- Q: Beside Metal: a headbanger's journey
- Alkali metals are reactive because of their ionization energies. Ionization energy is the energy required to remove one electron from the atom. Alkali metals have only one valence electron, and if you'll recall all atoms want to be noble gases, i.e. they want full valence shells. Since alkali metals have this one electron in their valence shell, they'll readily give away their one electron than attempt to pull in seven electrons. Since alkali metals have such low ionization energies, and nature likes to use the least amount of energy possible for reactions, alkali metals tend to give up or share these electrons very, very easily. Hence, sodium explodes in water. :)
- Q: give about the introduction of late transition metals..pls...
- Nu Metal is pretty much Rap/Hip-Hop mixed with Metal. Slipknot tends to mix a lot of screaming into their songs(which makes them one of the better Nu Metal bands).
- Q: Could someone give me a complete list of all noble metals?

- I haven't any concept on the way that can assist you right here, yet i'm in precisely an analogous boat. I in simple terms manage in allowing whoever i'm chatting with say this style of despite music and artist, whilst retaining my mouth close till they talk first.
- Q: what are metals use for
- The two things that I enjoy the most in music are (1) power and (2) melody. Heavy metal is the genre I find that in. Personally, I don't pay much attention to the image that goes along with metal music in some people's minds. Most people I know don't listen to metal and don't even know that I listen to metal. Rebellion or appearing cool have nothing to do with it. I like what I like. BQ: Power/Prog metal. My favorite band at the moment is Sonata Arctica. BQ2: If you consider Bon Jovi heavy metal, my first album was New Jersey. BQ3: 11, but I had been listening to the glam stuff since I was 8. BQ4: I couldn't care less what other people's views of Metal are (if you couldn't gather that from the fact that I put forward Bon Jovi as a metal artist).
- Q: I was going to use baby oil to make the metal shiny.
- Well, that would be hydrogen gas. When a metal reacts with water hydrogen is always produced. Also, depending on the reacting metal a hydroxide or an oxide is produced. When you look at the electrochemical series of metals then the first metals, the active ones (Li - Mg/Al), form a hydroxide when reacting with water. For example: 2Na + 2H2O -> 2NaOH + H2. Metals from Mn to Fe form an oxide (when heated - water must be in a vapourised state). For example: Zn + H2O -> ZnO + H2. Metals starting from Ni don't react with water. I wrote Mg/Al when talking about active metals because normally the surface of aluminium is protected by its oxide and therefore the reaction doesn't take place very easily. However, if the oxide is removed then aluminium and water react very well and produce a hydroxide. I hope that helps! Have a nice day!
- Q: In what ways do metalloids differ from true metals?
- Electrolysis of the molten compound. As these metals are very reactive you need a very strong reducing system to produce the metal. A cathode is a powerful reducing system. If you try to do a displacement reaction, you would need a more reactive metal than the one you are trying to extract. Even if possible, it would be very expensive and dangerous to handle.
- Q: in what order do the metal series games go I don't mean storyline wise (talking about snake eater) I mean in what order were they released so that I know in what order they were meant to be played
- C-nonmetal Te-metalloid Ga-M Xe-inert gas Po-metalloid Ag-M Ca-M Gd-M
- Q: What metals are most commonly recycled. Just gimme a big *** list :P
- Deicide - Scars of the Crucifix Deicide - Bible Basher Slayer - Reigning Blood
- Q: Rock - all that isn't defined as metal
- i like the style you're saying you do no longer choose for bands that are mainstream and nicely usual and have not offered out for funds. i assume Metallica, toddler Rock, Slipknot, Judas Priest, and something of them are the cool, indie bands that no person's heard of yet.
