250W Mono Solar Panel for Home High Efficiency

Q:hi so im doing a school project thing and they have a lot of different questions for us that help us decide whether we would rather a city have a nuclear reactor, or solar panel. But i cant seem to get the last 2 questions...help please???so question ........What types of emissions, if any, are produced by each type of generating station? Do these emissions affect human health?question 2.....What are the long term financial costs associated with maintaining each type of generating station?thanks!
You should research nuclear reactors and their emissions. Mostly it's waste heat, and if they use a water-based cooling reactor, there can be significant emissions of water vapor. Some might consider the spent fuel an emission too. Waste nuclear material disposal is a problem. Research it. Solar panels have no emissions during operation, but there is some nasty stuff emitted when they are manufactured. 2: Maintenance of solar panels is pretty straightforward: keep them clean, trim overhanging trees, shrubs, etc., check for and clean corrosion, contaminants, etc. regularly. Maintenance of nuclear power plants, so far, is a full time job for many technicians and engineers. The recently developed portable (the size of a shed) nuclear generators claim zero maintenance for 20+ years. That's a big improvement.
Q:I had an idea for new parabolic solar panels shaped like horseshoes. They can install them outside buildings facing the equator. They could angle them from the ground based on how many degrees latitude the location and rotate them according to seasonal changes. The disadvantage of photovoltaic panels is that they are not all capable of receiving direct sunlight. That is the quintessential reason I believe horseshoe solar panels are more effective than flat rectangular ones. One side could function in the morning; the middle could perform at midday; and the other could operate during the evening. That method seems more sensible than hourly positioning. I'm certain horseshoe panels could save and produce more electricity. A football stadium, shopping mall, or outlet center would be a fantastic place. What do you think?
Sorry to be a prophet of doom again but the fault in the system is that only a small portion of the cell is used at any time of the day, given the high cost of solar panels this is not financially viable. Why not just have a small motor to turn the panel to face the sun, that's been done and it works.
Q:Can solar panels be used for powering a wastewater treatment plant?
Yes, solar panels can be used for powering a wastewater treatment plant. Solar energy can be harnessed and converted into electricity, which can then be used to power the various components and processes involved in wastewater treatment. This renewable energy source helps reduce reliance on non-renewable fuels, lowers operational costs, and minimizes the environmental impact of the treatment plant.
Q:how many solar panels in a grid tied system would it take to take see a difference in your power bill?

Q:i am working on a project which requires small solar panels. i am looking for ones about 3X4. is there any way i could get these? and where?
You could build them yourself? Depending on the time you have.... They are having a special at the moment....
Q:Can solar panels be used in apartments or condominiums?
Yes, solar panels can be used in apartments or condominiums. However, the feasibility of installation and usage may vary depending on the specific circumstances of the building, such as roof space, orientation, and ownership structure. Some apartments and condominiums have successfully implemented shared solar systems or community solar programs to enable residents to benefit from solar energy.
Q:Ok so I am planning on buying a solar panel. I am doing it to possibly sell the energy that it stores. It is a 20 watt panel so I am just wondering if every week or month if I sold that energy that it stored would make me a good profit. I am not hoping for thousands of dollars a month..just like 00? The solar panel cost me $,00 so if so, how long do you think it would take to make good profit. Also, how much would I make every week or month?
I will give you the tools to answer your own question. Here is the solar resource map: rredc.nrel /solar/old_data/nsr... Use it to look up the hours of peak equivalent sunlight per day in your area. For example, let's say it's 5 hours / day. Then per year you get 365 x 5 = 825 hours of sun Your panel is 20 watts, or 0.2 kW So the energy produced per year is 825 x .2 = 383 kWh You'll have to use the proper numbers for your own area, of course. Anyway, you can take that 383 kWh and determine how much it would cost at local electric rates. Never know, on some islands, it's $.00 per kWh. Check with your local electric company for rates.
Q:I need to power a series of meraki wireless repeaters that plug into a standerd wall outlet. consuming 5v or .08 amps However I need this in a remote location (like out in the middle of nowhere) Using A solar panel as power supply and a battery to store the energy but, how and what do I use to convert the energy coming from the solar panel to the battery and the batteries power supply to match the needs of the meraki wireless repeater? How do I make this as compact as possible? Do I need a ac/dc converter? or dc/ac converter? Any suggestions or solutions would be great !
First things first. 5 Volts @ .08 amps would be .2 Watts. therefore you would need at least the same amount from a solar panel to replenish the batteries. But what puzzles me is the notion that plugging it in a wall outlet ? If you use 20 V @ 0.08 then the power consumption is 9.6 Watts And what is a meraki wireless repeater? I never heard of one. I'm a FCC licensed Ham and have some idea what is available. If you need 5 volts DC, you could use twelve Ni-cads in series and just keep them trickle charged with the solar panel That would make it compact. If you were to use an automotive battery (or motorcycle), then you would need a DC/DC converter.
Q:So, assuming that a solar panel is flush with the ground (i.e. only the photovoltaic side is visible, the other sides are covered by dirt,) what would happen if it was run over by a car? How about an SUV? Would it break?Would the solar panel still generate electricity?
it would ruin and it ought to nevertheless do power yet no longer plenty yet maximum possibly there may well be no power and plus why might somebody placed a photo voltaic panel on the line? that should in basic terms be stupid.
Q:How Much energy does Solar Panel Produce, and How long can Solar Panels go without maintenance.
Solar panels come in many kinds, using a variety of technologies and sizes, but the most common is still the crystalline silicon type. The power produced is variable, but the better ones you can buy approach 20% efficiency, and the peak energy from the sun is 200W/m^2 (Watts per square meter). This only occurs when the panel is lined up with the sun on a clear day with the sun high in the sky. The efficiency is also affected by how the electrical energy is taken from the panel, and the temperature of the panel. In the full sun the temperature approaches 60C, so the voltage drops. The links below provide a lot of information about such matters. A BP panel 50mm x 674mm gives a peak power of 20W. This is .07 square meters. As you can see this is very close to 20%. (The third link). However this is less in practice because the sun may not be full sun and may not be perpendicular to the panel. The output drops as the cosine of the angle to the sun, more or less. Even with peak sun this would produce only about 00W charging a 2V battery directly, unless an electronic Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) charge control is used.
