- That is a tough question to answer with the data given. Something is seriously WRONG! If it was recently installed and still under warranty I'd IMMEDIATELY call the installers and have them repair the unit. A three ton unit is too large for a small and well insulated house. 2 ton maximum for a house like yours. Anything larger is a waste of energy, will short cycle, and will never lower the humidity to a comfortable level. You should NEVER have hot air being discharged into your living area if the system is operating properly. If you mean the house is not comfortable, but the unit is working correctly, then it is because the unit is TOO large.

- Q:The cars heating control is stuck on vent. No matter what selection I put it on (heat,defrost, heat/defrost etc:)After replacing the htr control switch and finding out that was not the problem. I found a broken vaccum line. After replacing the the bad section of line. I was able to turn on the defroster, heater, etc. I thought the problem was fixed. A few hours later I started the car and the heat control was again stuck on vent. Now im right back to square 1. Any Ideas on what the problem could be would be greatly appreciated. - There are so many brands and models of smoke detectors and I'm not familiar with any brand names. All the detectors I have been exposed to have had a test button that when pushed would go into a system check sequence followed by the alarm [very loud] for 30 seconds or so [I never put a stopwatch on it] and turned off by itself. My understanding is that each time you press the test button starts the self check sequence and the alarm sequence all over again.

How can the school administration just tell 1600+ people to ignore an alarm? - Years ago almost all farm houses had lighting rods. Now days it is very UN-common. First I would check and make sure your home owner insurance covers all damage caused by a lighting strike. If so I wouldn't pay the high cost of installing rods. If it doesn't and you can't get it then you might want to look into it. Get a good person to do the work and inspect not only the work but compare bill to material. Many companies out there will sell you something you didn't receive.
