How does solar light works?
Solar light uses solar panel with photovoltaic effect principle to receive solar radiation during the day, then converted into electrical energy, after that store in batteries by charge-discharge controller, while at night when the illumination gradually reduced to about 10LUX, the open circuit voltage of solar panels reaches the set value, after the discharge controller detects the voltage value then action, the battery discharge current to the lamp, solar light; when the battery is discharged to the set value, battery stops discharge, the solar light turned off. Or the next day when the illumination is higher than about 10LUX, charge and discharge controller action, the battery discharge suspended, solar panel starts battery charging.

- As long the scientists has to assume that there is an absolute vacuum through which light can propagate then they have no choice but to define light as having also the properties of a particle (called photon). I think it is hard here to show that such an absolute vacuum cannot exist unless we consider that the smallest matters are of the atomic universe. To please your curiosity, in brief, why not the atomic particles are in turn made by a sub-atomic universe too?! People in the near past couldn't imagine for example that our big planet would become just a small ball if all electrons stop their motions. The same, the world will need more time to get the idea that also the atomic particles like an electron has much the same structure as our dear planet (made by a much smaller sub-atomic universe). But I am afraid that the whole story is much more complicated than this very simplified explanation. But meanwhile and till this happens in the unseen future, let us please our teachers minds by telling them that light could propagate as an energy wave or photons as well. :)

- Dash lights are running lights? Dash lights are the bulbs in the instrument cluster and gauges. Test the rheostat for dimming the dash lights if you've already turned it up all the way. I have seen voltage spikes fry all the instrument cluster bulbs at the same time.

- your textbook may have made a semantic distinction amongst different things that emit light (and if so, use the textbook's rules!), but i'd say that if something is emitting photons (even if temporarily) then it's a light source - so YES! OTOH, the glow-in-the-dark-ball is just remitting some fraction of the light it absorbed some minutes ago. in that sense, i can see how your teacher might put such a ball in the category of *not* a pure source, but just a reemitter... then again, light bulbs convert electrical energy into light (and are a light source i think) and your rubber ball is reemitting absorbed light. so, i can see it both ways actually. check w/ your textbook... off the cuff though, i'd say Yes. it emits light, so it's a light source. cheers

- hi, the led lights market has different quality level. First you should know the quality level you need. And good quality is based on two important factor: 1. chips (superior quality chip brands are Nichia, CREE,LUMIleds; Epistar, Everlight Taiwan brand comes next, Chinese local brand the third). the better quality the chip is, the higher price it will be. Even though Chinese loacl brand chip is very expensive, but you can find good quality one if you are lucky. 2. driver: The best is Mean well from Taiwan. There also some good other brand in China like UE, DELTA. The most advantage for good chip and driver are longer lifespan, lower light decay. Hope my answer can help you in a sense.
