- Q: i have a corolla,the front tires are making screeching noises lately. is is it neccessary to do all wheel align. or just front wheel align .wud do?I dont know when you do all wheel alignment,or on what kinda vehical?
- screeching noise isn't going to be from alignment that most likely is from your brakes and you want to have them checked out because it will just cost you more money the longer you wait. As for alignments go you always want to have a four wheel alignment done if it is a front wheel drive car, the back end of the car has to track evenly with the front end or the car will dog leg down the road and that is unsafe specially when cornering and braking.
- Q: I hit a curb last night and I‘m pretty sure I damaged the steel wheel itself on my car (aka it‘s beyond normal flat tire repair). The wheel is OEM (has a wheel cover). If I have to replace the entire wheel, is it likely that the shop will have a replacement? I‘ve always thought that when you changed tires they just replaced the rubber portion of the wheel, not the whole thing. Let me know if I need to add any additional info. Thanks!

- The first two guys said it. I will add, however, another way to look at this. When you look at the wheels of a 1920s automobile, they have spoked wheels too. A Model T Ford slides into a curb and the spokes fail and the rim separates from the hub. - front wheel drive is better in the snow. Generally will have more weight over the tires with the motor. Generally with rear wheel drive cars pushing the car the rear end will just slide out right or left before it will go straight. Front drive cars will not do that no where near as bad. Plus you have control over the driving wheels a lot of times when you lose traction you can just rock the steering wheel back and forth to regain traction. you can get a understeer effect when turning in snow with a front wheel drive car means you turn the wheel the car goes straight. it's easy to get a feel for that and it's something that's easily controlled.

Smaller wheels will be able to fit on more boards without getting wheelbite though.
