Q: so you know those boxed sink w/ vanitie that the OKorders and Home depot sells. Most of the standard ones are either white or a light oak. Has anyone ever painted or stained the oak one a different color to match their bathroom a little better. Like a darker cherry vs. the light oak that you buy it as ?Was wondering if this could be done, or a good idea, would I have to prime it first, I mean it is wood, it should be able to absorb and accept a good quality wood stain, right ?
If the vanity has a factory finish on it, you will not be able to restain it without a lot of difficulty. The polyurethane finish will not let the stain penetrate the wood. You can use a bonding primer and then a top coat of paint. If you want to stain your own, you should check into buying an unfinished vanity. God Luck
Q: Kemei Lok stainless steel bathroom cabinet how, I want to buy
I was Shandong Wendeng last year in Weihai bought two sets of Merlot stainless steel hand dish. Good quality and my friend's house is the use of solid wood last year after heating cracking. Friends find the seller and manufacturers to discuss to deal with now did not deal with. Haha fortunately did not listen to her husband's
Q: Bathroom cabinet how high the best
Look at the average height of your family, usually 900-1100mm
Q: We are updating our guest bathroom and would like to paint the vanity. It is a double vanity with oak cabinetry (but it is beat up) and beige countertop. We are replacing the beat up wall trim with new painted white trim and the walls are going to be a dark khaki color. We were thinking that paining it white would be to stark and might not look good with the beige countertop. Would it look good to paint the vanity the same dark khaki color as the walls?
Go with a nice deep walnut color on the vanity and finish off with some brushed nickle hardware.
Q: Hello,We are redoing parts of our 2 bathrooms. We are replacing the flooring, the toilet, and the vanity, however we are not doing anything with the showers/tubs. From what I've read you should do the flooring before you do the toilet, but wouldn't you want to do the vanity before you do the flooring? We will most likely be having a professional do the vanity and toilet, however we plan on doing the flooring ourselves. So would we have to have the professional do the vanities, then we do the flooring, then have them come back another day to do the toilets? Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
The toilet will have a specific footprint which will have to be surrounded by the tile (I'm assuming tile flooring). So the toilet would have to be installed first, then the flooring would be properly laid around it as necessary. The flooring should be last to accommodate any footprint changes you do including the vanity placement and size as well. Any painitng or ceiling work should be done before the floor as well. I'd do the floor last.
Q: I am remodeling my master bathroom and I have already ripped out the old vanity and I'm about to put in the new one. The old vanity and top appeared to be of normal length (60'/61'), like the new pair I picked up at OKorders (I did a quick measure and it looked close, so I assumed it was of standard size). However, the geniuses who built my home built the space for the vanity (between a regular wall and a half-wall beside the toilet) exactly 60' wide. So while the vanity will squeeze in, the vanity top won't. I am thinking I will have to end up removing the half-wall, but I want to do as little work as possible. Is there a way to shave an inch off the wall? Anybody think of any ideas? BTW, the vanity top is a marble top, so I doubt I can shave an inch off that.....Thanks in advance.
if this is my bathroom i will just cut the drywall on the both sides of the vanity and slide the granite top in or you can call a company that install granite and they can cut it for you for extra $50-60
Q: I bought a vanity made by American Standard. It has a wood-like paper applied on it, with some material (glaze or varnish etc). Can I use such paper material on the kitchen cabinets? Does it last? Where do they sell wood paper? The stain seems to be fully absorbed by the wood so it is not coming off. I dont like to paint the cabinets. However, this wood paper gives some shade/grain-like look to the bathroom vanity. I want the kitchen cabinets to look similar.
if the sides of the cabinets are melamine then no you cannot buy that paper and apply it yourself. it is done in the manufacturing process and applied to cheaper substrates to give the look of real wood sorry, more affordable substrates is what I meant it can be bought as full sheet like plywood is available but may be too thick to apply to the side of a cabinet without the raw edges being exposed I suppose you could look for a wood grain wallpaper, someone somewhere probably makes it, but I am not sure if that would hold up well on cabinets especially when steam is coming up from a pot on the stove
Q: What is the meaning of the eight-inch hole in the bathroom countertops?
Refers to the mounting hole of the faucet on the table.Often the eight-inch hole is used for the installation of the split basin faucet, there are 3 holes, the left hole to the right hole of the hole with 8 inches (ie 203.2mm), with the middle hole The hole distance is 101.6mm. There are also single hole and four inch hole.
Q: Previous owners left a ton of these and using vinegar + baking soda paste and Barkeeper's Friend hasn't helped lift the stains. Is there a way to bleach them out or cover them up? The vanity is white.
What type of material is it made of? You can visit the local home depot and ask for help. You make be able to paint over the spots.
Q: Our tile floors are beige with other colors (white, browns mainly beige), we are thinking about painting the walls light green. We want to paint the vanity which is 6feet long, any ideas for colours, we are stuck between dark brown, black and white. As well any ideas for countertops?
Most people would suggest traditional pastels or trendy colors such as sage green. For a different twist you may want to consider a medium to light gray with a light yellow accent wall. I've seen this combination in several design books for small bathrooms and it makes quite a statement.
