Q: Why do objects made of metal feel colder than objects made of wood?: I think the truest metal should be 1) firmly rooted in the heavy metal tradition without any crossovers to other genres, 2) be as loud as obnoxious as it can be (metal isn't supposed to be very listenable), 3) fast, as it's always been that way (although metal got a lot faster over the decades) 4) intended as a means of expression rather than a means to make money (which doesn't mean that rich artists are untrue, it might also be because they are just really really good). I think that leaves us with death metal, black metal and thrash/speed metal. Before thrash there was already the new wave of British heavy metal, and black metal was influenced by a band like venom as well, for example, so I don't agree that thrash put metal on the map. Try to find a band you've never heard of, is faster than slayer, never compromised their style, has the harshest vocals you can imagine, has been together for at least 20 years, and only available on cassette tapes; then you're getting close to finding the truest metal!

Q: Black metal is never normally really associated with technical skill although there are definitely bands that are more than proficient. Some however seem to stand out abit more, and one of those bands imo is Abgott.: Modern technical death metal is pretty god awful. As well as modern brutal death metal. Luckily the rise of new-old school death metal bands is overtaking the influence of those terrible, terrible bands. And Its not as bad as Nintendocore..., HEY, there's only one nintendocore band and that's HORSE the Band, and HORSE the Band rules. HtB only made up the term nintendocore as a joke, then other douchebags thought it'd be funny to try and make it a real thing. NO. But if you would consider crunkcore in the metal spectrum (which I probably wouldn't), then it is far and away the worst. But apart from that, probably nu-metal. I still love System of a Down and Deftones and I still respect Slipknot for getting me into extreme metal (I know they're not extreme metal themselves, but they got me into it), but just about every nu-metal band otherwise sounds absolutely boring as hell to me.

Q: Are metals crystalline? Explain.: Metal is to rock as rock is to blues, basically. At first, when it was first emerging in the late 60s and early 70s with bands like Blue Cheer and Black Sabbath, it was indeed just a sub genre of rock; however, that was a LONG time ago, and is no longer the case. It has since grown into it's own, independent genre, with numerous INCREDIBLY varied and distinct subgenres.

Q: why can metals conduct? and what is metallic bonding?: No, usually the transition metals (of which iron is classified as) demonstrate maleable and ductile qualities most characteristic of metals. Bismuth is a very brittle metal.

Q: For me, It's currently Industrial Metal.: My fav metal band is Judas Priest. They're a British classic metal band. Check out Nighcrawler, Hell Patrol, and Living After Midnight (more of a rock song, but still great). There's also their song Metal Meltdown... That's a good one. Also, I love Iron Maiden... Another classic metal band!!! I'm sure you know who they are ;D A modern metal band... There's System of a Down, which is my fav. They're metal, so don't listen to somebody if they say they aren't... Just listen to their Toxicity CD. They're a progressive-rock/metal/doom-metal(psyche... genre. They rock pretty hard dude. Another modern one is Children of Bodem, which is more death metal than anything...
