- Capacitor banks are used to compensate inductive loads such as motors. So capacitors are included when power factor reduces (high inductive load)and are switched off as power factor increases. The capacitors should not overcompensate. Briefly banks are used for variable capacitances.

- Well if you were a minor when the account was open, there are very different laws regarding those than regular accounts. First of all, a minor is never a full signer on an account, so the money was solely hers, just in your benefit. What the girl in the answer above me said is not correct. The statements will not come in your name when you turn 16. Your information as far as your credit or social security number was never run when the account was open so there is no way of tracing it back to you. The only option you would have left is contacting the person that has the power of attorney. She could then call the bank and ask them to search under your aunts social security number and see if there are any accounts open. I know this is a difficult situation. I'm sorry for the long answer, but I hope this helps!
- Q: I’m looking to purchase an inverter for use on my boat. I have 3 12v batteries in parallel, with a switch. So, I save one for ignition, but the other 2 (260AH together) I use for appliances. Most applications are run through 12v, but I’m looking to run an AC mini fridge (propane and 12v fridges are too expensive and I already have this one), one laptop charger (85watts) and 1 usb phone charger. I’ve tried a 400w inverter but apparently the compressor turn on of the fridge is over the 800w surge that the inverter is capable of. So my question is 2. 1, can an 800w (1600w surge) inverter handle this 3 item load? 2, how much power loss will I be incurring from the inefficiency of the power inverter? I was told that a 400w inverter run on standby with no load for 24hrs would use about 9AH from my 12v bank. Not sure if that’s right or wrong or if I can assume an 800w would be 16AH or not?Thanks so much for the help

- a power of attorney has limits, all depends what you have power of attorney over. some power of attorney papers allow you to have financial access, can make medical decisions, there may be only specific things the power of attorney applies to. read it and see what it says.

- You need to be more specific in your question. You need to know what you are trying to filter and what source load and impedences you have and so on. There is no plug and play formula for this question. However, the formula for a capacitor is 1/ jwc.

- Yes, the IRS does have the power to get money from your bank account. It's called a bank levy, but that only happens after they've already sent you notices advising you of their intent to levy and you ignore those notices. Also, these notices are only sent if you owe them money and aren't already taking steps with them to resolve those unpaid taxes. Since you're already in an installment agreement with them and this was a one-time profit, you don't have to worry about the IRS taking your money from your bank account, so go ahead and deposit it. The IRS does have the ability to raise your monthly payments, but only if you show an increased ability to pay (like a new job with higher pay -- something steady and reliable like that, not a one-time sale) and even in that case, they would notify you of your new monthly payments, not just take it from your bank without warning.

The inverter has its own built-in charger as the electricity comes and goes where I live. So far so good. In case there is a power failure for, say, two days. Can I use my car to charge the battery bank? I'm thinking about using jump cables. How long will it take for the alternator to fully charge the four batteries?
- It will work, after a fashion, but: You won't get much charging out of that alternator at idle. (You'll want that engine at about 1200 RPM minimum.) You will be draining the car battery initially. (This might be a serious drain if the battery bank is large in comparison to the car battery.) If the battery bank is much larger than the car battery, you might be overloading the alternator when you first start recharging. Don't let it heat up too much.
