Can be done many different ways. Hot working is defined as working the metal at the recrystallization temperature (the temperature at which a cold worked structure will be fully recrystallized in 1 hour). As a rule of thumb, the rexstal temp is one half the absolute melting point for pure metals (the homologous temperature). This rule of thumb can be off significantly when you are dealing with alloys, particularly highly alloyed compositions. In these cases, the alloying can increase the recrystallization temperature and, therefore, require higher temperatures to achieve hot working. Hope this helps.

The elements in the lower-left corner are the most reactive metals and the elements in the upper-right corner (beside noble gases, they generally don't react at all) are the most reactive non-metals.
