Q: What is the main material for making solar panels?
You can also according to their own needs, according to the power to buy a good package of solar photovoltaic products.
Q: I have a shed that has wiring run for light bulb and a couple outlets. It is in a dark corner of my yard and at night is kinda creepy to go in with even a flashlight. I am weighing the option/expense of running electricity from the house on an overhead line versus putting up a 45 watt solar panel on the metal roof with inverter, battery etc. Sunlight is good to excellent at the location. Question is - will this be sufficient for the occasional use of light and an outlet? What can I expect? Pros and cons appreciated
For okorder /... Electric power. Rather than an overhead cable you can bury a cable or PVC conduit and power the shed with 20AC. You can easily supply 5 to 30A of 20V AC that supply all of your power needs without the issues and limitations of the Solar system. If your shed is within 200 ft of your home you should be able to power the shed for less than $400 if you do the work.
Q: How do solar panels affect the property's community image?
Solar panels can have a positive impact on a property's community image by showcasing a commitment to sustainability and renewable energy. They can enhance the property's reputation as an environmentally conscious and forward-thinking community, leading to increased respect and admiration from residents and neighbors. Additionally, solar panels can act as a visual symbol of progress and innovation, contributing to a positive perception of the property and potentially attracting like-minded individuals or businesses to the community.
Q: Can solar panels be installed on golf courses?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on golf courses. In fact, many golf courses are adopting solar energy systems to reduce their carbon footprint and lower their energy costs. The large open spaces and ample sunlight available on golf courses make them ideal locations for installing solar panels. These panels can be placed on rooftops, parking structures, or even on the ground without interfering with the gameplay or aesthetics of the course.
Q: How do solar panels affect the property's operating costs?
Solar panels can significantly reduce a property's operating costs by generating clean and renewable energy, thereby reducing or even eliminating the need for traditional electricity from the grid. This results in lower monthly utility bills, as well as potential incentives such as net metering or feed-in tariffs that allow excess energy to be sold back to the grid. Additionally, solar panels require minimal maintenance and have a long lifespan, further contributing to cost savings over time.
Q: Can solar panels be used for heating water?
Yes, solar panels can be used to heat water through the use of solar thermal systems. These systems utilize the sun's energy to heat water directly, providing a sustainable and cost-effective alternative to traditional water heating methods.
Q: What would it take to make a heater for a small solar panel. I am looking into making a heater for a livestock tank to keep ice melted. I know that heaters take alot of energy to run, but my theory is that if heated mirrors on a car can melt ice with low voltage and im sure not extreme heat (40-60 degrees) then making a heater with just high enough temperature to keep from icing over and melting ice is possible. Where do I start? I would like to use an inexpensive solar panel that will generate enough heat to keep ice from forming and melt it at the beginning of the day. How can you make such a heater and apply Ohms law so that it will function correctly, what Wattage will the pannel need to produce to generate enough heat for the heater. The device will only have to be large enough to melt a spot large enough for an animal to drink.
Absolutely. But I see your point about the Ohms law. I think you'd need technical schematics to get the raw details.
Q: All I ever heard is how easy it is to get solar panels for a persons home. I live in Arkansas and to do my house it would cost 25000 that I dont have and No state incentives. So where do I go and get these free solar panels? Thanks for the help
Sorry this is so long. I live in north west arkansas. I have solar on my home. I installed them myself. Did not cost me anywhere near 25 grand. Solar will pay you back if you get incentives or not. I have said this a hundred times but people just don't seem to understand or can't do the math. You are renting from the public utility. You have nothing in the end but a stack of payment stubs. There is no way to get a return on your investment. You paid them money and have nothing. Nothing at all .. Well maybe good service. But still nothing. If you check it out most solar electric systems last 30 years or longer. If your electric bill is 00 dollars a month. do the math. 00 dollars a month for 30 years is $36,000 dollars you would normally pay the public utility. So why not buy your $25,000 system, you just made $0,000 right there on the spot. Now add in 3.5% cost of living per year for each year for the next 30 years on that 35,000 you pay the public utility. Then you have to keep in mind you do not pay taxes on any electric you make yourself. You do not pay fees on your own power. You do not pay the cost of fuel incresses every time the price of oil goes up. In the end you saved $00,000. So it is free even if Arkansas don't give free handouts like other states. I even know people who say they are waiting for some one to make a cheaper solar module. That will not happen because even if they make it for half the cost (like evergreen is doing) it will still be sold at standard market value not production cost. The real problem with solar is it is hard to come up with the upfront cost. But renting solar panels is comming but that is the same as just renting power from the public utility. I wish you luck but it will be a while before Arkansas will make any moves on renewables. They just in 2007 made it law that the public utilities have to let your roll your net metering over to the next month if you over produced.
Q: Since plants have been populating this earth for the past 475 million years I think they have evolved to gain the most sun with their greenery. If scientists used heat sensors to find the hot spots of trees and trim all of the leaves that don't quot;providefor the plant, then maybe that trimmed tree could be used to become a solar quot;panelquot;. I believe that each individual leaf could be replaced by a small solar panel and the wood of the tree would be wiring that would root all of the solar panels to a generator.
solar panels do not use generators, but i like your idea, very creative.though i don't see the practicality of this being used commercially, i think it would make a great solar promotional piece though! off-subject, it is time we stop looking at the upfront costs of things and start looking at what the long term costs are. most green-technology, although expensive at first, end up saving tons of resources and actually increase profits of businesses! studies show that people who work in a green building tend to be happier which benefits health, more excited to go to work due to the business's environmental ethics, are more productive because of natural lighting, and are more efficient because more work is getting done. green buildings can actually boost the efficiency of a business! thus saving tons of money and reducing tons of waste. Doesn't this just make sense to you?
Q: Can solar panels be used to power a hospital?
Yes, solar panels can be used to power a hospital. Solar energy can be harnessed through solar panels to generate electricity that can be used to power various equipment and facilities within a hospital, including lighting, medical devices, ventilation systems, and more. Using solar power can help reduce reliance on traditional energy sources, lower operating costs, and contribute to a more sustainable and environmentally-friendly healthcare system.
