Calcium Silicon Powder
1. Description:
Silicon Calcium Alloy is a stable compound; it is supplied in the form of solid with approximate melting point of 1245°C and boiling point 1800°C in normal atmospheric pressure.
Solubility in water reacts with moist gas and water.
Silicon Calcium Alloy is a potent deoxidizer and desulfurizer utilized in the production of high grade steels. Although Silicon itself is a powerful deoxidizer, Calcium is by far more powerful. In addition, Calcium Silicon is used to control the shape, size and distribution of oxide and sulfide inclusions improving fluidity, machinability, ductility, and impact properties of the final product. Calcium Silicon can be obtained in lump or powder form. The most widely used method for intergraded steel applications is in the form of cored wire. This is mainly because calcium has a low density and high reactivity in the ladle making it difficult to introduce and retain in the melt. Cored wire eliminates these variables.

- Q: I get confused when you start throwing black metal sub genres at me. Im just now discovering deafheaven and people describe them as blackgaze and I have no idea what that is nor what post black metal is. Deafheaven sounds like atmospheric black metal to me?
- A metal (Greek: Metallon) is an element that readily forms positive ions (cations) and has metallic bonds. Metals are sometimes described as a lattice of positive ions surrounded by a cloud of delocalized electrons. The metals are one of the three groups of elements as distinguished by their ionisation and bonding properties, along with the metalloids and nonmetals. On the periodic table, a diagonal line drawn from boron (B) to polonium (Po) separates the metals from the nonmetals. Elements on this line are metalloids, sometimes called semi-metals; elements to the lower left are metals; elements to the upper right are nonmetals. A modern definition of metals is that they have overlapping conduction bands and valence bands in their electronic structure. This definition opens up the category for metallic polymers and other organic metals, which have been made by researchers and employed in high-tech devices. These synthetic materials often have the characteristic silvery-grey reflectiveness of elemental metals. The traditional definition focuses on the bulk properties of metals. They tend to be lustrous, ductile, malleable, and good conductors of electricity, while nonmetals are generally brittle (for solid nonmetals), lack lustre, and are insulators. Rest all are non metals.

- Q: Hi. Is metal a renewable resource or a non renewable one? Thanks in advance!
- I would agree that they are Nu-metal, which, as a sub-genre of Metal, makes them Metal. Metalheads, more than all others, love to nitpick about subgenres and argue about what metal subgenre certain bands and songs fall into.

- Metalloid is a term used in chemistry when classifying the chemical elements. On the basis of their general physical and chemical properties, nearly every element in the periodic table can be termed either a metal or a nonmetal - however a few elements with intermediate properties are referred to as metalloids. (In Greek metallon = metal and eidos = sort) There is no rigorous definition of the term, however the following properties are usually considered characteristic of metalloids: metalloids often form amphoteric oxides. metalloids often behave as semiconductors (B,Si,Ge) to semimetals (eg. Sb). The concepts of metalloid and semiconductor should not be confused. Metalloid refers to the properties of certain elements in relation to the periodic table. Semiconductor refers to the physical properties of materials (including alloys, compounds) and there is only partial overlap between the two. The following elements are generally considered metalloids: Boron (B) Silicon (Si) Germanium (Ge) Arsenic (As) Antimony (Sb) Tellurium (Te) Polonium (Po) Some allotropes of elements exhibit more pronounced metal, metalloid or non-metal behavior than others. For example, for the element carbon, its diamond allotrope is clearly non-metallic, however the graphite allotrope displays limited electric conductivity more characteristic of a metalloid. Phosphorus, tin, selenium and bismuth also have allotropes which display borderline behavior. In the standard layout of the periodic table, metalloids occur along the diagonal line through the p block from boron to astatine. Elements to the upper right of this line display increasing nonmetallic behaviour; elements to the lower left display increasing metallic behaviour. This line is called the stair-step or staircase. The poor metals are to the left and down and the nonmetals are to the right and up. In addition, the halogens are found at the right.
- Q: I enjoy power metal and their artists. Artists like: Blind Guardian, NightWish, Iced Earth, HammerFall, and many more. So, anyone a power metal fan out there as much as i do.
- Metal has gotten too many titles these days what you consider Doom Metal I consider Death Metal. This particular band may be a little slower than normal Death Metal nonetheless its Death Metal. Anyway Similar Bands in my eyes include: Satyricon, Celtic Frost, and Bathory And these three bands Have a serious Doom sound if you must put a label on it.
- Q: Who else here loves metal? Speak up!
- Thrash- Metallica Death- Sepultura Black- Mayhem Crossover - Van Halen Power- Dio Heavy Metal- Motorhead Doom- Black Sabbath
- Q: I just need some cool facts about the Transition metals. Like I said the first two times, I am working on an Inquiry on the periodic table
- there are bands who are softer than them who get classified as metal, so simply saying they're not heavy enough doesn't cut it, the line that separates hard rock from metal is really arbitrary sometimes.
- Q: A friend of mine got me interested in checking out the Metal Gear video game series. I know that the PlayStation games start out with the first Metal Gear Solid game, and before that, there were two Metal Gear games for the NES. Unfortunately, I don't have an NES system, but I am really interested in checking the games out. So, my question is, is it really necessary to play the NES Metal Gear games in order to start on Metal Gear Solid? Does playing Metal Gear give you any understanding of the series needed for playing the first Metal Gear Solid game?
- 3 Examples of metals which are used to coat other metals would be Gold, Chromium, and Zinc. Gold is used to coat other metals for a couple of reasons, 1) Gold is a ‘pretty’ metal which people will pay money to have things made of. But Gold is also an expensive metal (several hundred dollars per ounce), so one can get the same visual effect of having a gold ___ if it is just gold-plated and not solid gold, thus making it cheaper. 2) Gold is a chemically inert metal; it will not react with many things, and also has a very high electrical conductivity, so coating some other metal with gold will improve its chemical resistance to corrosion and lower its electrical resistance. Chromium metal is used to coat other metals for similar reasons, --Chromium is less reactive than many other metals so one can “Chrome-plate” a more reactive metal with Chromium and help protect the metal from corrosion. For example, many car’s have ‘chrome-plated’ bumpers. is --Also, Chromium is a visually appealing metal so having a nice shinny Chrome-plate bumper is considered more desirable than a rusty old Iron bumper. Zinc metal is used for a much different reason, --Zinc is more chemically react than most other metals and is not a particular pretty metal either. Zinc is often used as a sacrificial metal to help protect other metals. For example, many things like nails, screws, washers, …., are Zinc-plated to help protect those [Iron] parts from rusting. The Zinc will oxidize before the Iron, thus protecting the Iron at the expense of the Zinc.
- Q: How is the electrical conductivity of a metal explained by metallic bonds?
- Pop. Heavy metal too loud. I love: Eagles Beatles Coldplay
- Q: and how many metal gear games are there and howmany metal gear solids?
- Everyone will probably say metal because they are the most elitist fans around. They won't give the time of day for any other genre. I speak from personal experiences. Personally, I can't stand listening to it. I like hardcore like Carpathian, but not totally. It gets boring. I would go with metalcore, something like From Autumn to Ashes.
