Q: Explain the differences between aluminum and tin in terms of their use in food storage.

Aluminum and tin are both metals used in food storage, but they have distinct properties. Aluminum is lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and non-toxic, making it a popular choice for food containers and foils. It's also a good conductor of heat, which can be beneficial for cooking. However, it's not suitable for acidic foods as it can react with them. On the other hand, tin is a stable metal that doesn't react with food, making it safe for long-term storage. Tin-lined steel cans are common for preserving food because of their durability and the protective barrier tin provides against corrosion and contamination. While both metals have their uses, tin is generally considered safer for food storage due to its inert nature.

Q: Explain thouralghy!!
I am not sure, but I think the chemical you are talking about is a very corrosive base, sodium hydroxide, NaOH, which would react with aluminum to form Al(OH)3 and sodium metalSodium metal is very unstable.
Q: Both of us work full time and I'm running out of ideaswhat do you like to make for dinner after a long days work?
Gatti-Town? We have one in KY that has a Carousel in the center and bumper cars
Q: I will be using some silver leaf to cover a small statue soon and want to tarnish/age parts of it to make the undercuts and detail darkerI think I can use an acid of some sort, but do not fancy using acid! I do not want to use paint or boot polish as I just want the silver leaf layer - any ideas what to use that is readily obtainable in England?ThanksKD
if you use true silver leaf, light will tarnish it, so photo emulsions ought to work nicelyif you use aluminum alloy leaf, it doesn't tarnish and i haven't found anything that will darken it except oil paint.you could apply them thinned some as a wash, and that way you can add if it is still too light.
Q: I want to check my homework, so I'll give my question and tell you my answerYou will have to show your work to if my answer is wrong, so I know what I did wrong.1.218 X 10^38 1.218 multiplied to 10 to the power of 38How much would 3.45 X 10^22 atoms of Li weigh? I converted atoms to moles and moles to grams and got my answer [1.436787 X 10^47 grams]2) How many atoms of lithium is 1.00g of Li?I converted atoms to grams to moles and moles to atoms and got my answer [ 8.673101859 X 10^22 atoms]3) What is the mass of 9.45 mole of aluminum oxide?I found Valance electrons for both and switch way which got me Al2O3 and with a molar mass of 101.961 in totalI multiplied 9.45 by the molar mass and my answer was [963.53145 grams]
How much would 3.45 X 10^22 atoms of Li weigh? I converted atoms to moles and moles to grams and got my answer [1.436787 X 10^47 grams] Answer: I always advise my students to think about their answer and to try and conclude if the result is feasibleHave you any idea what you answer with 10^47g represents - The mass of the whole earth is 5.9742 × 10^24 grams - so your answer cannot be correct: You know that 1 mol of Li atoms has mass of 6.94g 6.02210^24 Li atoms has mass of 6.94g 3.4510^22 atoms must have mass: (3.4510^22)/(6.02210^23)6.94 0.398 g of Li 2) How many atoms of lithium is 1.00g of Li? I converted atoms to grams to moles and moles to atoms and got my answer [ 8.673101859 X 10^22 atoms] Answer: 6.94g Li has 6.02210^23 atoms Li 1 g Li has (6.02210^23)/6.94 8.6810^22 atoms In connection with the above two questions: have you heard of Avavgadro's number - 6.02210^23You seem to be doing a lot of converting to mols to grams toetc which is not necessary 3) What is the mass of 9.45 mole of aluminum oxide? I found Valance electrons for both and switch way which got me Al2O3 and with a molar mass of 101.961 in totalI multiplied 9.45 by the molar mass and my answer was [963.53145 gram Molar mass Al2O3 101.96 g/mol 9.45 mol 9.45101.96 963.5g You did this perfectly.
Q: I have a 220 outlet that powers my electric rangeHow can I convert that 220 big round outlet to a normal 110?
This Sour Cream Blueberry bread is so YUMMY! It is great as dessert with jam, or in the morning for breakfastAnd it looks really pretty too.
Q: im curious about removing a engine/ jacking a engine up by the oil panFirst thing is can you theortically with a high jack, jack the whole front end up of the car, remove the valve cover maybe the cylinder head, and remove the engine from the bottom? just place it down on a dolly and wheel it away then install a new piston head, and of course remove the two motor mounts and transmission mount holding the whole thing inI believe my transmission just floats with a mount no cross members stop it from just dropping if the mounts weren't there and if it wasn't connected to the engineAlso I see videos of people jacking the oil pan up on the engine to remove motor mounts for much need space on these small engine bays, is that safe? Maybe put a block of wood under the pan and just jacking it up can it damage the pan if its a aluminum? say a 2.4L 4 cylinder pan.
You didn't bother to identify your car, but from the small engine I assume it's a front wheel drive carMostly, those engines drop out the bottom on the engine subframeRear wheel drive engines generally are lifted outUse wood under the oil pan if its a steel panSome cars have aluminum pans or maybe plasticDon't jack on them! If you're removing a front wheel drive engine only, leaving the trans in the car, I would pull that engine out the top with a hoist (cherry picker) and leave the subframe in place so the trans can sit on itThat way you can leave your half shafts in and front drive and steering assembled.

Q: Planning on buying a new computer and can't decide whether a new aluminum Imac or the old white ImacI am leaning towards the new aluminum ImacAny suggestions of which 20quot; display too buyAny cool applications to buy or have pre-installedGoing to use the comp as a regular desktop comp, internet, Itunes, documents, powerpointsShould I buy the Microsoft Office package or are there alternatives that are cheaper, or even FREEAny other suggestions for someone buying their first MAC computer.
Hey welcome to Mac OS XIf you can hold off for another month, because Macworld (Apples big show)is coming up in mid January and Intel's new processors come out the week before at CES so the imac should see a speed updateI would go with the latest technology and get the most that you can afford, more ram the better, but don't buy ram from Apple unless you really want to pay a premium, get it from another vendor like crucialIt's very easy to install ram in the new aluminum imacsAs for apps don't even mess with Office because Apple has an optional package of their own called iwork for $79It has Keynote which absolutely blows the doors off of Powerpoint (Steve Jobs uses Keynote during his Macworld Presentation) along with Pages (Word) and Numbers (Excel)Have fun with your new macOnce you go mac, you'll never go backI put up with Windows ME for 4 years and it crashed 2-3 times a daySince moving to the mac in the 2 years and 3 months that I've had it it has crashed once and that was because of some goofy video siteMacs just work.
