Toddler bed to big bed? Or did you skip the toddler bed all together?: We didn't bother with the toddler bed at all. We went straight from the crib to a twin size, but we used side rails for the first few months. We did this all when he turned 2.

I would def put her on the bottom with a bed rail on the bed. But does it still seem to young? Space is a huge problem for us right now. What about a bed without nightstands?: I would definitely put the bed on a bed frame to raise it up off the ground and put lots of pillows on it to make it look like a big fluffy bed. I'd also have a big headboard too. And I would definitely put in two night stands, maybe just one, but two would be better and put nice lamps on the night stands. You want to make it homey and comfy looking. Inviting and warm.
