- There is no trauma. You are not beating up your child n locking them up. Simply talk to your child n explain that she is a big girl now n she can have her own room. Make her room appealing to her. Then every night wind down, put her in her own bed, read a story n kiss her good night. She will most definately fuss, but keep putting her back in. Minimise conversation when she gets out of her bed. In a week she'll be used to it.

- Well, if you're just worried about her rolling while sleeping - skip the bed rail - that's more of a danger than a safety measure. Get 2 king pillows to keep next to the bed, when she's sleeping and you wake up to do some morning routines - put two pillows about 6-12 inches away from each side , then one above her head, one below her feet. If you have a bed rail up and she rolls, it's too risky for her to get caught between the rail and the bed - scary... Once she's crawling around on her own and you're trying to keep her contained your only safe option really is going to be the crib .. Good luck
