Q: How is light created?
How Does Lighting Occur
Q: lights on,what about you
Light is a essential requirement to see everything so on until go to bed.
Q: how do prisms bend light? specifically how do thick prisms bend light compared to thin prisms.
Hey Marie.....light travels in wavelegnths much like the waves of an ocean travelling to the shore. When something interrupts or alters the course of these wavelegnths (such as light travelling through a prism) then these wavelengths (ripples) must do a detour and this is called refraction (not to be confused with reflection). It is the same reason that we sometimes see a rainbow in different mediums. Each waverlegnth of light actually has a corresponding color to it.....hence the rainbow. A Frenchman named Fresnel figured out some fancy mathematical equations to explain all of this and when you see an old lighthouse up close you will see the fresnel lens that it supports. It uses this theory so as to take a small light source indide if it (such as an old whale oil lamp) and then magnify and refract the light into a seemingly brighter appearance. Light can bend (refract) and when it does this then corresponding colors appear due to a change in wavelegnth (it makes a detour) and the intensity of the light may appear greater or smaller.
Q: What makes light so fast ,and can nothing attain this speed except light itself?
Dark is faster. It has to be faster to get out of light's way so quickly.
Q: I know it sounds odd but if a car at night with it's lights on is passing me by @ 25 mph isn't the light from the headlights traveling @ light-speed plus 25 mph?
That's a great question. it's those types of questions which lead Einstein to realize the general theory of relativity. You see no matter from what perspective the speed of light is measured, now focus on this, it is always measured as the same. Remember that speed is a measure of the distance traveled in a certain amount of time, or Distance/Time. So one person in a stationary car will measure the speed of light to be 299,792,458, but someone in a car moving at a rate of 100 meters/sec would measure the speed of light as the SAME. HOW IS THIS? This was completly bafeling to scientists, they didnt know how to explain this. Well since we would normally expect the person in the moving car to register the speed of light as either +100 m/s or -100 m/s depending on which way the car is going, either towards the light or away. But since we measure the speed of light as the same or basically that the viewers disagree on how far the light has traveled. Since they disagree on how far the light has traveled or distance, then the only way to balance the equation is that they disagree on the time that it took. So its like this time 1.........................TIME 2 --------- ...........=.......------------- distance 1................DISTANCE 2 (notice I put the first in all lowercase to give the idea that both are smaller, and the second in all caps because both are bigger the time and the distance) or like this 2/2 = 23/23 So that's basically how Einstein came up with the general theory of relativity and causes what we know as time dilation I hope that kinda helps you visualize
Q: SOUTHERN LIGHTS, PEOPLE!!
I assume you are talking about the Southern Lights at the South Pole, or Aurora Australis. They are in Antartica during the austral winter.
Q: Since light and sound travel similarly, then would a well illuminated room have a lot of echo as well. (supposing light and sound bounce off the walls with the same potency)
Sure, light will bounce around to some extent. But you cannot liken light to sound. Light is simple electromagnetic radiation that our eyes can respond to. It is unimportant where the light that illuminates comes from, whether (say) directly from the sun, or by reflection. If a room has white or bright coloured objects in it, it doesn't matter what direction light hits it. The reflection is diffused in all directions. If you had direct sunlight lighting a yellow wall, and the rest of the walls were white, they will take on a yellow hue.
Q: what are the northern lights ?
They are also know as Aurora Borealis. (Northern Lights) An aurora (plural aurorae/auroras) is an electro-static phenomenon, characterised by a bright glow and caused by the collision of charged particles in the magnetosphere with atoms in the Earth's upper atmosphere. An aurora is usually observed in the night sky, particularly in the polar zone. For this latter reason, some scientists call it a polar aurora (or aurora polaris). In northern latitudes, it is known as the aurora borealis (IPA /?????? b??i??l?s/), which is named after the Roman goddess of the dawn, Aurora, and the Greek name for north wind, Boreas. Especially in Europe, it often appears as a reddish glow on the northern horizon, as if the sun were rising from an unusual direction. The aurora borealis is also called the northern lights since it is only visible in the North sky from the Northern Hemisphere. The aurora borealis most often occurs from September to October and from March to April. Its southern counterpart, aurora australis, has similar properties. Australis is the Latin word for of the South.
Q: i need light trucks that are in 8.25
extra ideal won't be able of be responded. Thats a rely of personel determination. Of the checklist you have up there the tensor lo's and the silvers may be the mild contraptions. they are all mild yet those 2 basically regarded the lightest.
Q: I am not suggesting that God did share His glory. A natural result in,light is because f His glory.I do ask this because I am having a hard time to accept the fact that on day one the light is the object of the creation story for God had no reason to create light since He is light.
I'm pretty sure God can see without light
