Q: How do flexible drives work? I want to transfer torque from one end of a flexible tube to another. I assume it uses some kind of very viscous continuum medium or a stack of flexible couple plates. Any book drawings, specs or book reference is what I am looking for. I couldn't find anything on Google. Thank you for your time and effort
The flexible drive for my dremel uses a small steel cable inside of a plastic tube. One end of the cable is attached to the motor, the other end is connected to the chuck.
Q: On my RV i need to replace a brass fitting on the plastic tubing near the h2o holding tank, but the old fitting has the 3 rings around it I can't cut the tubing it will cause it to be too short and all the lines seem to be the same so i can't go farther. How can i get the old part out?
your best bet is to use a dremal with a metal cutting disk you need a steady hand and you will be able to cut at the rings until you can just snap them with your hand then bend it open and pull it off the tubing. if you don't have a dremal you should be able to get one for around 40 bucks and 5 bucks for some metal cutting disks.
Q: My two young female gerbils are chewing on the CritterTrail plastic tubes I have connected to the cages. They have tons of chew toys, food, and space. I've placed two toilet paper holders in their large nest area. It's helped a little, but they still chew on the plastic tubes. Which is VERY noisy, and I don't think chewing on plastic is good for them compared to natural wood.
You would just be better off getting a 20 gallon long tank or a bin cage. The cage you have now is too small and it would be hard to safely connect it to a tank.
Q: Can plastic tubes be used for cold-fill applications?
Yes, plastic tubes can be used for cold-fill applications.
Q: Are plastic tubes biodegradable?
No, plastic tubes are not biodegradable.
Q: Can plastic tubes be used for storing automotive fluids?
Yes, plastic tubes can be used for storing automotive fluids. However, it is important to ensure that the plastic material used is compatible with the specific automotive fluid being stored to prevent any chemical reactions or degradation of the tube material. Additionally, the tube should be suitable for the required pressure and temperature conditions of the fluid.
Q: Something that can coil up.
hardware stores, home depot or lowes, or any marine/boating store.
Q: If I have a 2lb spool of 1.75mm ABS filament, how many 5.25 inch x 2.25 inch (both dimensions are diameters) hollow cylinders with 3 mm thick walls could i print with one spool?
First determine the volume of filament you have: density of ABS =~0.038 lb/in^3 2lb / .038 = 52.6in^3 of material Second, determine the volume of each tube: inner diameter of tube = 5.25in-3mm=5.132in (both of your dimensions cannot be diameters, so I assumed the second was the height, if it's a tubular cone then the height is missing) volume of each tube: = 2.165in^3 per online calculator below. You could double check by calculating the volume of cylinders with the outer and inner diameters separately and then subtracting the results. 52.6 / 2.165=24.3 so you could print approximately 24 tubes
Q: Are plastic tubes suitable for use in the packaging industry?
Yes, plastic tubes are suitable for use in the packaging industry. They offer several advantages such as durability, flexibility, and resistance to moisture and chemicals. Additionally, plastic tubes can be easily customized to meet specific packaging requirements, making them a popular choice for various products in the industry.
Q: Should I use them or take them off. They are currently on my strings, but my two lower strings sound really bad.
The purpose of these plastic tubes is to prevent your bridge from being damaged. As we violinist know, the violin needs constant tuning and if you are using gut strings, would react weirdly to the physical environment should it change. The plastic tubes are to prevent your bridge from being cut by the strings especially by the E string which is very thin.Normally I take off the plastic tubes on the lower 2 strings but I think its okay if you don't too. I don't think it will affect the sound though.Maybe your strings are new so they haven't really settled down yet.Different strings when placed newly create all sorts of odd sounds.I particularly hate the Dominant ones as they have that metallic edge in the sound when its just placed.
