Specifications of Artistic Glass Block-05:
The most common shape of glass tile is square,and the most common length, width and thickness of glass tile are 190mm, 190mm and 80mm or 95mm respectively, and glass tiles with the length, width and thickness of 145mm, 145mm and 80mm or 95mm respectively also sell well. Performance of Artistic Glass Block-05:
Belonging to sodalime silicate glass system, glass tile, a transparent material, is made by melting silicate inorganic mineral substance materials such as quartz sand, soda ash (Na2CO3) and limestone at high temperature, being a veritable eco-friendly product.
2. Heat-shielding Performance
Due to the diffuse scattering of hollow glass tile and internal negative pressure cavity, a room can get enough light rays and the interior temperature does not rise under strong solar radiation in summer. In winter, the difference between indoor temperature and outdoor temperature can reach 40 DEG C and the air humidity is not influenced because of low thermal coefficient and great loss of blocked heat in the negative pressure cavity. If the glass tile is applied to a building, the room gets cool in summer and is away from torridness, and warms the room, does not cause dryness and saves energy in winter.
3. Sound Insulation Performance
Thanks to sealing negative gas in the hollow glass tile, the tile has high sound insulation property.
4. Light-transmitting and Non-perspective Performance
The light-transmission coefficient of white hollow glass tile is 75%-85%, which is similar to that of the general double-layered hollow glass. There are various decorative patterns on the surface of the glass tile, so the tile is non-perspective, indoor imperceptibility is realized, light rays are scattered around the room, discomfort caused by direct solar radiation is solved and the indoor luminous environment is improved.
5. Fireproof Performance
The fireproof level of hollow glass tile is GB class A. According to Japanese law, it is recognized that single-layer wall has the same performance as the second kind fire door and double-layer wall has one-hour fireproof performance.
6. High Compression Resistance and Shock Resistance
The hollow glass tile has high compression resistance and shock resistance, so that the dead weight of the hollow glass tile can be ignored even in design and construction of very high glass tile wall.
7. Atomization Resistance
The hollow glass tile has outstanding performance in resisting pulverization. For example, the surface of the glass tile does not atomize or form dew when the indoor temperature is 20°C, the humidity is 60% and the outdoor temperature is 2°C below zero, so that the erosion of atomized vapor to the frame is prevented.

- i am guessing that you mean ceramic tile first i would recommed using a sealer on it, after you seal it all you need to do is damp mop it. check manufactures instructions on application

- Often Home-Depot ,Lowe's and others have a training season for doing tile , sheetrock , painting ... just check with your local store to see if they have these and when. I have gone to some and they are informative Yes, ceramic tile does go on cement very well

- the okorder , or diynetwork online and type in ceramic tile, and you'll get dozens of hints/ tips and tricks that will show you what you need to know. i'm not taking anything away from the other answer, he's completely right, just a little vague maybe. do some research, and this is something you can do. just know what you're doing first. tile is expensive.

- If its the honey or green onyx in the lower pictures, to answer your question, it is for wall application only, not durable enough for flooring. - Q: Hello. The office we work in has what we believe to be vinyl tiles, 12x12, with a white powdery substance that is always on the floor. It looks as though the tile has never been sealed before so I‘m not sure if this is the cause. I have read online about efflorescence. Could this be that? I‘m really nervous because I don‘t know if it is asbestos. There are a few people in this area, and our chairs are constantly rolling around on the floor. I would say that the floor is just worn down because of the high traffic but I just wanted opinions on what it could be. This powder gets on the bottom of our chairs and our shoes. Any help is appreciated!
- Mpffff... 12 x 12 tiles are extremely unlikely to be asbestos-based. Efflorescence happens only with concrete/mortar-based materials. However, if the tiles are loosely laid (still solid, but with gaps or areas of poor adhesion) over concrete with moisture underneath, you could be getting efflorescence penetrating the tile - and if this is a slab-on-grade, that is even likely. If it is laid over anything but concrete that is not the issue. Older VCT (vinyl composition tile) will deteriorate with age and the surface will powder and crumble. But by this point, the stuff should be coming right off the floor.
- Q: The tile grout on my bathroom floor is white in some parts, but dark where husband stands next to the sink/toilet... How can I clean it without having to re-grout it? Can I just spray bleach on or will that ruin the tile?
- I have tile in my bathroom also and have had the same problem. I will tell you the best way that is easier on your tile and grout. Do not use bleach it wil break the grout and tile down. Go out to Target and buy the Method brand tub and tile cleaner, also buy a Method mop with Method all purpose floor cleaner, and buy a plastic brush that looks like a tooth brush but it bigger in the cleaning isle. Next get some rugs for the toilet and for infront of the sink. Also go to Lowes and buy some sealer. Now your ready to start. Start buy mopping the intire floor with your mop and all purposed floor cleaner(just have a light spray of cleaner on floor never soak it). Then take you Method tub and tile and spray it on your grout and go to work brushing it and spraying it until it comes white. After it is white and dry read the directions on the sealer bottle and seal the grout. Make the sealer puddle just a little over the grout. Wait till it is dry and from then on you won't have problems with dirt collecting on you grout. If you do, then its time to reseal it again and complete the steps above.
- Q: I‘m thinking about having a bathroom tiled. The bathroom is about 6 by 8 and right now the walls have a horrible pink and black alternating ceramic tile that goes up about 4 feet on the wall all the way around. All I want to do is replace this tile with a glass tile. I have no idea what the cost would be for materials and labor so any estimates would be appreciated. This is the only work I need done.
- One way to lower your costs would be to do the tile demolition yourself and then buy a less expensive field tile for most of the walls and add in the higher priced glass tiles in random places or to form a pattern in a special place-- say above the sink or around the shower head area, etc. Do you really want that much glass tile?

- Ceramic tile will chip easily when a direct hit is administered. Most flooring now a days is gonna be Porcelain. Porcelain is gonna be the best choice for flooring.
- Q: Meaning, I was just wondering if you can lay a thin set of mortar then place vinyl tiles on it, and then grout it? This mabye a stupid question and most people would say why not just use real tile if your going to go through all that trouble, but just wondering?.Thanks
- Vinyl tiles are really thin. I doubt there would be enough thickness to get a good bite into the mortar or grout. There is also glue on the back of the tile, I can't imagine that would work out very well with the mortar. No, this just won't for a whole host of reasons. Take a class on how to lay tiles at Home Depot or Loews. Once you get educated, you'll understand this kind of project much better. The two most useful tools are a telephone and a charge card. Joe
