- Q: This tube is found when u remove the silver engine cover.I need to buy this tube cos its broken. It looks like an exhaust oil channel (not sure). it was noted to be broken/cot during a recent service and I was told only citroen dealers can have it in stock.Car runs fine but I occasionally smell oil while driving.
- It sounds like some kind of breather pipe to me, probably the best thing to do is to roll into your local Citroen dealer and ask someone in parts to look at it and they should be able to get you one then.
- Q: I use a length of plastic tubing and after using it for a while (few months) it changed from clear to opaque. It had been exposed to heat, alcohol and water, nothing else. If you know why it changed colors please fill me in. Also, I would like to know if it is changed chemically that might effect things traveling through it or if it is merely a cosmetic change and I can ignore it for the most part.
- If the plastic tubing was exposed to heat, then the resultant color change was most like due to a disruption in the chemical lattice of the plastic. A plastic is basically a polymer or group of polymers (polymer=same chemical compound repeated over and over again). When heat or another energy source is apllied, it has the ability to alter the polymer structure. Think of a polymer in similar terms as a crystal; all of the compounds in the plastic will align themselves in a similar way as the previous compound. When you do this with minerals, you end up with a clear or partially clear crystal. The same basic principal applies to polymers (plastics). Hope this helps!! P.S. some chemicals have the same ability to alter the plastic, same as an enrgy source..
- Q: How do plastic tubes compare to nylon tubes in terms of strength?
- Plastic tubes generally have lower strength compared to nylon tubes. Nylon tubes are known for their superior strength, durability, and resistance to wear and tear. They can withstand higher pressures and have better tensile strength, making them more suitable for applications requiring high performance and reliability.
- Q: What industries use plastic tubes?
- There are various industries that use plastic tubes, including the healthcare industry for medical devices and packaging, the construction industry for plumbing and electrical systems, the automotive industry for fuel and fluid transfer, the food and beverage industry for packaging and processing, and the cosmetics industry for product packaging.
- Q: I am making a functional balloon water pipe. if at all possible a valve with an electric switch would be ideal so it could be activated from inside a balloon. the tubing will be inside the balloons so they can be pressurized around the tubes. after the tubing is filled with smoke it will be sealed off and the pressure from a balloon will be released forcing the smoke through the tubing inside the pipe. this is what the valve would be used for. a simple ball valve would work, but if there is an electric version small and cheap enough or an alternative im open to suggestions.
- Gag, what a dumb concept - balloons break. All kinds of small valves are available for plastic tubing for use in medicine but turning on and off the pump is probably the cheapest. You need surgical rubber tubing to be soft and compressible which is probably going to be damaged by the smoke and how are you going to clean this thing?
- Q: How do plastic tubes compare to stainless steel tubes in terms of corrosion resistance?
- Plastic tubes generally offer better corrosion resistance compared to stainless steel tubes. While stainless steel is known for its durability and resistance to corrosion, it can still be affected by certain chemicals and environments. On the other hand, plastic tubes, particularly those made from materials like PVC or PTFE, are highly resistant to corrosion, making them a preferred choice in applications where corrosive substances or environments are present.
- Q: How do plastic tubes compare to aluminum tubes in terms of corrosion resistance?
- Plastic tubes generally have superior corrosion resistance compared to aluminum tubes. While aluminum is prone to oxidation and corrosion when exposed to moisture or certain chemicals, plastic tubes are more resistant to these factors. Additionally, plastic tubes are typically non-reactive with a wide range of substances, making them a better choice for corrosion-sensitive applications.
- Q: What flange plate is used to connect the plastic pipe to the flange valve?
- Flange flange and pipe connection requirements are the same, only the welding materials for plastic welding, welding material should be the same as the parent material.
- Q: What are the advantages of using plastic tubes in the cosmetic packaging industry?
- Plastic tubes offer several advantages in the cosmetic packaging industry. Firstly, they are lightweight, making them easy to handle and transport. Secondly, plastic tubes are highly customizable, allowing for various shapes, sizes, and colors to cater to different product needs. Additionally, plastic is a durable material that provides excellent protection for the cosmetic products, preventing leakage or contamination. Plastic tubes are also cost-effective compared to other packaging materials, making them a popular choice for both small and large cosmetic companies. Lastly, plastic tubes are highly versatile, enabling innovative designs and functionalities like easy dispensing mechanisms, which enhance user convenience.
- Q: I'm doing a science fair project and I am in great need of test tubes.-Thanks! =]
- I don't think so. Test tubes can be bought in specialty stores like educational or medical supplies. I bought my son's plastic test tubes from educational supplies.
