Q: I installed a heat cable on my parents roof and plugged it in to test itI put my finger on it and could tell it was warm I was wondering how warm does something need to be for you to feel that it is warm With our body temperature being 98 degrees or something If I felt something at 98 degrees seems like that would burn me? Also with the heat cable being outside (80 degrees) wouldn't it have to be warmer than that to actually feel its warm?Second part is I'm trying to heat my one chromium wire to like 45 degrees(I only need it to melt snow) But I run electricity through itI can't feel it getting any warmerThen I realize room temperature (I assume the temperature of the wire) is already more then that?
Skin temperature is a steady 85FYour electric blanket feels exactly right at exactly 85F, whatever the control has to be set at to reach that temperatureYour forearm is good for 110FThat is why mothers shake a drop of milk on their forearm before giving the bottle to BabyA thing is hot enough to cause pain at 140FA heat tape applied to a pipe doesn't have any distinctive feel except no iceYou need some insulation for the pipe, so ask the clerk at the hardware store how to be sure the whole setup is working rightMy first thought is some sort of a thermometerThose are cheap and you can stick one through the insulation and leave it there permanentlyYou're trying to melt snow on a roof? That is a rather heroic project! I think it's preferred to make the roof strong enough to take the weightIce sliding off a roof is not nice.
Q: Hi,how does Space Shuttle columbia relate to thermal energy transfer? Thanks so much!! :)
Very bad idea! You can ruin your stove doing thatUse a microwave if you don't have a proper panDon't put the foil in the microwave, eitherJust covering my bases.
Q: Sl 1, bring yarn to RS of work, return slipped st back to LH needle, turn work, sl 1 purlwise.bvasically how can you tell which is the rght and wrong side of the work also what does purlwise meen when it says slip one purlwise also when it says turn work what does that mean?thanks
The right (also called public) side of knitted fabric is the side that will be visible when the garment is wornThe wrong (also called private) side is the side that will be hidden when wornShe's asking you to bring the yarn to the right side so that when you slip the stitch you will be wrapping the yarn around it in a specific directionThis will become important later on when she tells you to pick up the wraps (you're probably doing some short rows)You slip a stitch knitwise by inserting the right needle tip as if you were going to knit the stitch, then pulling it off the left needle without knitting itYou slip a stitch purlwise by inserting the right needle tip as if you were going to purl the stitch, then pulling it off the left needle without knitting itYou are knitting a flat piece of fabricSince you must knit across rows going from right to left (unless you learn to knit backwards), then at some point you're going to reach the end of the row and run out of stitchesTo start again, you'll need to turn the fabric overSimply place the full needle in your left hand and the empty needle in your right hand and you will have turned your work, all ready for the next row to be knitI'm a little concerned that it sounds like you may be doing short rows in a first projectThat's pretty ambitious if that is the caseGenerally a first project should be something flat and square/rectangular such as a wash cloth or scarf so you can focus on forming the stitches and stabilizing your gauge without being distracted by fiddly details.
Q: Several years ago, for a team building activity I made a twisted rope out of yarnEach person had a different piece of yarn and there was PVC piping that we used to twist and make the ropeThe point of the activity was that everyone worked together and that as individuals we can come together and make something strong like how the individual strings make a strong ropeI want to do this activity at a leadership retreat and am looking for instructions on how to do this.

Q: what did the navajo wear?
Originally, Navajo men wore breechcloths and the women wore skirts made of woven yucca fiberShirts were not necessary in Navajo culture, but both men and women wore deerskin ponchos or cloaks of rabbit fur in cool weather, and moccasins on their feetAfter sheep were introduced and Navajo women could weave larger woolen items, men began to wear poncho-style wool shirts, women began to wear wool dresses with shoulder straps, and heavy wool blankets began to replace fur cloaksIn the late 1800's and early 1900's, long velveteen shirts and blouses came into fashion and Mexican-style full cotton skirts became popular with Navajo womenThese styles are still popular todayHere is a site with sketches of 19th-century Apache and Navajo clothing styles, and some photos and links about Indian clothes in general The Navajos did not traditionally wear feather warbonnetsNavajo men usually wore cloth headbands tied around their foreheads insteadBoth men and women wore their hair gathered into a figure-eight shaped bun called a tsiyeel, though some Navajo men did begin cutting their hair to shoulder-length in the Pueblo style during the early 1900'sExcept for certain religious ceremonies, the Navajos didn't paint their faces or bodiesBut they are famous for their beautiful silver and turquoise ornaments, particularly concha belts (made of interconnected silver medallions), brooches, and jewelry Today, many Navajo people still have moccasins or a velveteen blouse, but they wear modern clothes like jeans instead of breechclothsand they only wear traditional regalia on special occasions like a wedding or a dance.

Q: when vinyl siding is put on a house, and a 3 foot overhang installed, should there be wood on top of itEvery 3rd vinyl overhang piece has holes in it to allow air to flow into the attic.but there is a solid piece of wood on top appearing to block the air flow.Is this how siding is supposed to be.should I remove the wood.should I drill holes through the woodI have made sure that there is no insulation blocking the holes (or resting on top of the solid piece of wood on top of the holes).Did the contractor do this incorrectly.how do I fix this situation. The ceiling of my house is 85 degrees when it gets hot.and I think it has to do with there not being enough airflow through the atticI have a whirly bird on top, so I know there is a place for it to escape.
