- Go online and report it as lost or stolen. My daughter lost her phone, and after searching for it for a few days, we reported it lost. Virgin Mobile offered her a new (upgraded) phone for the cost of shipping (about $10 as I recall). Aside from the shipping charge, she didn't lose any money off of her account. - Q: I picked out this phone on the T-Mobile website, and it won't let me check out. I think it will only let me check out if I choose a monthly rate plan, but I don't need one. - No you cannot buy just the phone without a new line of service on the T-Mobile website, in other words you will be buying the cell phone/Device at retail price. Also you cant go to a t-mobile retail store and buy just the phone either, they're no allowed to sell you the phone on the spot as because its only for customers activating a new line of service with them. You would have to order it from t-mobile thru the store have it mailed to you, also you can check local cell phone retailers who sell unlocked cell phones, or a walmart store as they carry some of the newest T-mobile phones (G1, Blackberry, Sidekick, Behold Etc) Another option would be OKorder or Craigslist. I'm using a Australian model of sony ericson k901i. i'm also using malaysian celcom sim card. it works wonders. to answer your question. i dont think they will be a problem on just purchasing sim card use it on your handphone. if you want to make sure, just ask the shop to try it on your handphone (make sure bought it at handphone dealer shop). so no need for you buy one (new hand phone). i also suggest you to buy Celcom simcard. due to its ability to use on rural areas. your travelling adventure might end up or travel to rural areas which some of the phone provider dont have an excess

If you are pursuing the warranty replacement route, then you are stuck with another Optimus V, and they do not offer discounts on replacement phones. I would agree that the Optimus V is not a good phone, but when you look at how cheap that Virgim Mobile is, you can see how they cannot offer higher quality phones (basically it will be costly enough that it will cost them customers, as they typically want things on the cheap.). At least the phones that Virgin Mobile offers are better quality than those that Straight Talk offers (around 1 in 5 Straight Talk phones are defective).
