Q: I work in downtown Atlanta, and they are doing some kind of work on top of one of the high rise buildings downtown with a big crane. I was wondering how they got that heavy of a crane there to begin with? Thanks ahead of time!

Q: In Scottsdale AZ I have never noticed them before this year. They are on the walls all around our doors.
Crane FLIES not cranes. The winter crane fly has an abundant hatch--well, during early spring or late winter. In this they are just everywhere--this species just does this sort of thing. Typically crane flies are a rather rare sight, such as during the summer months, usually of an entirely different species. There's really not much to explain their abundance.
Q: Well I folded 100 or so cranes from cheap origami paper (red, yellow, green and blue) before I decided that I could fold 1000 cranes a reality. My dilemma is, do I keep the 100 cranes I did and fold 900 of them to fulfill my wish? Or if I discard the 100 cranes and fold 1000, will my wish be granted on the 900th crane? The reason I want to discard the 100 cranes is because it's for my wedding and the color placement of the old cranes isn't fitting at all.Yes I'm aware it's not scientific or realistic, but it's more of faith, I'm not dumb.
Consider what you would like your 100 cranes to mean. Attach strings to your 100 cranes and then hang them in a tree etc so that the wind may carry your prayers where they need to go. Then start again to create the 1000 paper cranes you want for your wedding. PS: The making of the paper cranes involves an act of faith, not the right colour to match your wedding plans. In Japan, the crane represents peace and healing. When we consider the famous Japanese art-form of paper folding (origami) the crane comes to mind before all else. Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes (1977), a non-fiction children’s book written by American author Eleanor Coerr, tells the story of young Sadako Sasaki who lived in Hiroshima at the time of the atomic bombing. Sadako developed leukaemia as a consequence, and lived out the remainder of her short life in a nursing home desperately trying to create one thousand paper cranes. Supposedly, if someone could make a thousand paper cranes his/her wish would come true. Sadako wanted to live. Sadly, she only managed to fold 644 cranes. After her death, friends and family folded the remainder, and buried her with the one thousand paper birds. Today, a statue of Sadako holding an enormous golden origami crane stands in the Hiroshima Peace Park. People regularly leave paper cranes. The plaque on the statue reads “This is our cry. This is our prayer. Peace on Earth.”
Q: I was just wondering this since I come from Northern Ireland and in Belfast I think they're probably the most prominent landmark but are they actually famous and if you saw them would you know where they were?
Look them up on youtube you will see one crashing into another crane and knocking it over.
Q: I'm thinking of making a senbazuru for by boyfriend as our first anniversary gift but I'm not sure if it's appropriate. I know its usually given to couples as a marriage gift, but yeah...does it seem too much?Btw a senbazuru is 1000 paper Cranes strung together. Thanks for the help!
It does seem like too much because it's a big time consumer to make it--takes hours upon hours upon hours. An average of 1 crane made every 5 minutes would result in 83.3 hours nonstop of crane making. That's off-putting. Alternatively it would be like him giving you a $600+ ring because he worked 83.3 hours at his $8/hr job. It's just weird to put in that much time for a 1st year anniversary.
Q: my overhead crane refuse to work transvesely
Limit switch replacement requires adjustment of the cranes travel limits. The limits are imposed by the manufacturer for the application. This service is normally factory authorized only.
Q: It affects my day to day life, especially in the summer, having to cope with crane flies, wasps and moths getting into my house, so I usually just pretty much keep myself in my room, door closed, windows closed to prevent any from getting into my room. If I happen to be near any of these insects I tend to have a panic attack and can't handle it. I have no reason for my fear, I am just afraid of them for no reason. If my room is too hot, I'll just sit in the dark with the window slightly open, in fear of them coming into my room. It's getting silly now and a lot of my friends will tease me about it. Really it's weird, I'm afraid of these insects, however I don't mind spiders (though I will not touch them), or any other insects for that matter. Can anyone help me to overcome my fears?
There is a reason you fear these, you allow it. Moths and crane flies are totally harmlees, and really nothing more than a nuisance. Over time you develop a fear of them touching you, and eventually even being near them. Because you dwell on this instead of completely ignoring them, you literally brainwash yourself into fearing them. You need to change the way you think about these critters, preferably, not thinking about them at all. At times when they are a nuisance, just deal with them. I had a moth last night fluttering around my lamp, and it finally landed on the curtain. I grabbed it and tossed it out the door. no more moth. I like to sit on my porch at sunset, sometimes I'll watch a little barn spider come out from behind the lamp and spin her web. Often a pesty crane fly will want to buzz in my face, and I just shoo it away. If it gets persistent, I grab them and toss them into the spider web.No more crane fly. (I get those pretty little green lacewing flies too) It is really a matter of learning how to just ignore them, and deal with them when they are a pest. Sounds like you pretty much ignore spiders, try the same with the moths and crane flies.
Q: I have to answer some questions about an except from Where I Lived, and What I Lived For by Henry Thoreau. I don't need an explanation for all the metaphors he uses and what they mean, but what is he talking about with the Pygmy thing? Do the pygmies battle the cranes because... they want to eat them? Are cranes just d!cks? Is a crane some type of weapon?
