- Q: What are some foods that are high in Iron besides meat and leafy greens?
- Unsulphured dried apricots, molasses, nettle (you can get it in tea form or pick your own and add into soups/stews), beans, nuts, wholegrains and soya flour. Vitamin C aids in the absorption of iron so it's a good idea to combine iron rich food with vit c rich foods. If you're low in iron, avoid drinking tea (including green tea) and coffee as they affect your bodies ability to absorb iron.
- Q: Is the Iron Age the age when the best things were made out of pure iron? Or is it the later age when the best things were made out of steel (which is iron plus carbon)? And if it‘s the latter, then shouldn‘t it be called the Steel Age?
- It is the period following the time that people learned to smelt iron, that is, removing it from it's ores. This probably first began in Mesopotamia and people such as the Hittites had a great advantage over their bronze age enemies. Finding metallic iron in nature was a very rare event, probably from meteorites. Steel came latter but at first was made in small quantities, primarily for weapons and armor. Iron was still much more commonly used. It is not as commonly used today but still endures in applications that do not require the strength or hardness of steel and its lower cost such as cast iron and ornamental iron. This became possible when furnaces were invented that made the low-cost production of quality steel possible. See the open-hearth and Bessemer processes for dates.
- Q: 1 ) the nutrient substance iron, right ?2 ) I think I have an iron deficiency. What foods/drinks are rich in iron ?
- You are put on a life support to help you breathe.
- Q: Our teacher gave me a sheet to study on for a test and i dont know the answer to 1 questionit says to discuss how the chemical differences between the iron in the tablets and the iron in the nails are related to their uses
- I think Iron is just Iron, it does not change
- Q: I‘m a teenage girl and I‘m almost positive I have an iron deficiency, or anemia, or whatever.I get tired all the time, I‘m unusually pale, I have trouble walking a flight of stairs (I‘m not obese, my weight is normal for my height), and I can sleep for 10 hours but wake up as tired as I was before. How many milligrams of iron should I take? I heard if you take too many it can lead to death. and should I consult a doctor before doing so?
- if you are going to take tablets, then of coarse you need to consult your doctor. but before you do this you might think about how you are eating. not eating enough or extreme dieting can cause this (that's what happened to me). if i were you i would try eating more red meat before you decide you are going to take the tablets. this is a safer more natural way of getting the iron you need (as long as you don't eat to much of it). red meat is loaded with iron and girls need more iron than men because they menstruate (same goes for calcium). you lose a lot of iron and calcium when you bleed. Hope this helps! Please pick me for best answer!
- Q: what do you think about chi irons
- they work great for a wile. until they break. they break easily. trust me ive had thm. most ppl usually choose between the chi the solia and the sedu. wile all r great the sedus is the best. and its not just endorsed bcuz of celebrity crap. i have it and so does my frend. my othr frend has a solia. and the frend wit the sedu used to have the chi and lol i used it all the time. then it broke and she bought a sedu which YAY has a 2 yr warranty. lol. ive onli just gotton it and it works great!! my frends had it for a wile tho now and its still strong and ive heard of ppl whove had it for 4 years. and the solias ok but the sedus better. on my hair i onli have 2 go down once and my hair stays straight up until the next time i wash it. so the chis OK but sedu is way better. 1sedu 2chi 3solia
