- Q: Will the results be any different? If so, why?
- Absolutely they'll be different. The normal plastic bad is not permeable to much of anything. I'm not sure of your experiment, but if you are using starch and Iodine, with dialysis tubing, the iodine can pass in and out, but starch cannot because the pores in the dialysis tubing are too small. With a platic bag, there are no pores, per se, and so neither the iodine nor the starch can move in and/or out.
- Q: The difference between metal hose and corrugated plastic pipe
- Some corrosive, high-pressure liquids, gases, etc can be taken. Plastic corrugated pipe is also a wide range of more common for drainage.

- If it's flexible tubing, there are nylon barbed fittings at nearly any hardware store that will fit your specifications. One end will fit inside the tube, secure with a tightened hose clamp after screwing the threaded end into the female fitting. If it's a pressurized application, wrap the threaded end with teflon tape before tightening. You may have to use a series of bushings to step up the threaded end if the sizes are too far off. Most home stores can fix you right up, must make sure you take all your diameters of the fittings and tube with you.
- Q: I have a hole ins a plastic tube that contains water how do I seal the hole?
- You may find that you could A: use a water bed repair patch and than wrap tightly with duct tape or B: get a tube of some silicone like they use to repair aquariums. apply liberally and than wrap with plumbers tape. Let it dry as good as possible before putting any real force to it. Good Luck!

- Yes you can as long as it is all silled off tight from the air filter back MY 08 <demo camaro that i race at drag tracks ..has a custom home made system......with ram air .....my air fillters are on the roof of the car I just got some tubing ...cut a hoe in the old air box just big Enif for the houses and ran it to the roof..i did all this for about 250 but i chromed it out ......Just make sure ur olny pullin air that came threw the filter some cars will wig out if the air flow isnt just right JUST to let you know that if ur check engine light or such comes on it mayb bc of the computers pressure/vacuum readings but most of the time this does not happen example <lets just say If ur computer thinks it should be running at 2.0 but ur getting 1.0 or 3.0 the check engine light may pop on??but most likely not and just to let u know if u remove all that junkie plastic tubing and replace it with metal intake lines it will drop ur running temp ..and give u a lil better fuel mileage ..and hp I hope iv helped

- In the U.S. we have a chain of stores called Tap Plastics who sell many types and shapes of, well, plastic. Try a home improvement center. They may not have it there, but would know where to find it.
- Q: Suppose I take a plastic tube and some insulated wire and wrap the wire very tightly around the plastic pipe so that the pipe is covered with several layers of wire wrap. The wire is always wrapped around the pipe in the same direction. Then we connect the two ends of the wire together. If I then drop a strong magnet down this pipe arrangement, will the magnet fall slowly, or not?
- Not slowly, but it will fall somewhat slower because of an induced current when it first enters and exits the wire covered section of the tube. In the middle section the two poles will induce opposite induction currents (and voltages), so the effect will cancel. But if what you want it to show eddy current effects, the coil arrangement is not a good way of doing the experiment. You want the resistance to be minimal so the eddy currents don't dissipate too fast. And you want the eddy currents at both poles of your magnet to be (relatively independent) and not cancel out in a series circuit. The easiest way to achieve that is to use a simple copper tube. Of course, if what the question is trying to do is to test if YOU understand the difference between the coil and the solid copper, then it might actually achieve its purpose.
