Q: I have a bathtub that the bottom row of tiles are getting loose on the top portion. A few have come out.The row above seems ok.Can the bottom row be resealed or replaced without interfering with the upper tiles? If so how?
I only charged a customer 800 money to repair that ideal issue. The vulnerable link in this equation isn't the gypsum interior the wall board, however the paper this is used to wrap it. interior the case i discussed, the tile replaced into nevertheless caught to the paper however the paper replaced into peeling off the wall. It takes approximately 4 to 5 sheets of a million/2 rock board to interchange the golf green board. this is approximately 60 dollars with fabric. i might strongly propose which you do the job as quickly as, and do it precise. ideal of success.
Q: I have ceramic tile throughout home and in kitchen around one tile the grout or whatever the stuff is between the tile has crumbled and is getting bigger. Can i seal it myself, with what? or do i need to hire a stud to fix it?
The moisture is deterioratng the grout around your sink , you need to get it out ,regrout and seal the grout.Get help.
Q: I have painstakingly cleaned and restored victorian age tiles in hall (using natural and eco products). Wondering what to seal with? Found few eco tile sealants but wondered if anyone used any without distorting the colour? Thanks :)
Most tile have a glazed finish so unless it dose not have it,it will be difficult to seal. You don`t mention wheat her its wall or floor tiles,if it wall tiles you might get away with it.If it floor tiles I think it will cause a problem by walk over it.
Q: Anyone have any experience with using glass mosaic tile as the kitchen counter material (not just as the backsplash)? This would be for a lightly used area of my kitchen counter by the sink - not the primary work area. Would love to hear any pros and cons. Thanks!

Q: but now we have decided to probably go with laminate tile in each. Mainly time is the big thing, I know I can put that in but not sure about tile. Anyways is this a good decision. Does anyone have experience with laminate tile and if so can you recommend where or what brand to look at. Also can you give me an idea of pricing..Thanks...
Are you talking about vinyl squares or Laminate flooring that snaps together? It makes a big difference. If it is vinyl squares Home Depot does have a huge selection, but it will look cheap and that stuff does not stick very well for long term in a very wet area. If it is laminate flooring it will look nicer and will hold up to the moisture better. You will need to caulk the perimeter with silicone. (water on top is o.k. water under the floor and its all over very quickly.) Hope this helps
Q: Has anyone ever used the spray glaze you can use to paint ceramic tile? I have some ugly green tile on the walls in my bathroom, and I don‘t want to get into busting it out. I saw it used on HGTV, but I want to know if any REAL people have used it? If so, was it expensive? Easy to use? Did it run? I will take any other ideas anyone has for an inexpensive way to do something with this horrible green!
It's called re-glazing. There are companies out there that re-glaze bathtubs and ceramic tile. A bathtub can cost about $700 to re-glaze. Home improvement centers have re-glazing kits but they are only as good as the applicator. What's more important than the re-glazing kit, is the preparation. The glaze on the green tile needs to be dulled by acid washing. If you go over the green tile with it's slick surface, the re-glazing will peel off...
Q: I‘m having a small bathroom remodled. The floor isn‘t perfectly rectangular, there are some uneven areas because of the tub. I would like the opinion of a profession tiler (should there be one put there, somewhere)...should the floor tiles always be centered, or start lined up against a wall? Also, should the grout be completely dry before sealing it? Thanks.
You start from the centre always and lay tiles towards the edges. At the tub you take off the removable side and put the tiles under the tub a few inches. Refit the side but will need to take off some of the bottom edge. Get the first tiles exactly square and away you go. Grout should be dried out for at least 3 days before adding a sealant. Also before laying tiles cover the area with 6mm ply wood so that the whole floor is even otherwise you will/might get uneven tiles. Happy New Year.
Q: I live in Tennessee near nashville, I want to recarpet and ceramic tile in my house but want an estimated cost, of how much so i dont get jipped It‘s a 2,000 sq ft house and.. its two bath one kitchen for tile and three bedroom and living room and hallway for carpet.. anyone know where i can get help i dont want to overpay at all! also empire company has anyone ever done business with them? know if they are good at all///?
carpet for the mid range runs $25 a square yard up to $50 a square yard you get what you pay for if you go cheaper than the mid range Ive always been told buy the best quality pad that you can afford a friend paid over $5,000 for her tiny living room, hall, dining cove, bedroom - less than 5 60 sq feet ( padding, carpet, instillation )
Q: Bathroom Tiling Job?
use underlayment for tile or vinyl flooring specially use for that surface to eliminate rough areas. Also it makes flooring even with adjoining rooms, The ply you are referring to the sub floor. The toilet flange gasket can make up the difference in height depending on buying number 1, 2, or 3. I would only use 1/4 underlayment.
Q: Flatness of the thickness of the wall and how the number of pounds
7 test slip resistance This may be most of the staff of the tile shop will show you, so you directly on the tiles surface trample, feel slippery slip, but we think about what circumstances will be slipped on the floor tiles? Should be when there is water, some brick surface will be a very slippery water, will fall, so the test should be in the tiles surface sprinkle some water to simulate the real situation, and must personally step on the brick test , Some brick water will be more slippery, and some tiles will be more waterproof after the water, recommend this type. 8 other details In the process of selecting the tiles I suggest that we must go to the store to see, color and quality is difficult to see from the Internet, you can go to the store selected models, and then to the Internet to buy. No matter from which channel to buy, and businesses must be sure who is good delivery, is sent to the downstairs or sent to the home, is not free replenishment replacement. Because tiles such building materials is really very heavy, with their own simply can not move home. But also in the handling process is very likely to cause damage to the tiles, it is best to let the business to your handling, so that a problem can find him, if you find the construction team workers to move you, that tiles in the handling process is damaged, the basic It is your own money to replenish the goods.
