- Q:I have a 16 x32 Inground pool with steel walls and vermiculite bottom. I am getting a new liner installed tomorrow and the pool guy drained the pool yesterday. We are getting a lot of rain today and Im worried about the ground water affecting the bottom, like it is going to push out the vermiculite bottom. Is this something to be worried about? Also the pool guy says he is going to have the old liner ripped out and the new one ready for water in 1 ? hours. Is this possible? He thinks I have water leaking into the bottom underneath the liner already. Is that a big deal? Another thing he said was that he was going to cut in the main drain in the center of the deep end before they start to add water. I thought you had to put about 12” of water in before you cut the main drain in to insure that it is seated properly and the liner stretches correctly. Anyone who could ease my mind on some of these questions, your knowledge would be appreciated.
- vermiculite
- Q:I have a weeping fig plant and I would like to take cuttings to start new plants. Can it be done? If so where should I cut? How do I root a cutting? Can it be rooted in a cup of water? Any info would be appreciated!
- cuttings best taken in summer air layer any season
- Q:Perlite or vermiculite? Or is there something else to use?
- Add vermiculite to the top of the pots. It is normal for the pots to slowly degrade so mould is to be expected. The vermiculite will prevent the stems of the lettuce damping off as it absorbs excess water.
- Q:What does vermiculite look like?
- Used in nutrient soil, it is easy to break down and become dense, which makes ventilation and drainage worse. Finally, it does not need to be used as a long-term potted plant. As the large matrix slotting machine cutting, should use particles, not more than 1 years.
- Q:Can I germinate apple seeds in vermiculite?
- I don't think vermiculite would be a good substrate for several reasons. I usually buy organic peat moss.
- Q:I've been looking online and I all the supplies I'd need to get seem awfully expensive. I need a small breeding rack (should I make or buy), vermiculite (where to buy from), and an Incubator (make or buy). I'm looking for the cheapest solution, making things aren't a problem.
- The white stuff is vermiculite; it is one of the components of the potting soil. It separates the soil particles and allows air and water to penetrate more easily. Good luck and enjoy!
- Q:Any easy ways or idea‘s how to make an home made Incubation for my leopard gecko‘s egg?? She hasn‘t had them yet but she is showing signs of pregnancie. Any one help me out???Thanks alot, Linden
- here's what you do. You buy some flex watt and you also buy a cheap theromstat from a pet store and hook the flex watt to the thermostat. You connect the flex watt to a plastic container. Since the thermostat will probably be cheap, you will have to have a digital thermometer to calibrate the thermostat. and there, you have a cheap incubator
- Q:I need vermiculite for my incubator for my leopard geckos eggs. Where can I buy some? Also, is there any substitute? Like anything I can use other than vermiculite? Thanks!!
- Sure. I would.
- Q:Okay, so I have injected mushroom spores in vermiculite brown rice flower, and a bit of perlite and there in my closet is there anything I should do besides leav them there?
- If you want a specific answer, you need to ask specific questions... How much does something extremely light weigh? What are the dimensions of a small scale application? How much is the smallest space possible? If you can't afford aerogels, how much can you afford? How much heat are you worried about? What is the highest temperature the insulation will see?
- Q:is there other substrait i can use for my leopard gecko to lay her eggs in?
