- Q: I have four rooted cuttings of Plumeria. They were all in a pot with Miracle grow soil on the bottom, and Vermiculite for the rest. All four were in one pot until they rooted. Well, they did and they were doing great, and then I put them in seperate pots, and the medium I used was a mixture of sand, perlite, vermiculite, and Miracle Grow soil. They aren‘t doing so well anymore and it has been two weeks. They aren‘t dying, they just quit growing. Should I put them back into the same kind of medium they were in to begin with? Or should I just leave them alone, as I am afraid to keep re-planting them.
- Let them be. They're probably just in shock from the transplant, and will resume growing when they're ready. So long as they're not dying, I wouldn't worry.
- Q: Ok so I have vermiculite soil, coffee, and coco coir. Will I have to buy spores from the internet or can they just grow with all that. Mixed together
- initiate doing learn on the kinds of Leopard Gecko's there additionally are people can understand you as a breeder via printing posters and staple them to bushes outdoors and partitions additionally make an internet site
- Q: Should I add bagged manure to my potting soil when I plant tomatoes?
- Potting soil is primarily peat moss with composted bark and perlite and sometimes vermiculite and sand. It has no nutritional value, although some do contain small amounts of regular or slow release fertilizer. Its primary attributes are its acid pH and resistance to plant pathogens. So, yes you can add bagged manure to the potting soil. However, the average amount of the 3 main plant nutrients found in cattle manure is rather small— 0.6N, 0.2P, 0.5K. Its main value is in stimulating beneficial bacteria growth in soil and thereby unlocking some nutrients. In addition to the main 3 there are a host of secondary and micro nutrients that are important to tomatoes. For instance, lack of calcium can cause blossom end rot. I suggest you add a fully balanced fertilizer or combination of fertilizers that address all the nutrient needs of tomatoes.
- Q: My orchid plants leaves are turning yellow and falling offam I giving too much waTER OR NOT ENOUGH?
- From what you have said, obviously they have been through an ordeal due to being dried out and being shipped. Being dried out is not necessarily a problem, because some orchid genus endure periods of drought in their natural environment. Others, however, cannot tolerate it. So, to really help you, we need to know what kind of orchids you bought. One thing I would be wondering about is if they experienced severe cold during shipping. They may be losing leaves due to this rather than due to anything you have done, and now that they are in a less stressful environment again they may recover just fine, albeit with a loss of some foliage. Again, knowing what orchids you have would be helpful in giving suggestions as to how you can best care for them. There are literally thousands of different kinds, each with its own needs as far as light, water, temperature, and humidity go. One thing that rarely helps and that often is fatal is over-, not under-watering. If you planted them in good quality orchid mix, watering them every couple of days is too much.
- Q: working on incubating 11 red eared slider eggs - 3rd year in a row, but the temp. these days is colder outside. They are inside in vermiculite and peet moss and they have another 20 days to hatch, they are forming, but the temp is dropping from 86 degrees to 79 degrees. Any suggestions?
- I have used a hovabator incubator to successfully incubate red ear eggs.
- Q: Okay. Im new at the whole lizard business. Im a 17 year old female wanting a leopard gecko. I have been researching these geckos for over a month. I plan to have one gecko, so should i have a 10 or 15 gallon tank? I definately settled on reptile carpet for the bottom. Crickets dusted with calcium fed on daily basis, or mealworms, and wax worms as treats. How often should meal time be? Should i get an adult or juvienile lizard to start? And my biggest question, where to get my lizard? A lot of people say ones from pet shop are mean/unhealthy. Im living in Rome, Georiga so what breeder does anyone recommend thats not too far away and is reputable?
- nylon brush, dishsoap, and lots of water / rinse well NO chemicals, tireshine, or armorall type stuff (makes tires slick, crack, etc.)
- Q: Hi. My sulcata just lay 20 eggs. I have a chick incubator that was given to me. What are the procedure that is needed to incubate my sulcata eggs? I'm been doing some research online some say to incubate them in a closed container, and some say to incubate them in an open container? Can Yahoo Answer provide me with a definite answer as to how to incubate the eggs? Also a exact detail as to what are the procedure and what stuff to look for doing incubation. Do I need to spray mist water on the eggs? Thanks.
- It is also called Vermiculite in Denmark:
- Q: I'm mixing water and vermiculite for an incubation medium for gecko eggs. The ration is six parts vermiculite by weight and 4 parts water by weight. If the vermiculite is 25.1 grams what should the water be? Also can I see your equation you used for future reference? Thanks for your time
- You left out some steps. You should mix the water, vermiculite and brown rice flour(ground brown rice) and place it in a jar and place the jar in boiling water or pressure cooker. Generally they are mixed together in the right ratio. One part brown rice flower, one part water and two parts vermiculite is the recommended ratio. Mix the water and vermiculite first. Then add brown rice flour. Place it half way full in a jar and cover it tightly with aluminum foil. Boil it for 20 minutes being careful that the water level is low enough that it doesn't get into the jars. Pressure cooking is better but not necessary. Let it cool down. Inject the spores. After a week or so it should start turning white. At some point you need to put it in a fruiting chamber. I would probably do that at about 2 weeks or when the mycelium had established itself. It needs to be exposed to light or mushrooms won't form. Mushrooms also generally need more ventilation at that point.
- Q: I‘m doing a PJAS project and I really need help so I can have more informations of the root‘s daily growth. Thank you for those who help me! lt;3lt;3lt;3
- Plant it in an old aquarium, or anything with clear sides, right next to the glass. I did peanuts that way.
- Q: I wanted to mist the vermiculite but by accident the eggs got a little damp. Is that okay? And also, do they sit at the top of the vermiculite or do they have to be buried?
- No. A vermiculite - cement provides a stable surface for the pool bottom. An extra heavy spot loading on your pool floor will result in the vermiculite compressing slightly and distributing the loading so as not to, less likely, damage the floor. A sand - cement pool bottom, while not as rigid as a concrete slab, will provide a very stable surface but it will not dent to relieve a heavy spot load and damage to your pool surface is more likely. The vermiculite strength is not as great as a sand and therefore results in a softer yet adequately stable pool surface.
