Q: Hi,I can't find a decent, easy-to-read (and understand) website which will thoroughly explain most of the advantages and disadvantages of mobile phone masts. So I decided that maybe some of you clever people could help me! You can either:a) Give me a good link to a page about the advantages and dasadvantages of mobile phone masts;OR:-b) You could type them in your answer to me if you know a few good ones already. Thanks v. v. v. much in advance! :D
Hi, Mobile phone masts are really antennas for base-stations. In communications the cell phone talks to the base station, and vice versa. I am guessing you are asking for disadvantages from a non technical communications standpoint, like: what would happen if we didn't have them? If not, let me know, I'll give you a technical answer. We wouldn't be able to use cell phones if we didn't have towers. Cell phones use the base stations to connect to the public grid, and the public communication grid is all cables and wires. Since you need a way to get from wireless to wire you have masts.
Q: Hey guys, so I am getting a new phone and have no idea what to get. I had verizon, but after the two year contract, I got to overwhelmed with the price. I usually don't call that much, but I send a very large amount of texts. I want something that is very durable because I do tend to drop all my phones. I was considering the Samsung Intercept, the Blackberry Curve, and the LG Rumor touch.IF you could help me decide if Virgin mobile is worth the money and if the phones are good thatd be great. Also, which one of the phones you like the best.XOX,CALIlt;3
This one is easy. Intercept! It's the most expensive of the three, but it is the only Android phone. The Rumor is crap, and the Curve, in my opinion, sucks compared to an Android phone. If you want a cheaper contract service, go with Sprint (who owns Virgin's towers). You'll pay about the same as going with Virgin (70/mth with 450 minutes, Unlimited Txt, Unlimited Web, Unlimited Sprint TV) and you'll not have to worry if you forget to put money on your phone.because if you forget with Virgin, your phone will cut off. Also, phone wise, the Intercept will run you as low as 20.00 while with Virgin, it'll be more like 250.
Q: how can i call from PC to Landline/Mobile phone.free.
Hello, I just did this recently. First, once you sign on to Yahoo Messenger, down about 3/4 of the way down, below your friends or family list of names online, you will see Phone Out and a Phone In. You will need to click on the Phone Out and follow the instructions for calling, including entering your credit card number. Then, to begin making calls, you will have to follow the instructions that are sent to you from Yahoo in an email they will send to the email address you provided to them. This will take a few days to get done, so, you may not be able to make calls this way til after Christmas. Sorry
Q: i want a virgin mobile phone, does the activation automaically give me minutes to talk, because my friend told me that when i buy a virgin mobile phone, it doesn't come with minutes, does activation mean that it gives me minutes?
Some of the Virgin Mobile phones do come with minutes, but they'll clearly state it (such as currently occurs with the Aloha or Red Cyclops). If you activate a phone being passed on from someone else they give you (and the other person) minutes. There are times over the years they've also had coupons during activation to give you minutes, and you can find kickback codes out there now to give you minutes. If you use their Sugar Mama service (where you click through ads) you can get 5 free minutes per day. Anyway, you *can* get minutes via methods such as the above, but you'd otherwise need to add funds to your account to get them. Activation won't give you minutes no matter what.
Q: I have had t-mobile phones for a while, and they kinda suck, but my blackberry pearl just broke, and before that my razor broke, so I'm looking for a new phone. They're so expensive, but I want one that won't break. I'm thinking a google phone, sidekick, or a behold. Does anyone have a suggestion? Thanks :)
If okorder
Q: I am looking to get a new mobile phone. What phone do you own? And what do you think is the best contract phone out there?
Well okorder
Q: I'm a T-Mobile customer. Is it possible to unlock a new phone that I don't want to EVER use on my T-Mobile account fr free?Basically I bought a new phone without a contract and want to unlock it to give to a friend.
yes, okorder
Q: I have a SG2 , if I go to maps it will tell me where I am .can other people see this if they want ? is there an app for tracking Mobile phones ? and if so how can I prevent this ?
The phone uses wifi/cell phone tower locations when the GPS is off. Nobody else can see where it is unless you make a posting map for where you were when you made the post. It does not track every step you make. If you have ATT Family map or something like it then who ever is in charge of paying your bill can see where the phone is. ~good luck
Q: Any other mobile phone suggestions
I have the phone. The touchscreen is very responsive and easy to use, and everything on the phone like messaging and calling is good. The 3.2 megapixel camera is also pretty good too! It has quite a few little extras that are quite nice like the basic calculator as well as a converter which is useful. The only thing i find really frustrating about the phone is that it doesnt allow you to put any content on it such as new games and applications unless they are paid for! It doesnt have a stylus as it is sometimes advertised. The other thing is it can be difficult to connect it to a pc because my laptop with vista can never locate the driver. The last complaint i have is the headphones. They're rubbish. but other then that the phone works well and is very stylish if you only want it for the basic calling, texting etc. hope this helps.
Q: i need a write-up on the positive points of mobile phones. a genuine answer gets free 10 points! there are many uses. so list 'em all! i'll really appreciate your help
For emergencies For senior citizens or handicapped people to keep in touch To get directions if you are lost To talk to someone while walking to your car late at night if you are alone In case you run out of gas at night or need help
