- Wear a helmet, you need it for safety anyways. Wear a medical mask (like the one they use in hospitals). It will protect insects from getting in your nose and mouth as well as protect you from smog if you are riding on the street. I am not sure what you can do about the ears but hopefully the helmet will help a little. I wear glasses so I would recommend sports glasses if possible.

- The hydrant or meter is on there property. Or they have a easement to have it there. If not you can cut the pipe. Best to quietly remove 2 inch's of rock. And replace with good top soil. And let the grass grow. It is becoming common for them to fill with sand or gravel. Check the property line and easements on it. Go from there. - They make conversion pieces. You just solder a threaded female or male end and then use the opposite threaded piece for the pvc end and just wrap teflon on whichever side the male threads are on. why do you need to convert to pvc? Repairing copper is not hard. Just takes a bit of practice soldering. Need a good cleaning brush, a flux application brush, some solder and a good torch that gets pretty hot (like mapp). Its all about NOT touching the part you wish to solder with any part of your body after cleaning it as acids that humans produce actually are corrosive to it and may leak in time. You only need a ring inside of the joint with solder, not a big glob outside. If you are converting though.a threaded male to female works or threaded female to male works too. You are basically taking straight pipe and adding a threaded fitting, using teflon and then threading the pvc end into it.

- The cheapest and easiest way to repair a leak in a copper pipe. If you do not have the tools and experience, is to 1.)determine the size of the pipe, 2.) if it is a elbow, straight piece aka coupling etc. Then go to Home Depot and ask for Shark-Bite- Fittings needed to complete repair. You then follow instructions and assemble. No need to use fire/ torch, and wait for house to drain etc. As long as you follow instructions, the repair will be easy and will not come apart. This is a much safer way to make a repair in copper pipe. If it is a tight repair and/or a section of pipe must be replaced, you can use cpvc (yellow looking pvc pipe), copper tubing. I have used Shark-Bite Fittings, ***Very Important***, is to follow instructions

- There is a possibility of a piece of torn paper blocking the feeder. With the HP, the tray lift spring sometimes also goes bad and easily gets jammed down with the paper that is loaded. Also, if it is a high use machine, the rollers will actually get polished from the paper dust as the sheets feed. The rollers can be rejuvinated with cleaner made for rubber rollers and actually soften them for better operation.. Do not use alcohol as this will dry out the rubber.

- Properly clean with the plumbers abrasive paper. Also clean inside the joints. Use flux. Heat to temp and apply the solder from the opposite side that you are heating and let the heat from the joint pull the solder into the gaps. Should work. If it doesn't they do make PVC adapters that will fit copper. There sold in the hardware store.
