- the question is vague due to the fact that galaxies cover many lightyears of space,due you mean the closest star of the galaxy vs the star equal the distance, do you mean the center of the galaxy vs the star, or do you mean the entire vs the star. Doesn't matter high big the light source (provided it doesn't decrease from point A to point B), light is light and if both light sources are equal the distance than both with arrive at the same time

- Q: It only lights up about 10 seconds then goes off. The dash board lights goes out too.
- Go check your relay for your headlights, remove and test with a 9volt battery if you have one laying around, it should make a click sound. Look at the bottom of he relay and you'll see numbers, put the 9volt battery on numbers 85 and 86. If you get a click out of it, bam you should be money. Now you might have a computer issue or there is a ground wire loose or a power wire that is touching ground somewhere or haha sorry it could be lots of things, you are having to many amps on that circuit and it pops a internal virtual fuse in the computer which later it will reset itself, or your stalk switch is messed up. Sorry to write so much I know it really dont help much but that's what it could be honestly, oh yeah forgot, do this first, for Sh!T and giggles, check the connection at the light bulb and the headlight bulbs themselves.
