Q: we are planing to move out of the grid. we need to operate constantly 2 laptops online - does any one can tell us how much solar panels we shall need to make sure of that?
Are you going to have anything else on electric? Water heater, Stove, Refrigerator, Dishwasher, Washing machine, lights, fans, or a barn with lights and possible water heaters for winter? If so, you may need a lot more panels than that. We use 6.8 kW of panels in a place not known for sunny days, and do all right, but sometimes have to be careful if it is cloudy for many days in a row. You may be able to get by with about half of that if you live in a sunny, southern clime. Good luck - there are lots of non electric options for other (non-laptop) appliances, so you could cut back on other stuff as well.
Q: I need to find a way to clean solar panels that automated, at best;A way beside using a large 'squeegee'
Automating okorder /
Q: We want make solar panel for our home use. but we have no any right idea how we can make it. we want to make it with cheap prices.we also want to know the proper size of solar panel.where we can take help about making a solar panel
All you need to do is to learn how to build solar panel to produce your own electrical energy through solar panels. These solar panels take and keep the energy from the sun and turn it into usable electrical energy that we can use every day in our ordinary lives. Generally, the majority of people that knew about solar panels think that they won't benefit from its use because they just work in sunny areas. That isn’t the case. In fact, the new generation of solar panels can produce a lot of electrical energy even on rainy weathers. Learning how to build solar panel is very easy: first they need to be installed (most of the time, on the roof of homes) and then they take the energy from the rays of sunshine and convert it from solar energy to electrical energy. Solar panels must be kept from shading, as shaded cells draw energy for themselves from other cells. Things you need to know: . Solar panels using monocrystalline cells have high conversion efficiency, and take up less space, but lack shade protection. 2. Solar panels using polycrystalline cells have even higher conversion efficiency, take up even less space, but still lack shade protection. 3. Solar panels using amorphous silicon cells have lower conversion efficiency, and take up more space, but do have shade protection. This can be especially important on a sailboat. Once you have determined the size and number of solar panels needed, you will be better able to determine where they will be placed. The best places depend on the roof's length and size of the panels. Take your time and think it through. The simple answer to how to build solar panel is none other than the sun. Select locations that will get maximum sunlight without shaded spots. In placing solar panels, consider the use of extra bars/braces to secure the panels. You obviously want them to remain stable.
Q: Can solar panels be installed on a swimming pool?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a swimming pool. In fact, many pool owners choose to install solar panels to heat their pools and reduce energy costs. The panels absorb sunlight and convert it into energy to heat the water, extending the swimming season and making the pool more comfortable for users.
Q: I need a solar panel for my laptop as i am going camping in the desert, and i need my laptop. There are two choices of solar panels, One is 0 watts and 2 V and maximum power current 0.56 amps. The other one is 2 watts, 2 V and no mention of current. My laptop plug says input 00-240V and .5A and then output 5V-5A. Which one should i get for my laptop. If there are other choices please tell me ill look them up on OKorder. Thanks
I'm afraid neither of these panels will do much for charging or running your laptop. If the power brick is supposed to emit 5 volts at 5 amps, that's 75 watts. Neither of those panels provides enough voltage and the power output is obviously far too small. The capabilities of solar power are vastly overestimated for small panels. Sunlight is limited to about kilowatt per square meter under ideal conditions (summer time, clear blue sky, for a few hours around noon in the US southwest). But consumer panels top out at about 5% efficiency, so your limit is 50 watts per square meter - in other words you would need about half a square meter, or about six square feet, of panel to provide 75 watts. And even under ideal conditions you will only get that much for a few hours each day. Also, the panel's voltage output is not regulated, so even if you find a panel that emits 5 volts (this would actually have to be made up of groups of 30 cells in series, as they emit half a volt each at most) you can't just connect the panel output into your laptop's DC in. You'd need a regulated DC-to-DC supply, and since that is not 00% efficient it will cost a bit of the power... now you need even more panel area. All in all, not really a practical thing to carry along on a camping trip.
Q: If a solar panel is a .5kW system, what length of time is it putting out that much power? Every hour?
Solar panels are rated under standard test conditions (STC), a certain amount of light at a certain distance, at a certain temperature, etc. A kW, or kilo watt, is 000 watts. So for the amount of time that the sun meets those conditions, the rate of output is 500 watts. An average location has an average of 5 sun hours a day, the total time that you produce the rated output. Watts is a rate, like miles per hour (mph), how fast it is going. Watt hours, or kilo watt hours (kwh) is a quantity, like miles. So if you drive 50 mph for 5 hours, you went 250 miles (50 mph x 5 hours). If you produce .5kw for 5 hours, you have the potential to produce 7.5kwh a day. Multiply that by 30 days in a month, you get 225kwh a month. In reality you will lose about 30% of the rated power from less than ideal weather, system losses, etc., so it's more like 50kwh a month. You can look at your electric bill to see how many kwh you use a month, maybe around 000kwh, and see what percentage of your usage a system like that can power.
Q: If I wanted to put some solar panels on my roof, how many would i need and how many watts would they have to be to be able to power my whole house?
Well, the best way to buy solar panels is to shop by watts. Solar panels come in a wide variety of watts, from to over 200. However, the more watts a panel has, the more it costs. I would suggest getting small things first, and gradually converting to solar power so as to help the environment and save money. If you have an outdoor pool, buy a solar collector to heat it. It will extend your swimming season and once you hook it up, you won't have to worry about it. (My cousins have this on their pool.) Also, there are solar cell phone chargers available for purchase, you could get one of those. As for your house, you would need several solar panels and a converter to be able to power your whole house on solar energy.
Q: By best I mean safest places. If I were to install them on my roof am I risking due to damage from weathering? Such as rain or snow. I don't get very high winds around here, nor any natural disasters such as hurricanes or tornadoes. Does anyone have solar panels that have been durable for a long time? Is it worth the investment?
The best place is where they get the most sunshine. Naturally they will be exposed to rain and snow.
Q: How do solar panels affect the insurance premiums of a home?
Solar panels can potentially have a positive impact on home insurance premiums. While the initial installation cost of solar panels may increase the value of a home, they can also lower the risk of fire damage and reduce reliance on the grid. As a result, some insurance companies offer discounts or special policies for homes with solar panels, which may lead to lower insurance premiums in the long run. However, it is important to consult with individual insurance providers as policies can vary.
Q: Interested to know if it is possible to install Solar Panels to run my Jacuzzi?Don't want to do the whole house just the jacuzzi anybody have any ideas Thanks
You can do this by isolating the jacuzzi, you will need a solar array adequate for the power draw of the jacuzzi, a charge controller, battery bank, off-grid inverter and switch gear. This is the expensive way to go--especially if you are planning to heat the water with the solar. A better option would be to heat the jacuzzi with solar thermal panels. It is plumbing instead of electrical, but the cost would be much less. If you still want to do PV (electric) solar, think about putting a non-isolated grid-tie solar array on your home. They are much cheaper, and if you think about it, it really does not matter if you use the solar electricity to run a light, a fridge, a TV, or a Jacuzzi, that amount of power is subtracted from your overall house power bill. Just size the array for the power output of the jacuzzi, and let the power meter do the rest. Your overall result will be the same and the system will be half the price, or less.
