- Q: what are the different kinds of fiber?whats the difference between these different kinds?
- The glucometer getting inserted into you is called a CGM, or a continuous glucose monitorI don't have one, so I'm not sure how they insert it, but I'm fairly sure that it doesn't Hook in anywhereIt will rest just under your skinAgain, though, I don't have one, so I can't give you a definete answerThe meter will tell you how much sugar is in your bloodI can't rightly say how much insulin you will take after you eat because everyone is different and I mean EVERYONEI doubt you could find two people in America with the same exact insulin orders.
- Q: I'm looking to buy wooden knitting needles, I started out with metal (I've heard that's not the best to do but i did anyways)Is there any thing special i should look for or is there a brand that you prefer?
- usually HCl(hydrochloric acid) is used
- Q: This is actually a two part question.I have a walkup attic that will eventually be finished when I get the timeCurrently inside the attic there is insulation on the floor joists but nothing along the roof raftersEssentially it's a triangle with insulation only at the bottomAnyways the roof rafter measurement is a 2x6 spaced 16 on centerThe highest r value I can find that will fit is R19Now I know it should have a higher r value but that will not allow me to finish it offDo you think r 19 would be better than nothing or should I not even bother and save my moneyBlown in is currently not an option.Second question: I have ridge and soffit ventsI know I need to use baffles, however the salesman at Lowes told me I only need them at the top of the rafters where the vent is and just one on each side where the soffit is and not the entire length of insulationIs this true? The rafters are about 14 feet in length where the baffle measures at about 4 feet.
- Hello Fraz You already asked this question in different wording and I answered itI stress again: Do NOT fill the space between the roof rafters completely with insulationThere MUST be air flow between the roof boards and teh insulationIf there is no air flow, moisture will build up in the insualtion and cause the roof rafters to rot and also could cause moldBoth will end up costing more money than you would ever wish to spend and create a health and safety problem as wellMy answer: You MUST leave a space between the insulation and the roof fro cross ventilation Do NOT cover the ridge vent or completely fill in the space between the rafters There should be vents in the soffitThe air must be able to flow from the oiffit vents to the ridge vents This cross ventillation also helps to keep the roof a little cooler in the summer which will extend the life of your roofing material Without this space, the insulation will eventually become moist and loose its insulation value and will contribute to other problems such as wood rot and mold You can nail 1 X 2 strapping to the roof raftersNail flat against the roof rafters and tight to the roof boardsThis will give you a 1 1/2 inches space from the roof boards to the lower edger of the 1 X 2 strapping Place house wrap across the roof rafters by stapling it to the 1 X 2 strapping edgeThe house wrap can wrap around the roof rafters or you can cut it in strips so it fits between the roof raftersFill the remaining space with the proper size of insulationIf there is 3 1/2 inches from the edge of the 1 X 2 to the inside edge of the roof rfter, use insulation batts that are 3 1/2 inches; no thicker, no thinnerYou want the space fill completely without pushing the house wrap into the rir space.
- Q: I bought some cotton yarn recently, my first time working with anything other than medium-cheap acrylicI'm liking working with it, but I noticed the label says it is mercerizedWhat's that? Is it a good or bad thing? Or good for certain types of projects? I'm crocheting if that makes a differenceI'm starting a shawl, and the yarn is Omega Sinfonia.
- I think what you are talking about is fulled fabricProperly speaking, felting involves fibre only that is matted togetherThe wool (usually) is carded, and then laid out evenly a couple inches thick(You will want to use carded wool batts, or you can use roving.) Then soapy water is sprayed over it all, and it is rubbed togetherIt is the rubbing of the fibres against each other that causes them to matt together and never come apart againIt can be done dry, but takes much longerThe soapy water allows the fibres to be slippery and makes rubbing easierTo prevent the fibres from separating too much at first, usually we roll this whole sheet of wool between rolls of bubble wrap or bamboo blinds or anything that can keep it together but allow some pressure to be exerted on the fibresKeep rolling it back and forth, or pressing and rubbing through the bubble wrapIt will be slowly at first, but faster later, the wool will start matting together and forming a cloth, that won't come apartYou can stop whenever you have what you wantRinseLay flat and allow to dryIf you want to full your fabric, you knit (weave or crochet too) as normal and throw it into a washing machine (you can also do this by hand, but takes longer)You need to use an all natural animal fibre - synthetics just don't work - and you need to knit looselyThe piece will be much bigger than you want it to be; there is a lot of shrinkage when you full woolSoak your piece in hot water for a few minutes, then let it agitate for about 5 min, and check the progressIt will be slow at first, but once it starts, watch it carefullySTOP when it is almost right it will matt more as it driesYou can always do more later, but you cannot un-do fulling when it has gone too farRinseShape as desired, and allow to dryThat is it!!
- Q: We need to make room for a cousin thats moving inI really don't want to sleep in the living room theres this insulation stuff everywhere in the atticIts pink and stuffcould I remove all of those and put a bed there and sleep?
- It is safeThe insulation won't hurt youLeave it there because it helps keep the house warm in the winter and cool in the summerBest thing would be to cover the insulated walls with drywall or paneling.
- Q: i already have fiberglass insulation between the joists that doesn't come up to the top of the joistsi'm thinking of laying batts down on top of the joists, going the other waywill that gap be ok? any suggestions?
- I work for an Insulation company and the best way is to have loose fill fiberglass insulation blown over top of the old by a contractor ,That way it getis in all the cracks. Also todays code for insulation depending where you live is an R38 about 14 of toal insulation and should run you about 50-65 cents per square foot compared to buying rolls and doing it yourselfat about $1-$2 a square foot
- Q: okay, looking for a new horseThe one's i've picked out are all 15.1-15.3hh thoroughbred typesHe will be in daily work for at least an hour with shows at the weekend and Pony ClubHe will be out most of the time if not all with a run in shelter and a thick rugI was wondering how much hay and feed for him? I was thinking 4 sections of hay in the winter and then maybe 1 or 2 in the summer depending on the grassBut I'm stuck on feedAnd what sort of feed is good? I was thinking of adding chaff in the winterI'm one of those people who don't fuss over bringing him in in the rain and i'm not keen on supplementsI like Spillers and BaileysEasy food which can be fed on its own.Thanksp.sno horrid answers pleaseonly answer if you have a good worth while answer.
- I would season and sear in a deep skilletAfter it is brown on both sides I would add an inch or two of water in the bottom, as soon as the water starts to bubble a bit, cover with a tight lid and turn heat down to lowI would allow at leat an hour and a half if not two hoursA roast needs to be slow cooked to be tenderWater will cook down and if you want any veg don't add until the last 30 min of cooking.
- Q: These are the instructions that came with my new swimsuitIt got me to thinking that when I use a translator, I must sound horrible, lol.Use and maintenance1、into the water before swimming and bathing suit full wet pants2、Avoid wearing rough rock or ground with friction, to prevent the fibers take the yarn3、Wet swimming suits and can not be placed in a plastic bag by a long sea or pool water immersion, easy tocolor.4、Hand wash with water as soon as possible after swimming, do not use detergent and bleach5、Washed in ventilated place to dry, do not direct exposure to sunlight is.6、Stored for long periods, do not place the product in a concentrated taste of the cabinet mothSo, why can't they make a translator that actually works?
- online translators ? They beat nowhere on, that can I you on a little letter giveThey don't work well, because they just replace words with other wordsUsually one at a time, sometimes also entire groups of wordsBy and large, they cannot handle homonyms or proverbs and sayingsThey don't understand a thingIf they see the word calf, they don't know when it's a child of a cow or the back of your legAlso, they can't adapt to diferent wordorders in languagesFinally, sometimes a language DOESN'T HAVE THE WORDS with the same meaning as the words that are to be translated
