terms of resale value and durabilityWhat are your opinions on each? Also, and some what more importantly, is a ridge vent necessary with a metal roof as it is with a shingled roofMy house was built in 1993 and it wasn't common to install ridge vents during that periodMy metal roofing contractor has told me that they don't typically install them if they are not there already because the metal reflects heat rather than absorb it like shinglesThe house has gable vents on each sideIs it a big deal and should it be done? Our electricity bill is very reasonable and I don't want to do anything to make it worse while trying to make it betterI am afraid that I may have to much heat lost during the winterAny thoughts? Thanks!!!!
The actual answer is C because, That is the heat energy lost is directly related to the shape of the objectHeat energy lost or gained is related to the specific heat capacity of an objectRemember, the amount of heat transferred mass x change in temperature x specific heatThe variables included only mass, change in temperature, and specific heat.
Q: I live in Florida and I have thick curly hairI hate what happens to it when it is humid and the frizz is unbearableI am going tomorrow to get my hair permanently straightened with the Chi Thermal Hair StraightenerI was just wondering if I will be able to get out of the shower and wear it down without spending time drying and ironing it? I am also wondering if I am still going to have to pull it back because I can not manage it?
If you try to get rid of stains with anything aggressive-acidic, you'll have to clean that tray very well afterwards because aluminum reacts heavily and will be covered in dark gray powdery messSoap or baking powder are betterIf you can, live with the stainsIt's only dirt if it comes off.
Q: what temperature is too high for the macbook pro? mine recently has been betting really hot in a matter of minutes it has been getting up too 167 degrees (80 degrees C) Is that too hot? what should i do too prevent this?
I always bake cakes and I never used wax paper or aluminum foil, just greas the pan with oil and it'll turn out perfect, GOOD LUCK!
Q: Are there any other 'No-No's' besides drinking and certain Rx drugs and street drugs while breastfeeding?
1Avoid caffeine (or if this is not possible, consume no more than 300mg per day) as caffeine can cause low birth weight2Avoid eating raw meat items, as the risk of salmonella is nothing to joke around with3Avoid spicy foods ( if they can upset your stomach, they will upset the baby!!) 4Avoid alcohol, sleeping pills, and other drugs, unless otherwise advised by your doctor or medical consultant.
Q: ok folksi have about had enough of my snacking habit, i am ordinarily a very lean woman, but the story changed about a month ago when i piled on 10 pounds in one month, i cant seem to control my snacking and desperation to constantly want to be nibbling.I think I have just about tried any and every food suppresant on the market at te minute,,,I have wasted hundreds of buckYes, i do drink water, I do exercise.and i nible on healthy snacks when I can so no common sence answers pleaseIm just looking for a good food suppresantI have tried Hoodia, Phentremine.all the stuff from GNC and Vitamin shoppe.Any ides.i dont care how bizaare it sounds.i'll try it.?
Quick and easy usually don't translate for weight loss in the long runThat's why people have such a hard time keeping weight off - the stats are horrible(What's worse is most end up GAINING all the weight back with some friendsit damages a person's metabolism.) You need to work on relearning portions, feeding yourself some healthy foods and add some exercise to your days You'll lose weight safely and have the knowledge of how to keep it off.
Q: ok so i've got this level assessed task on investigating insulation and my experiment is to find out which material is the best insulatori wrap each of the materials around a test tube filled with hot waterand whichever material keeps the water most warm is the best insulatorhow do i do a preliminary study here? and once i do, what's a trial investgation? and what do i write about what i did and what i found out? explain the decisions you made from this for your actual investigation?
I saw the coolest redneck table on a forward someone sent to me as a jokeIt was an 8 cylinder engine and the 4 pistons on each corner are what held up the glass table top! LOL ! I love it! Depends if you want dining room or coffee table typeI would assume dining table because of it being roundThere's always the old tree stumpThe large spoolI once took a spool and wound a thick nautical looking rope round and round across the top of it then covered it with the glass table topThe rustic look of the spool went well with the nautical lookGood luck!
Q: Hi,I've recently moved into a 30 year old house which current has a warm loftThe insulation is up against the roof with plasterboard keeping it putThere is no insulation in the loft floorThere are also no vents in the eaves which I presume is correct when having a warm loft.My question is how much heat is lost from the bedrooms into the warm loft? And is it very ineffecient to have a warm loft if I only store things up there? We want to keep storing items in the loft but at the same time keep the heat in the bedroomsShould I insulate in the loft floor as well or will this cause me problems with condensation, etcWhat is recommended for this situation? If I insulate the loft floor do I need to remove the insulation in the roof and add some vents in the eaves, therefore converting it into a cold loft? Could I just add some 100mm/170mm thickness insulation in the loft floor to allow some heat to stay in the room and allow some heat into the loft? Many thanks, Paul.
Hi Paul, You can certainly insulate the loft floorWhatever you do, don't remove any insulation, anywhereDon't add vents unless you notice considerable condensation.
